Ciao, Alessandro - Italy is a beautiful, amazing, country and culturally rich with a fantastic culinary tradition too. However, the economy is not flourishing. I think it would be a wonderful country to retire to if one had sufficient savings and an income stream from pensions and investments to survive, could obtain a visa and speak the language but it's obvious to some that the dreams being presented in the videos are seductive but unrealistic. That said, I am European, not American, and I wonder if many of these patrons have visited Italy apart from maybe occasional fleeting visits and watching 'Under the Tuscan Sun'. 🙄 I don't know about the viability of the business proposition on Guido's family estate. It seems pretty remote and would I be correct in thinking that business might be seasonal at best?

Its amazing how people are working out that Kylie is not what she seems at all! She has created a new persona that copied another girl’s aesthetic, look and philosophy. I knew her when she lived in Positano. She is nothing like the person she has created in her videos. She’s cold, heartless and quite unpleasant. She has all of the unprincipled traits of a narcissist. If you can’t help her you are of no interest. Kylie’s aim was and is money and fame at any cost. She would be with any guy, regardless of whether she liked him or not, if he was rich and could further her ’career’.

yeah I think she needs to be aware that if her subs grow a lot she will be under a lot more scrutiny, which wouldn't be a positive thing for her
I’ve been told that Kylie buys many of the the views of her videos ( 76k exactly on different videos) plus she augments the subscriber numbers with fakes and also pays for Instagram followers and comments...That is what her Patreon supporters are really paying for....

^^Welcome @wero and @Antonio , and thanks for sharing some first hand info. As you've perhaps read here, many of us have suspected her of being a silly gold digger.

@emm Just as you've said! Her drawing attention to us just might backfire. Lol
Thank-you!😅 My girlfriend was interviewed by Kylie for an article and it was a very strange experience. She has no training as a real journalist or editor in Australia, as she claims, but rather worked in PR...however she did edit a mag published by a casino, as a public relations exercise, that has been investigated for corruption and money laundering...

god that is a huge apartment for someone so "poor" to rent, especially in florence!
I'm sure it's not unknown for a lifestyle vlogger or such to be living cheaply in a room somewhere and then rent the same AirBnB occasionally as a location. Turn up with your props, stay a day or two, shoot a month's worth of footage and photos then head back to the hovel to edit and hope the punters think you are in the nice place full-time.

Her Italian is very good but at the same time I hate when she speaks it. She puts on an entirely different personality and uses this shouty voice. And all of the "ah SÌ??? Ah SÌ?? drive me mad. Either do the videos all in Italian or Eng and put subs like everyone else, or quit wasting time drawing the video out saying the same sentence twice.

ah SÌ??? Ah SÌ??

Absolutely, this. The first video I saw, the tripping over rubble, the lip biting and hair flipping, shout-talking in this way.. I immediately thought of Apollonia screeching the days of the week in The Godfather before the car blows up. 😂

Her filmmaking is so gorgeous and her content (renovations, cooking, insights into Italian language) is so beautiful that I really wonder what's wrong with her, that she would put on all these pretentious affectations. Her accent in English is purely ridiculous. And I know I'm repeating myself, but good GOD I cannot stand all this lip-biting and smizing. It's painful! Why on earth does she do it??

Oh my goodness, I would NOT ever want Nicki and Kylie's worlds to collide. Kylie's toxic energy is not something Nicki and Carlo ever deserve. Before finding this forum I had not heard of Nicki and have really enjoyed watching her Positano Diaries, so thank you!! She's so authentic and lovely vibe, and we share similar interests such as pets, cooking, hiking and gardening so I have lots of reasons to love it. I've also been an expat a couple of times and am moving back to the UK (Pembrokeshire, Wales to be specific) again after 10 years being back in Seattle, and I know it is no fairytale. It's a tough transition even when you speak the language and are passionate about the culture and the landscape.

Hello all! I'm new (my real name is Aelfwynn) and I have finally been accepted on here. It's been so hard following this thread for a couple of weeks and not be able to participate. I started watching Kylie's videos about a year ago because YT kept insisting I would like it...and I kind of did, but mainly because I love Italy and needed some escapism. I love the cinematography of her videos but she quickly became incredibly annoying to me, but at the same time endearing. I felt sorry for her, trying so incredibly hard to be sexy and desirable and living in a deluded fantasy world. I unfollowed and re-followed her several times and had an internal battle asking myself, "is it just me that finds the narcissistic camera shots objectionable?"

I did make a comment on one of her backpacking through the mountains videos from a few years ago about the lip-biting and all the come-hither sexy looks into the camera...on a freaking solo backpacking adventure!!! I commented that it felt like I was intruding on her love affair with herself and how toning that down might turn fewer people off. She didn't respond or remove the comment, and one of her fans commented back that they didn't understand what I was talking about. So, I thought I must be crazy...until the Disney nightmare video and I seriously couldn't help myself from commenting. It's still there, not removed, but oh my, her fans have become much more rabid and aggressive. I'll take a screen shot and post here later. It's under my handle Welsh Dragon if one of you finds it first.

A while back I also commented on one of her videos about her age and timeline not adding up, and she responded directly to it, saying "don't believe what you read online regarding my age" but then didn't actually provide clarity. It still doesn't make sense at ALL for her to be 29. 38 is much more reasonable, but she actually looks my age to me (44). Someone on here said it so well several pages back about how the midriff only hip-shaking/thrusting slow-motion shots and sexy lip-biting looks into the camera are dangerous in so many ways for society in sexualizing women publicly. It's her prerogative to create whatever content she likes, and it's our prerogative to criticize it.
🤣🤣🤣 OMG, what a brilliant handle, I have never laughed so much "Come Hither lip-biter" you have a great sense of humour. I have to say that the 'Disney nightmare' was simply cringeworthy. K seems to like all the romantic 'little girl' Disney animations too, like Cinderella, which isn't to my taste at all. I loved Jungle Book and 101 Dalmations back in the day. Just like you, Come Hither, I wanted some escapism as Covid prevented me from travelling as much as I am used to, and I thought Kylie's cinematography very accomplished though have issues regarding her over-idealization of Italy. As I've said in earlier posts, it is a beautiful country and wonderful on so many levels but one would need to be careful about relocating there. Right ... I'm off to read your comment on the engagement announcement.

@Alessandro - I am saddened to learn that K broke up Guido's long-term relationship with a girl in Florence.

Sorry @Come-hither-lip-biter ... I started to trawl through the thousand plus, mainly sycophantic, messages from K's subs on "The Italian Fairytale" and lost the will to live. I will have to patiently wait for Welsh Dragon's comment to be revealed to us.

And why are they moving miles away in the country? Is it just to suit Kylie’s ego and her desperation to again to show off living in a big Tuscan villa? it’s two hours plus from Guido’s office and his family (maybe that’s what she wants) she doesn’t drive, as other Tattlers have said, and it will be miserable in winter.

As for the shambolic wedding plans @emm 🙄 As Kylie said it’s just a day...so maybe a few posts stuck in the garden with cheesecloth on them and a brown rice curry will suffice?!!
Hmmmmm @Antonio it is 'just' a day, but, for most people a very important day and a day worthy of celebrating and creating beautiful memories around. I'm not sure she's being authentic about this. I know, I know, you may say what is she authentic about. It seems rather strange to me. If I were in this position (and not pregnant!) I would put it on ice for a year and do it properly when I could have my friends and family there &c. Unless there's a very good reason I can't see the need to hurry.

Thank goodneess for this forum and that we found it ! I think it was only through reference in Kylie’s comment section that we knew about it.

How frustrating to watch the videos and have my comments censored/deleted by sweet Kylie!

There are three of us who watch, are horrified and laugh in disbelief, including our teenage daughter who is 100% Italian. We’re an international family living in Italy.

How nice it must be for Kylie to traipse through the sunflowers and dance with toilet brushes and Guido to ride a white horse, knowing that Italy is beautiful but broken. Or should I say broken, but beautiful, because I always come back and now am living here, with my new family.

We have a lot of fun comparing her depiction with the reality of our daily living in Italy.
if we ever move on to a new thread "dancing with toilet brushes" has to be included in the title

I'm watching her peru vlogs, "making places easy to get to attracts the wrong kind of people" and criticising people visiting machu picchu for being "more interested in taking selfies"... I have no words, is her biting her lips and filming her midriff in cooking videos for no reason better than a selfie?

Taking a break but I had to comment on her taking it slowly because this it what she does and Guido deciding to end his relationship before getting together with Kylie and then the sparks. All very sensible and admirable until I realise they are still at fecking dinner!!!!!!!!
Their first meeting!
@Appleblossom @Denise0211 @emm I thought the same - how can Guido have already broken up his relationship when he hasn’t even met Kylie yet and they are at a group dinner for the first time 😬 The usual situation with K is that nothing really adds up properly when you look at it closely and most of it is spin. Because we often moved in the same circles in Rome it was known she had no compunction seeing married men. So breaking up a longterm relationship that Guido had would not bother her at all.

I loved the boast about how many men have proposed to her 🙄 and how she had to break off her last serious relationship. It’s a fact that the billionaire’s son (who was also married but separated) dumping her was the biggest thing that happened to her...Her story of her rosy and impeccably well-behaved past romantic history is just baloney.

I think now she is hoping that people will forget she said that she was 29 only a few videos ago because at the start of this video she said she went to Florence alone 17 years ago, so she was 12 :ROFLMAO:

Hello everyone! Thanks for the hours of entertainment! I’ve been down this rabbit hole and it’s so nice to find some like minded people!

Like many of you, I came here after watching Kylie and Stephanie’s (chateau diaries) videos and feeling like...there was more to these stories. I’m from Los Angeles, and worked in the industry for over a decade and was very impressed with Kylie’s cinematic videos...but the gratuitous pouty, lip biting, slow, languid shots of her body and immature attitude on a few topics are beyond cringey! I’ve stopped watching but when I saw the Italian Fairytale thumbnail, I vomited in my mouth. 🤮. I now live in Rome and was initially drawn to her videos because, like many have mentioned, they are beautiful and really highlight that romantic dream of Italy but it is not like that at all in reality!

some of you have mentioned that she was having issued with her marriage paperwork? Having just got married here last June, I can assure everyone it is much more complicated than the US and from Australia (according an Aussie friend). The atto notorio document alone cost $1000. I hope she does get it sorted out, but if she wants a quick marriage, Italy is not the place for it!

Finally - I have been thinking to myself surely I am not the only one who sees through her!
What really gets me is how she constantly low key criticises and judges other women and nobody seems to pick her up on it - like in her apples video she says something along the lines of ‘uh women are sexualised and fake now posting pics in g-string bikinis’ - but she does basically the same ! She also mentions this in a cringey rap video she made. It’s pretty clear she has had a boob job (no judgement here if you’re insecure and want to get your boobs done go for it) and she constantly posts pictures of her in bikinis and shots of her cleavage and even pics of her in her underwear but of course she is an ‘intellectual’ so it’s fine for her to do it and to encourage men to follow her but not ok for other girls! Also agree with the comments made about how Italian women can’t or don’t cook anymore and it’s such a shame (not like her) -well Kylie, we now live in a World where women can have an education and a career and maybe some girls pride themselves on their careers which is awesome and may not be interested being chained to the cooker all day - each to their own, stop criticising other women and their decisions in a way to make yourself high and mighty ! Also annoyed me how she goes onnn and onnnn about how hard it is to make videos and she works such long hours as if she’s some sort of front line worker ( she is surrounded by old people on the farm that do back breaking work all day maybe she should take a min to reflect😅). If she’s up late at night editing she has to tell everyone about it, hun it’s your choice to make these videos it’s not your duty. Ooops long post but been wanting to say this for ages but knew my comment would get deleted - I think it’s fair to pick up her up on it if you have lots of followers that give you money

Poor Kylie; I’ve lived in Italy in lockdown for a year and a half and have travelled here for many years. She creates this fantasy about Italy that I’m sure many people like to have who have never spent much time here. She exploits that.

She won’t tolerate any comment that sets a realistic tone or interferes with her creation. She deletes and blocks comments; you won’t find one thread that includes anything other than fawning praise.

It can be very irritating, knowing she is deliberately giving a false account, but, now, also entertaining, watching her contrived expressions and cartoon descriptions of life in Italy. Reality is much rougher and she works hard to avoid it.

I found this forum after she mentioned it in her last video. I used to be her huge fan when I first started watching her videos but after some time I started to find her annoying. Like many of you guys I noticed that she is always surrounded only by men and she is trying to be "seducing" all the time. And what is her background really? How could she afford living all these years in Italy? Also I find it really annoying that in her all videos she finds older people to talk with and then she is whining about young people these days not cooking at home, not spending enough time in nature, living in hurry etc... wtf, not everyone wants to and can afford this type of lifestyle. I also don't like the way she portrays Italy and Italians becuase it is untrue and romanticized.
And... she always says that she moved to Italy because of its rich culture, love of history and art but she never actually showed any of it in her videos. It is so cringy that right now during the renovation of the chicken coop she was so impressed that it was built before the war and now she is doing everything to save some stones from the walls. She clearly doesn't know anything about history and art because then she would know that this chicken coop has no historic and artistic value and let Guido do this renovation his way 😂
