Dont know if that gummy bear tip is an American thing though because I dont know where youd get sugar free gummy bears.

I was reading up on what sweereners to avoid - Maltitol is one and Xylitol is another that should be avoided on Keto

Maltitol can give you the people, to be blunt  . Xylitol isn't too bad from my experience but it's toxic to dogs so I'd avoid if you own dogs.

I have sucralose (not to be confused with sucrose which is sugar) in my tea and I bake with erythritol.
It's worth noting everyone reacts differently to sweeteners too.]

Sainsburys stock Free'ist who make sugar free sweets and chocolate made with maltitol.

The boots NAS chocolate is nice.

The boots diabetic chocolate is absolutely gorgeous, but my god it’s lethal! You won’t be able to leave the house for hours!

Be careful with Maltitol, I’ve just learnt it raises your blood sugar nearly as much as sugar! Companies still use it and can write sugar free even though it still causes the spike in your sugars and the insulin response!

Funnily enough I've never had an issue with it! But a close friend of mine can't have it anymore because of an "incident"

Someone upthread was asking about Electrolytes...

I was using the ZERO tablets that you put in water (https://highfive.co.uk/products/zero) I put them into MFP and it came up 0g carbs but just found out they’re actually 0.5g carbs each, I was having 4 a day! Also they’re expensive and they have a very little amount of the electrolytes you need.

I’ve just purchased these Electrolyte tablets from Amazon, contain 4 times the amount as the zero tablets and no carbs. You have to take them on a full stomach it says and take 2 per day. They work out a lot cheaper too, £7 for a 3 month supply

I had a lough do pizza for lunch and it was good, topped with mozzarella, ham and mushrooms, I used maybe just under a tablespoon of purée with some oil in it, the base was 2g carbs!

Ah yes I sometimes take these! Great if I feel rough. I take so many supplements and I hate taking pills😭

Day 3 menu
Bacon and Brie
Lodough pizza
Burgers and salad

Had a long walk and did a boxing and abs workout, still not feeling too bad but most things seem to say it hits you day 4/5

Hi! I've been on keto for 10 days now, I bought some erythritol to bake with and have done 2 recipes with way less than the required amount and the baked thing makes my mouth tingle so much I can't eat it! Does yours do that? I did it with cookies and mini meringues and both were inedible.

I've not had that issue myself, but a place I order cakes from uses it and I get the icy tingle when having anything with buttercream on it!

Had a bit of a wake up call this morning when I haven’t lost this week and I think I’ve been too relaxed with the calorie counting. 🐷

I’ve just recalculated my macros with the calculator on Reddit which seems to be a bit different from my CarbManager calculations.

My goals for weight loss are:

999 calories / 90g Protein / 62g large / 21 Carbs.

Anyone else mind sharing theirs? I’m a healthy BMI but I want to lose a stone or two.

Where are people buying jalapeños from? Can’t find them for the life of me!
I always find them in Sainsbury’s, near the gherkins and pickled onions, etc. Or sometimes with the Mexican Old El Paso kits!

I had a terrible nights sleep last night... could not drop off until gone 3am! I first tried chamomile tea, then I got hungry and had some bacon covered in cheddar..., then an hour later got more hungry and ate a carb loaded Battle bites protein bar (it was lush hah). I had a google and found its a common thing people experience on Keto 🥺 so I’ve ordered melatonin tablets to take from Amazon!

On the bright side.. I have now lost 3lb in the last 3 days! Without bothering with calories!

Think I’ve just found my favourite quick meal.. I found this gorgeous smoked chicken sausage (only 0.5g carbs for 100g) and I fried it in a bit of sugar free maple syrup and served it with 15ml blue cheese dressing (1.5 g carbs for 15ml)... Literally HEAVEN! I’ve stocked up on my favourite blue cheese dressing 😚 it’s so good

I’ve been reflecting and I can’t help feeling so proud of myself. After years and years of sugar addiction, eating up to 100g sugar per day, even going back as far as I can remember to when I was a 10 year old and used to steal the chocolate chip packets from the baking cupboard and eat them by myself in my room 😳.. to go from that to now day 4 of less than 5g sugar every day, and to actually be enjoying it and eating delicious food. It’s a huge weight off for me 😭
