Yes @Tdrinker. She is such a bitch. This is the REAL Kylie Jayne. 😳 The comment was more than respectful and her reply to Kylie was too. If it were me I'd have told her to eff off back to her dreamland estate while many were locked in tiny apartments, many not working, while all her bills were paid by her lover of the year.

Also I highly doubt "so many Italians" have written her from hospital during covid, since if you were in hospital one was likely intubated and in poor condition. Also , based on comments/engagement I would say less than 10% of her viewers are Italian anyway. What is with her delusions of grandeur, btw? Sorry for the multiple posts but she is just so incredibly phoney.
So true @Denise0211😬 Also like @Alessandro said there is such a disconnect between Kylie’s bubble of privilege and what most Italians are suffering through Covid and financial disaster. That comment by Mimmi was totally fair and Kylie’s response was so unpleasant and aggressive - but she bullies anyone that dares to question her. The disparity between her narcissistic real self and the fake nice one she tries to portray in her videos plus the real Italy and her fantasy of it - that’s why we are all here on this forum🤔

Yeah, I think so too. No disrespect to all the mothers out there (as I mentioned before, I am trying to become one myself), but I find those vlogs really boring to watch and I don’t like it when people put their children into the spotlight for more views/ likes.
Agree. I actually hate Family Vloggers, children don't have a choice. But I digress...
And I could completely see Kylie turning into one. Plus imagine all the baby gifts they would get! Lol

The fake Disney video was bad enough - quickly followed by a crowing headline 200KSUBSCRIBERS!!! etc that wormed its way onto my screen & I just had to take a break from anything Kylie Flavell. But curious to find out your reactions here I've come back.....to a welcome surprise - a raft of new tattlers and even sleuths who had come into contact with her circle. As someone said, did she bring it on herself by mentioning the thread in the first place? Ha! Anyhow I've slid back in here tho' missing latest vlogs. Last thing I saw was Guido driving and reciting deadpan like a catalogue the things that drew him to her, pointing out that probably '10 years ago they wouldn't have been attracted to each other'. Bit of a back-handed compliment. Hated her version of the q&a sitting smug and praising herself thru his comments & how alike they were - PLAYFUL AND CHILDLIKE - what drivel. What I do believe is she doesn't drink - not from lifestyle motives but because if she just relaxed for one instant from curating her image she'd start talking in broad Strine and her real persona would come out. Another thing was if they were moody with each other she would do everything to smooth it over - natch - for fear of losing him before the Big Day after working on every aspect especially impressing his parents. Just imagine how she flatters the old man taking an interest in his life and basically smirking and smarming (lots of practice on the vlogs). And how she never falls in love quickly = not many boy friends. We see the chameleon turning colours before our very eyes lol. One thing I believed and got wrong and only learnt from you guys is her age. Very naive of me to think if you post a birth date on multiple sites it must be true. I did wonder how it all fitted but how devious to start knocking off years - how many? 8/9? before middle age.
Would love to have time to go back & quote things you all wrote, better than I could and I really think as a narcissist Kylie Flavell should be flattered by the quality of her'opinionistas' here with no lurking trolls.

I think they will push the boat out and have white rice as a treat
I feel sorry for Guido, I don't get who would want to add a 4 hour commute to their work day, especially driving, it is not like you can just sit back and relax like on a train, if I were them I would just keep that huge house for weekends/holidays

yeah and she is 100% one of those women who have been dreaming about a "dream wedding" forever, she is obsessed with romance
Lol ... I have to say I see a psychologist (partly due to Covid stress and anxiety and not seeing my friends and family for so long) and I told her about Kylie and directed her to one of K's videos. The psychologist is a nice woman and I thought she'd like the videos but, during our session last week, she actually said she found K intensely irritating, which is not the response I anticipated. We then discussed Narcissim. I sent her a link to the Italian Fairytale video (the Disney engagement episode) I am waiting with bated breath to hear the response to that! I explained that I couldn't understand this obsession with Disney especially these little girl films, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast etc ... and the psych. said it was very interesting and that Kylie wanted a prince and to be whisked off to an ivory tower. 🤣

Hi I'm new to this thread. I wanted to get involved as I used to be such a fan of Kylie. I liked the positivity in her videos, getting to see the beautiful Amalfi coast, cinque terre, Florence and Rome. It was a good form of escapism seeing Italian beaches, watching Kylie 'connect' with the locals and getting to see beautiful places like Positano without leaving my house in the UK lol. But I've become bored with the content she's produced in the last year- things like renovating a farm house, decorating a kitchen, baking which just isn't my cup of tea. I can't believe I didn't realise before reading this thread how strange it was that she has never created a video of her meeting up with female friends or going on a night out with any. Also what confuses me is how old she is- one source online says she's born in April 1991. But in her last YouTube video, 'How we met' it opens up with Kylie saying she moved alone to Florence 17 years ago. which would mean her parents left her in a foreign country at 13 years old?

I’m wondering about myself and why it is that The Kylie Show irritates and entertains me so much !

Here it is; She’s the worst kind of hypocrite, berating those who don’t make the effort to learn about the culture, while she misrepresents the same culture she purports to love and exploits the fantasies and ignorance of those who don’t know enough to realize she is lying.

She seems to be a narcissist, changing her colours to suit for the purpose of exploitation, whether it be for donations, patrons, gifts, rents, whatever. It’s all about her, never about anyone else.

She carries with her the worst of millennial culture of grievance, entitlement, poor me ism, privilege, while pleading poverty, playing up the child into adulthood, acting like it doesn’t matter.

She does injustice to the struggles of real Italians and lovers of this country, like me, who see and live the difficulties and absurdities every day, but still persist with the possibilities of being here.

She creates this lie without regard to the consequences for those who might follow her advice, whether arriving in this country thinking you have to speak perfect Italian to order a coffee, that Italians are a polite people in the english sense, taking on a restaurant/event space during lockdown and shutdown, sitting out in the sun for dinner during a scorching summer.

For anyone who knows and loves Italy and juxtaposes her self serving fantasies with their own both difficult and hard won joyous experiences, it is an insult.

The entertainment is from watching someone make a fool of themselves while they think they are making a fool of you.

Thank goodness for this forum to find other like minded individuals and for the opportunity to express this and to share.

Hi @emm, thanks for starting this thread in the first place and please find a few more below!

- presenting a consistently false and Disneyfied view of Italy especially under Covid

Alessandro, I wrote and posted my comments below before I saw your post just now. We’re thinking along the same lines !
Add this;

She appropriates a culture for her own purposes.

She censors and blocks the free expression of others who do not duplicate the fawning commentary she allows.

She infantilizes a topic that could be rich in exchange and expression.

Thinking about this I feel we might be best to drop the word fraudulent. While most of us find much of KF's MO questionable, unless she has been convicted of such an offence, we could be accused of libeling her. I could see her submitting a take-down request and it might also cause her stans to take one look at the thread title and decide to look no further, let alone engage.

ETA

Snap @spirit_of_place I hadn't seen your message before I hit post on mine.
Lets do the one everyone seemed to like of @Alessandro's: ‘Kylie Flavell faking, feigning and falsifying a phoney Tuscan Fantasy’. And use @PlinyinTorquay 's "phoney" since most tattlers seem to think @Jerry's 'foolish' works but is too naive for the calculation Kylie applies to her youtube and social media.

And its still sounds like an 'F' :) @emm do you want to start the new thread?

Kylie , when you’re reading this you might want to ask yourself why you’re being dissected here and not Nicky Positano who you failed to get back to . Nicky is happy to do vlogs of veg picking in her garden , she promotes local trade , she’s not lip biting , preening or playing up to men . Now it’s promos to help along Guido’s family rentals business, your camera work / editing can be lovely, just not when it’s based upon your own self aware posing . I hope after your written comments followers find us here and realise .
You and Stephanie , another ‘ favourite’ here really are little girls who never grew up, with over inflated egos and love for your own image .

Well I much more enjoyed this latest video without cloying behaviors.

Regarding the content changing, I think we all know she cannot travel much, other than it seems from one home to another and errands and shopping in between. So what is she to film? It's much better to see some activity and focus on something else rather than her sitting and pontificating. I am looking forward to seeing what she'll create in the new spaces.

Buttttt I add ... I am NOT stealing anyone's apples by enjoying a YouTube video without paying to be a Patron! That was a ridiculous suggestion by Kylie. Patreon is optional and no one should be shamed for not paying. If creators want payment from 100% of viewers, move to a subscription-only model. Good luck with that. I know some people who earn big incomes with subscription-only content (usually on closed Facebook groups). But they give, give, and give some more through teaching/educational/DIY content and people are willing to pay for that.
If I were to catch her videos randomly I would still enjoy aspects of them as stand-alone viewing. However it's now impossible to unknow the backstory of how she operates, and impossible to overlook the less-pleasant aspects of her personality.

Why bother? Perhaps because Miss Kylie announced the spring wedding to the world without planning a thing? Even if she is pregant, who cares? I never knew they were so religious.
I think, as someone else here mentioned, that Giudo is, I remember her once saying something about going to mass (with him), I bet she never went before being with him tbh, I never remember her ever mentioning anything about it, she strikes me as the kind of person who would say something like "I'm not religious butI am spiritual"

Thank goodneess for this forum and that we found it ! I think it was only through reference in Kylie’s comment section that we knew about it.

How frustrating to watch the videos and have my comments censored/deleted by sweet Kylie!

There are three of us who watch, are horrified and laugh in disbelief, including our teenage daughter who is 100% Italian. We’re an international family living in Italy.

How nice it must be for Kylie to traipse through the sunflowers and dance with toilet brushes and Guido to ride a white horse, knowing that Italy is beautiful but broken. Or should I say broken, but beautiful, because I always come back and now am living here, with my new family.

We have a lot of fun comparing her depiction with the reality of our daily living in Italy.

Kylie could so easily not have mentioned or alluded to this site, or any site, that discusses her output in - what she perceives to be - a negative way. It would go under the radar as a sort-of water cooler discussion between a few people who had points to make that might not be suitable to post on Kylie's own pages. Instead she has driven people here. She might be the type that is fueled by any sort of attention, even negative.

As an example, I'd never heard of Tattle but found it when Sali Hughes made a video where she was sobbing about "trolls" on "dragging sites" who she claimed were ruining her life. I felt very sorry for her and was curious to see for myself what these terrible people were saying. I thought I'd find terrible threats and bullying but there was nothing of the sort, there might have been the odd bitchy comment but only of the sort to be expected when one is a public figure.

I've unfollowed her now, this forum has confirmed many of my thoughts and that bonkers engagement video was the last straw for me ha
I'm just glad to see more posters and opinions. I used to think I was crazy being suspect of her and not finding any discussion about her content anywhere.

I should go look at her Moroccan videos again. Did she do the Talitha Getty style there?!

About the stenciled tiles and blue paint - kinda sloppy. I get she wanted an antique look but there's a big difference between sloppy and handmade antique. You can control the paint with your brush to make an antique look without smearing it on with your fingers and bleeding it under the stencil all gloppy-styles. Antique was usually done well, it's just faded with use and exposure, not sloppy. Guido, do not let her do that to any rental properties! Do it right or don't do it.

If Kylie isn't careful, she will go down the same path as Stephanie at Chateau Diaries. Stephanie knows what's on Tattle and now her videos seem to be more about rebuttals and trying to prove these "mean" people wrong. But here's the thing. YOU CAN'T. When people see the truth, they're right, and no amount of more lying can hide the truth. You cannot cover it forever on the Internet. If you say you're authentic, then be who you truly are, whatever it is, own it, don't lie to cover it up. That is, um, not authentic. Right?

About the Q&A video, what would have been wrong with sitting on a sofa together, and telling your story together? Telling the stories separately is an odd way to convey how together you are.

I can imagine her posting on instagram with pictures of (insert baby related item "they cannot afford") and tagging the company and hoping for gifted items
When she says "can't afford" my blood boils, how can she not know how that sounds? She said it about a large set of gates for one of their developments, when what she meant was that it wasn't within project's budget (the funds for which are presumably apportioned from her fiance's family estate's coffers).

I would be interested to know what her attrition rate of subscribers and patreon's are, as discussed so many comments are deleted and she doesn't have that many followers after 4-5 years of YouTube, makes me think that a few people feel the same. If she received more publicity, it wouldn't surprise me that she would experience quite a bit of backlash over her problematic views on women, how she acts so hard done by and all the other issues discussed on this thread. It seems her core audience are teenagers and older (mostly) Americans who dream of the dolce vita.
Hello again, I've read with interest the recent conversation and everyone's combined research has given a more complete and fascinating picture of Kylie's Dolce Vita. As a former patreon, my contribution was around £80 per month, I decided to opt-out for the following reasons. 1. I'd often find that K. would like and comment on everyone's comments/reactions to her apart from mine or a few others on Insta/YouTube. I was always polite - and maybe this is a reflection of my own sensitivity - but I felt slightly hurt at being ignored, especially when I was the only one not to receive a like or response (how sad am I?). 2. I started to find the films tedious when they were concerned every week with this renovation, her relationship with G &c. I guess marriage and babies is on the cards next and it just doesn't interest me. Although I never donated to her I found Madeleine Shaw became boring to me once she had a baby and it became all about that. 3. In view of the magnificent estate she is living on, I started to feel that I needed my money more than K. did or I could find a more deserving cause for my money. 4. Like others, I also feel she is painting a very misleading and idealized picture of life in Italy.

“I have a degree in journalism and I had worked as an award-winning magazine editor and publisher before moving to Italy and yet I couldn’t make a living pitching to publications around the world with content on Italy...” This is just not true - Kylie has won no awards for her work as a journalist or filmmaker...Nor do a lot people believe she even did a degree in journalism. As George Costanza said: “It’s not a lie if you believe it.”
Didn't she work for Vandelay Publications ;)

Thats like when my 22 year old phones in the middle of the night and says she won't be home because she can't get a taxi. I ask where she is staying and she says Xs but his parents are home and it's not like we are sleeping together.
That last statement has my spidey senses going. Why mention it if I haven't asked. It must be on her mind.

Kylie is the same with all the, before we kissed and not sleeping together.
Does she think we believe her? Does she think we care? Does she think we are innocent?
Sometimes I wonder what age group she is producing her videos for.
it is like she is implying "other women" need to bribe men to go out with them using sex, but she is so amazing people fall for her without it. her judgemental arrogant attitude drives me mad

I doubt most viewers are 18-34 now lol. Looking through her comments so many seem to be middle age to retirees as they speak about visiting Italy decades ago, nearing retirement and buying a home in Italy, their adult children and grandchildren.
It's likely due to her content topics the past year/year and a half.
