If he lost his job and he is still her patron, I find that odd.
Not on his behalf, he seems like a really nice guy but the fact that she stills takes his donation, considering he lost his job.
and considering how much she seems to be earning from it...

Yes, I thought Brian seemed authentic. The films with Brian were very happy and fun.
yeah all of her other videos with people just seem really fake and trying to be "deep"

Yeah or really self indulgent through circulating it back to her in convos or showing slow mo footage in the middle of an interview of her in a bikini or biting her lip and pouting when it has absolutely nothing to do with the subject matter...

Good point Denise.
A bit like Julia Roberts character in Pretty Woman, she'll be whoever they want her to be or whoever will further her agenda.

A question, did see have a romantic relationship with Patrick, the guy she did the TV show with and owner of Hello Fresh?

Fair play to Brian, I hope he is happy! I mean that because I did like him.
Yes it seems that they dated .. https://ca.hellomagazine.com/celebr...-some-romantic-comedy-into-her-cooking-series

Exactly!
I have just recently started watching Nicki Positano and am really enjoying them.
I had never watched Kylies Dolce Vita diaries, so decided to watch a few last night.
In one she was in her favourite restaurant's kitchen and was being silly and giggly even though this was meant to be a serious, travel docu type thing. The kitchen was full of male staff, when the boss came in and said you are all in here, I wonder why.
She left that in but expects to be taken seriously as a travelogue.
You wouldn't see that in a Nicki Positano vlog. She is more professional.

totally agree, Kylie never would have had the "success" she has without her looks tbh, not saying that Nicki is not attractive, of course she is , but her vlogs are interesting and insightful, just a take on real life and her husband seems really sweet. The only thing I dislike is having to watch that intro thing every time, but my god they must both be so fit from all that uphill walking! I am so jealous of her basically self sufficient food!

This is my experience. Her videos have had ads since I started watching her last year, why do we think she doesn’t monetize on YouTube? I thought the creator gets paid if you watch even a skippable ad.

yeah I thought this, I hadn't watched her for a while but she never seemed to have ads in hte past and spoke about not doing them, it seems a recent thing?

I had never noticed ads until recently either. If she has been monetised, she does quite poorly. Social Blade isn't perfect but it gives a good estimate. People I have followed with less subs and views have earned much much more. Although she doesn't seem very much into the algorithm, placing ads herself (in December you might notice YT ers amp the ads and content since it is the month that generates most earning) or all that side of it. Evidently she does will enough with her patrons! Lol

I don't understand this. Does she get money when there are ads? I always skip the ads as soon as I can.

Interesting, do you remember what video she says she doesn’t/won’t monetize?
I can remember her saying something about her YT channel not being about making money, it was to share her talent and experiences.
Sorry, I can't remember which video and I don't know if it's the same one the others are talking about.

I think Nicki and Carlo are truely united and do so much together but also have their own lives, friends and interests. They seem more real than other influencer couples who are forced together for the camera.
Nicki and Carlo seem to enjoy spending time together even if it is only gardening.
Those stairs would have me dead in a week.

you get money as soon as there are ads, but less if people skip/don't stay to the end of the video

I watched Nicky Positano having read about her on this thread - Kylie not responding to her. I thought the life and lifestyle Nicki was presenting to be far more "real" and down to earth.

I got curious as well reading about Nicki here. Definitely more down to earth. Kylie always wants to make a perfect film every week, rather than vlogging or just telling stories. What was beautiful and new (like waiting for the Sicily or Amalfi series) has now become stodgy and redundant.

Of course with covid restrictions she can't be out and about much, but even when rules were relaxed she fell more into villa shots, cyprus trees, cooking etc, if not for the odd "Italian lesson" in a Florentine cafè. She has never really captured the city itself but had great opportunity to do so.

I love Nicki Positano’s videos. They feel so real and she is so likeable and down to earth. I found the comments

This is a video where she mentions her book (around min 5). But I wanted to point out another lie, or vague versions of the truth. So she supposedly had all of these holiday and then student visas (as per her interview about moving to Italy with Atty Capecchi). In this video she mentions her living without health insurance for over 10 years just to follow her dream. Impossible in Italy unless you are illegally staying. To get a visa you have to buy some sort of minimal insurance, to apply for your permesso di soggiorno even to "study" you have to buy into a healthcare package, no way around it. They won't even accept your application packet without it. I can't imagine Spain is different for student permits. Woe is Kylie, again and again making herself sound worse off than she is. Why lie ?

This is the one when she mentions the man from Monaco who she met at Cannes, for anyone curious. This video is full of bits I had forgotten where I had heard them.

Denise, with regard to the YouTube recording. I haven't got through it all yet. Some of K's values, I admire as I was obviously attracted to her work at some stage. Listening to this though there are some things that appear overly judgemental and not very savvy.

Comments such as the one K makes about sensuality and saying that some people confuse it with something sexual "as someone with a poor grasp of language would do". Nobody likes an intellectual snob.

Mugs remind her of an office kitchen.

She wishes to make the 'Ultimate Romantic film that will leave audiences believing in love' ... very ambitious, and possibly a little misguided. Has she lived long enough to understand love in all its facets?

120,000 word book. Blimey, that is longer than a PhD thesis! Not clear whether it is a novel or not, but i think the age of the "great" and long novel ... such as by Dickens, Tolstoy, Proust &c. as great as they were, are no longer fashionable or indeed saleable. I can understand why a publisher would baulk at publishing a 120,000 piece of writing in this day and age.

She was with Guido when she recorded this.

Still not entirely convinced by the introvert thing.

Has a tendency to sound arrogant "Most partners proposed to me and asked me to spend a lifetime with them." It may be the case I suppose. But I think, if Kylie is as sensitive as she claims to be she should temper these comments. Yes, she is very beautiful (though she does rely on filters methinks) but i think she should filter her comments. Not everyone is quite as beautiful as she is, and it may cause some people to feel inadequate.

I don't have the time to listen further at the moment ....

I did love the opening to her Christmas film where she made chocolates and Ricciarelli ... she seemed to be filming in Florence in the early morning, some lovely shots of the boutiques all dressed for the season, and some of the buildings ... the Duomo, Santa Maria Novella &c. It would be wonderful to see more of this.
