This is a video where she mentions her book (around min 5). But I wanted to point out another lie, or vague versions of the truth. So she supposedly had all of these holiday and then student visas (as per her interview about moving to Italy with Atty Capecchi). In this video she mentions her living without health insurance for over 10 years just to follow her dream. Impossible in Italy unless you are illegally staying. To get a visa you have to buy some sort of minimal insurance, to apply for your permesso di soggiorno even to "study" you have to buy into a healthcare package, no way around it. They won't even accept your application packet without it. I can't imagine Spain is different for student permits. Woe is Kylie, again and again making herself sound worse off than she is. Why lie ?
This is the one when she mentions the man from Monaco who she met at Cannes, for anyone curious. This video is full of bits I had forgotten where I had heard them.
Denise, with regard to the YouTube recording. I haven't got through it all yet. Some of K's values, I admire as I was obviously attracted to her work at some stage. Listening to this though there are some things that appear overly judgemental and not very savvy.
Comments such as the one K makes about sensuality and saying that some people confuse it with something sexual "as someone with a poor grasp of language would do". Nobody likes an intellectual snob.
Mugs remind her of an office kitchen.
She wishes to make the 'Ultimate Romantic film that will leave audiences believing in love' ... very ambitious, and possibly a little misguided. Has she lived long enough to understand love in all its facets?
120,000 word book. Blimey, that is longer than a PhD thesis! Not clear whether it is a novel or not, but i think the age of the "great" and long novel ... such as by Dickens, Tolstoy, Proust &c. as great as they were, are no longer fashionable or indeed saleable. I can understand why a publisher would baulk at publishing a 120,000 piece of writing in this day and age.
She was with Guido when she recorded this.
Still not entirely convinced by the introvert thing.
Has a tendency to sound arrogant "Most partners proposed to me and asked me to spend a lifetime with them." It may be the case I suppose. But I think, if Kylie is as sensitive as she claims to be she should temper these comments. Yes, she is very beautiful (though she does rely on filters methinks) but i think she should filter her comments. Not everyone is quite as beautiful as she is, and it may cause some people to feel inadequate.
I don't have the time to listen further at the moment ....
I got curious as well reading about Nicki here. Definitely more down to earth. Kylie always wants to make a perfect film every week, rather than vlogging or just telling stories. What was beautiful and new (like waiting for the Sicily or Amalfi series) has now become stodgy and redundant.
Of course with covid restrictions she can't be out and about much, but even when rules were relaxed she fell more into villa shots, cyprus trees, cooking etc, if not for the odd "Italian lesson" in a Florentine cafè. She has never really captured the city itself but had great opportunity to do so.
I did love the opening to her Christmas film where she made chocolates and Ricciarelli ... she seemed to be filming in Florence in the early morning, some lovely shots of the boutiques all dressed for the season, and some of the buildings ... the Duomo, Santa Maria Novella &c. It would be wonderful to see more of this.
