Ha good spot @Eameismeee
I totally agree with the Mica comment mentioned earlier, in my opinion you can't broadcast and profit off of your personal life online and then get angry if not everyone likes it or questions it.
I think I remember her saying on a comment once that she doesn't mind people talking about her work but she does mind people talking about her relationship etc but much of her work/content she releases is centred around herself, her personal life and relationship (especially this recent year).
It has been completely her choice to share aspects of her personal life to hundred and thousands of people so I don't understand why she seems so outraged.
One of the benefits of living in a democracy is having the freedom of expression and the freedom to discuss and question things which don't sit right with you. I am completely against anyone who sends hateful or threatening comments directly to someone, but I think if something is released in a public space by choice then people have the right to have an opinion and discuss it. I think she seems to crave fame, but not like the price.
If she is 38 it makes that engagement video all the more embarrassing! Lol. It was more fit for making a child's birthday special.
Exactly! I am also against insulting someone or the family/ partner of that person, because those kind of comments are hurtful to all of us and I don’t want to inflict pain on anyone. Also, insults to me are signs of jealousy/ an inferiority complex or just lack of arguments.

However, in the last couple of years we have developed this „cancel culture“ where everyone has become extremely sensitive and no one can be criticized anymore. And if you do speak up, you are automatically labeled as a hater and that is the end of the discussion.
I am sorry, but I do not agree with this „If you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all“-mentality. If someone is obviously showing a racist behavior, I am not allow to tell him, because it is not „nice“?
Yes, no one likes to be criticized, but constructive criticism is such an important aspect of humanity. How else can we evolve and become better? Especially if you are an artist, criticism is such an essential element of your work and as a grown woman you should be able to take it.
And if I tell you that I don’t like your lip-biting, it is not because I am a jealous, ugly hater (I am in a happy relationship myself and I am very happy with the way I look). It is because as a woman myself I do not like the over-sexualization of women in public (in your bedroom you can do whatever you want), because I think that it reduces us to our looks, leads to misogynistic behavior and sets the wrong example to so many young girls out there (the same reason I am not fond of the Kardashian clan). You can agree or disagree with me, both is fine. But you have at least to be able to engage in a conversation about it.

Yep that’s right. Unlike Kylie, she is pretty low key and modest. And is known mostly to Italians. I am sure she doesn’t appreciate Kylie copying her aesthetic and ideas. But presuming the rabid band of crazies that follow K and scream everytime she is questioned/criticised also visit this forum, I don’t think it would be fair to subject her to them...
Agrée @Antonio Kylie also copied her job titles and took her fake ‘award-winning’ editor from another colleague of mine in Rome because she was so jealous and compétitive. All that is good about her is a simulacrum of someone else.

Hello everyone! Thanks for the hours of entertainment! I’ve been down this rabbit hole and it’s so nice to find some like minded people!

Like many of you, I came here after watching Kylie and Stephanie’s (chateau diaries) videos and feeling like...there was more to these stories. I’m from Los Angeles, and worked in the industry for over a decade and was very impressed with Kylie’s cinematic videos...but the gratuitous pouty, lip biting, slow, languid shots of her body and immature attitude on a few topics are beyond cringey! I’ve stopped watching but when I saw the Italian Fairytale thumbnail, I vomited in my mouth. 🤮. I now live in Rome and was initially drawn to her videos because, like many have mentioned, they are beautiful and really highlight that romantic dream of Italy but it is not like that at all in reality!

some of you have mentioned that she was having issued with her marriage paperwork? Having just got married here last June, I can assure everyone it is much more complicated than the US and from Australia (according an Aussie friend). The atto notorio document alone cost $1000. I hope she does get it sorted out, but if she wants a quick marriage, Italy is not the place for it!
Benvenuta @eakpe90046 ! I did thé same and went down thé rabbit hole! This forum has provided endless amusement (thanks to @emm and @Denise0211 who started it) plus meeting other kindred spirits who are fed up with thé Kylie fakery in réal life and online.

Agrée about thé cinematic quality of thé drone shots but thé pity is that none of it is going towards a greater artistic vision but rather to an endless célébration of Kylie herself!

Re: discussion of Kylie preaching about never drinking or having one night stands etc etc!

Specially for your enjoyment @emm @Denise0211 @Appleblossom @PlinyinTorquay!

Somehow I don’t think K has shown Guido her ‘uncouth, gluttonous, animal like’ behaviour (yet i.e until that gold ring is firmly on) Thought you would all like this story that Kylie did as a one and only freelance story for Australia’s SMH newspaper: (when she was having kittens about Spain and it was her true spirit animal rather than Italy):

“We maniacally spoon more and more of it into our greedy mouths, tearing at the seafood with our oily fingers, lemon juice running fast down our chins. Suddenly I am outrageously thirsty and look up to see the chef standing over us with a contented grin, watching our animal behaviour. He slams a jug of cold white wine on our flimsy little table, now strewn with prawn heads, lemon wedges, clam shells and olive oil.

“I am gluttonous, uncouth and in heaven. I gulp down an entire glass of the cool wine. Chuckling, the chef fills it up again, splashing wine onto the floor.”

“I raise the glass to my lips in private toast to this city.
She is cupped by mountains, sprawls out to beaches, has cosmopolitan promenades and dark secret corners. Barcelona truly is the lucky bitch who is intelligent, beautiful and good in bed.”

"Hola." His eyes are shiny and his gaze so direct it seems almost childlike. "You are beautiful....”

I had braced for that weeks ago when she first started comment bombing her loyal subs (likely patrons) about a "horrible group online" she found. Also after her video bit about us....but nobody came except our new members who were happy to find an outlet for their doubts!😅
Actually, I think if K hadn't made the comments that she did the conversations may have come to an end by now but, paradoxically, she drew attention to it and gave it more oxygen.

Well, well, well!! 😁
I did a google search for a reference to her age other than the one she states.
I found the registration info for her company that went bankrupt.
It gives her year of birth as 1983!!
She was living in Monaco
I am not going to post the link because there is an address on it.

I just had to screenshot some comments from the latest video. Her fans are weird.
The last one where the commentator is saying that he/ just knows that Kylie won’t have any problems having children because he/ she „just knows“ felt like a punch to my stomach. I am struggling with fertility issues myself (my partner and I are currently in treatment about it) and I really don’t know what that comment is supposed to mean. You cannot „just know“ if someone is fertile or not before you actually try to have children. It is not written on our faces. And saying those kind of things is really hurtful to people like me.

As a former Patreon I am a bit confused by KF. She seems to work very hard and her filming is very accomplished. I admired her a lot at first. That said I'm losing interest now that it seems to be centering around this endless renovation work, her followers speculating about whether she and G will marry and whether she is pregnant etc. I'm not at a phase in my life where this interests me and it has all become rather tedious. I'm not remotely convinced by her claims that she's an introvert, having seen her other films from some years ago, she appears very outgoing and social. Clearly, she is from a privileged background, and Guido very much so, though you can't blame them for that. But I'm suddenly finding it all rather self-indulgent. Maybe it's because of COVID and she can't get out to make interesting content? That said, I am amazed that as a filmmaker she rates "Under the Tuscan Sun" that some of her followers mention weekly. Maybe she is being polite but there have been so many better films made in and about Tuscany. Isn't she also a little bit young to retire to a farmhouse in the middle of nowhere, doing DIY, cooking and becoming a wife in a very old-fashioned and traditional sense. Won't she become bored? It's sure boring me already.

I JUST came across her videos yesterday! A renovation video popped up in my recommended. Of course at first, I was purely impressed by her beautiful footage of Tuscany, but then as I watched her chittering away at her Italian boyfriend in a mix of Italian and English, whilst they discussed plans for the outbuilding he’s doing up as a rental on his family’s property, I started to feel annoyed by her vibe. She prattled on incessantly, breathlessly, and kept finding opportunities to stumble over rubble, nearly falling in his lap, biting her bottom lip and flipping her mane... I was put off.

Then I began to ask myself what was up with her weird, 1940s mid-Atlantic accent, which whiffs STRONGLY of Audrey Hepburn’s Dutch-come-French-come-British-come-Hollywood. No one has ever produced that particular cadence, before or since. Obviously an affectation, but what‘s her story?

I clicked on the link to her website under the About heading, and found that before this current incarnation wherein she lives with a Tuscan man called Guido (who lets her live with him and fund renovation projects out of her own pocket) on his family’s farm, she was an Australian travel TV producer and host who has been knocking around YouTube for several years making videos about manifesting your dreams of life in Italy, finding love, etc etc. As recently as a year ago, she sounded like Nicole Kidman lounging at home with Keith Urban. 🤔

Strange and potentially risky thing to do in this day and age, with so much content already out there documenting her real voice, to suddenly try and pull a fast one on her background! Shades of Hilaria Baldwin.

Although her footage is truly breathtaking and her content genuinely interesting, her incessant preening, ’smizing’, lip-chewing, in front of the camera is irritating beyond all measure to me. The faces she pulls, honestly. I feel like I’m a voyeur on the other side of her bathroom mirror watching her practise to be charming.

Hi guys,

I am glad to have found this forum.

I used to be an admirer of hers, because I am also into traveling, Mediterranean culture & food, classic Hollywood movies and vintage fashion. Also, I was taken away (or manipulated as I know now) by the passion for life she is showing in her videos and tried to be more like that. Finally, because of the COVID situation, I was really in need of some escapism in the past year.

However, I was always put off by the cringing lip-biting and the seductive looks. Then, because I really like some of her dresses, I looked them up online (they are mostly from Rouje) and they cost about 180€ each! Not that I would not invest that kind of money in a beautiful dress, but to have that kind of garment in your closet means you clearly are not poor. Lastly, the whole 50s-housewife vibe of the last few episodes has put me off completely. Not that I have anything against housewifes, I just find it boring to watch. I only liked the scenery but that is due to the beauty Tuscany has been blessed by God.

So, I started to get suspicious which led me to this forum and I am really happy I found it, because you guys opened my eyes and put into words things I was already suspecting. Like the deleting of negative comments (even cute baby videos do get negative comments by some trolls), the over romanticizing of Italy (yes, life in a country like that can be beautiful or even magical sometimes...but it can be brutal as well due to corruption, unemployment, poverty...etc.) and the narcissism (I am all for a healthy dose of confidence and self-love, but I could never act as a femme fatale in front of a camera and take myself seriously).

my biggest pandemic achievment  could we start brainstorming what we need to put in it? all I can think of is
- lying about her age
-pleading poverty
-that awful engagement video and the bizarre timescale and rushed nature of the wedding
- her accent
- judgemental nature about alcohol/sex
Hi @emm, thanks for starting this thread in the first place and please find a few more below!

- presenting a consistently false and Disneyfied view of Italy especially under Covid

- encouraging unhealthy parasocial relationships with her followers by suggesting they give her gifts and write to her personally leading to potentially dangerous obsessions and disappointments when she doesn’t/can’t live up to what she has promised.

- aggressive/bullying response to any commentators that question her or her vlogs

- deleting any comments that don’t glorify how wonderful she is in every aspect or that suggest different ideas to hers or that point out issues with her videos

- creating a fake “cult” following that is only filled with an entirely one-sided sycophantic or fawning commentariat

- Claiming having little or no money so begging her Patreons to keep paying, meanwhile she is living a luxurious life that most Italians couldn’t dream of right now

- sexualising her vlogs to sell her channel, herself and ultimately the holiday apartments

- keeping an narcissistic focus on herself in every video or vlog she posts

- hypocritical advice to followers about her life meanwhile she is doing the opposite of what she says

- playing on the vulnerabilities of some of her more naive followers

- using Patreon money to buy YouTube video views, comments, IG followers, likes and comments to create a false impression she is a lot more popular than she is and using this to sell herself to other businesses

It's also difficult to tell who she was dating or not. I would say this if genders were reversed. For example, 2 older videos I remember was some friend from Genoa/Liguria, Kylie was interviewing him and then had dinner together with his mother. All the comments were about how he obviously was in love with her, what a great couple they would be etc. Another was a friend from...Rome maybe? that went to visit her on the Amalfi coast. The constant touching, intensely looking into his eyes, flipping her hair, again...the comments were wild "Kylie he obviously loves you." "You act like a couple of lovers" etc etc. It's very hard to keep track when her "interviews" are so casual and full of dancing, eating etc
@Denise0211 this reminds me of another little scene from life in Rome that may be illuminating. I used to go to a gym near my house in the centro storico with my girlfriend that was tiny, like a postage stamp, and even though lots of tv stars and principesse went there, it was very friendly. One day Kylie came flouncing in (and she embodied ’flounce’) wearing minuscule pink shorts and a low cut top, all designed for maximum attention from the Italian male.

She ignored the polite greetings of the girl at the desk and the nice salutations of the trainers and other people in the room she knew and got on to the treadmill, put on her Bose headphones. I was in the adjoining room working out with my trainer but there was a view directly through the doors to her and the woman next to her on the treadmill who tried to talk to her as well but whom she brushed off before storming out. Kylie was rude and arrogant to everyone and there was a kind of disconnect from the reality around her. And at this point no one had even heard of her...or let’s say less than the limited audience she has on YouTube now😅

so interesting how many people have met her! I would be interested in what work area you met her? (if you are comfortable revealing that info obviously) I doubt she is even considering closing her youtube what else would she do otherwise? she is just saying it to get fawning comments from fans begging her not to. the comments about being anamazing journalist but unable to work from italy are just 🙄 I know australian journlists who are based in italy and work frèelance for australian publications
Hi @emm were you writing to me? I work in film and television in Rome and Kylie also wanted me to help her (for free) on some projects apart from the peculiar interview she did with my girlfriend. I’m afraid the coy and flirtatious behaviour and the fact that she thinks she knows more than people that work professionally in film made it impossible to offer her any help.😬

Sorry slight diversion, but I have just seen it discussed earlier that she said she couldn't afford health insurance (allegedly) for several years! What ?!

I don't know the details of her situation here so I may be mistaken, but who on earth moves to another country, and prioritises living in central apartments alone over essential things like health insurance ?! Furthermore, what message is this sending to her younger audience looking for info on moving abroad or just life advice in general ?!

I haven't watched the video again, I don't really have the patience to, but I hope that she explains that this was a foolish move, or I don't think she should have mentioned it at all, so her younger viewers don't get the same idea. It may not be glamorous but health insurance and an emergency fund is vital if you are living in a foreign country and are young, living alone with no family around you 🤦🏻‍♀️

If she was young I would be a little more understanding because we all make mistakes, and learning to manage your finances isn't always easy, but this lady is in her late thirties and moved to Italy in her late twenties didn't she?!
She lied. Completely. We know she has had her Greek passport for a few years now. That entitles her to the Italian health system.

Pages and ages ago I mentioned as having a student visa (which she said in the video with the lawyer she had had several) you MUST buy insurance to obtain the permesso di soggiorno/stay permit. No way around it, and I assume Spain is the same for their study permits.

So either she knocked about illegaly for years, lying about having permits, or she lied to embellish her "poor me" story. I think the latter.

I'm not interested in the fantasy/movie/dream videos. (Cuz I'm realistic about life and I face it, and don't need a stupid Disney princess escape.) So when I saw the dress-up love story on YouTube, I passed by it with a hard no. After comments here, I watched it. I thought, wow Kylie has friends and can work with people other than Guido, even if maybe they're neighbors! Uhhhh no, we learn at the end, they were ALL Kylie.

Let's see if her stories change to control the narrative she wants people to focus on. If she feels injured by people who say what's on their minds, well, there is no cure for her if she's a narc. If she's not a narc, she will heal in time and whether she comes out the other side better, worse or the same for it is entirely her decision to make.

*Speculation only* But I wonder if she developed a problem with alcohol along the way somewhere? She is so vocal about not drinking and judgey about it now, but it is clear she used to. My boyfriend doesn't really drink at all, but will have a sip of bubbly to clink glasses for a birthday or a bit of wine with friends to be polite at times. If you look at this video (more rich friends of Guido's), less than a minute in there is a?particular exchange between Kylie and whoever was serving. I remembered this video not only bc of the gorgeous villa but bc of the weird wine moment.

what is the peculiar exchange?

Hi @Tdrinker I thought it was really badly written and that she came out of it seeming pretty uncouth and ignorant...she was never published again in that newspaper. Her descriptions were so over the top and unlike the house style (I used to read it when I was studying in Australia). She’s a really bad writer.

Oh definitely mock @Denise0211 😅. To us she doesn’t sound Florentine at all (and not all Italians agree it is the best/top, especially those not from Tuscany!) but the try-hard accent seems a peculiar melange of influences like her English...
toally agree, the SMH piece was what I would call "flowery", just like something of a high school studnet trying to sound "romantic", what a non surprise she was never asked to do anything again . I don't think she has had some kind of issue with alcohol tbh but she just uses not drinking as a way to make herself seem better than people that do drink imo... I don't know about the italians in this thread, but from some of the more "traditional" italian men i knew when I lived there there was a big thing of men drinking bit women not so i don't know if this might be the case with guido, trying to be the perfect casalinga etc. Also now I imagine she is pregnant so....

I just braced myself and watched her Year of Joy video. The segment with her friend from wherever is in it (that I mentioned a few pages back). When I saw it I didn't realize it was so recent (last summer, evidently). Was she trying to make Guido jealous....or? Wow.
omg I have just watched around 10 minutes...so many thoughts already... first of all the italian government didn't "advise" people to stay at home, it was a legal requirement, second.... her acting as if it could be some kind of beautiful experience, yes I can imagine in a villa in the middle of the tuscan countryside when your work isn't really impacted it might be relaxing, less so if you are in a tiny cramped flat with no outside space and children who you are home schooling i would imagine?! she is just so out of touch it is unreal

Poor Guido. 😅 I can only image how many re-takes he's had to do for a perfect video. "No amore, you have to do it THIS way because that's what Italians do in films!!" 🙄😂😂

does anyone else find those awful? jesus these people are mad. even just the postage of all that stuff from the US would be insane. if I was her I'd be worried about ending up with a stalker tbh these people seem unhinged. the most I have seen influencers sent by individuals is food from their country to try.
@emm I think it is completely OTT. The gloves are a very impractical colour and will stain easily. I am assuming the lady from Austria is getting on a little, has no family and is probably decluttering. I am guessing the bricolage may be useful for Kylie if they want to equip the chicken coop for visitors. But I do think there's something rather dotty about the frequency and quantity of gifts this particular subscriber sends. While I would be touched by a token, say, at Christmas if someone wanted to show appreciation of my work, this would make me anxious if I were an influencer. Luckily I am Pliny in Torquay and work in a fish canning factory in Penzance. I do not attract this level of adoration in my life. 🤣

So with some restrictions easing at the end of this month, what type of content would you like from Kylie?
Although with the work on the chicken coop and restoring I imagine that is pretty much what we will see until they move there.
I don't mind seeing her cook if she focuses on that with anecdotes, instead of dancing and hip thrusting. And perhaps not being passive aggressive ,snobby or ignorant about other methods (In some ragú video she acted repulsed by the carne macinata/ground meat version....which is the traditional Bolognese ragú, and acted as if the whole meat version she did was some secret and "superior." No. She made a half-arsed Neapolitan version.)
I wish she would later film more in Florence, or maybe show the coastline. Anything but total countryside and playing housewife.
I've unfollowed her now, this forum has confirmed many of my thoughts and that bonkers engagement video was the last straw for me ha
