It's 1000% the tax thing. Most of these 'influencers' work out of their laptops, selling guides and plans and zoom calls. If they live in Dubai for 6 months of the year or more, it is all counted as tax free as technically that is their 'main' home. So they pay zero tax and then can fly home for the rest of the year. Mostly they never mention this, as moving across the world away from your family and real friends in order to avoid paying tax is seen as awful. So they pretend that Dubai is a dream and the weather is better and it's easier to make connections and contacts, which, isn't entirely wrong I guess, as a lot of influencers now do this, so there is people to collaborate with and make friends for a few months with, but overall it's money related. It's not even necessarily a bad thing, who wants to pay tax? nobody. But it just comes across as another soulless venture fuelled by money and a false reality of happiness.
