She definitely is very hands on with the girls, lots of baking and she plays with them all the time.

No it’s not a cellar, it’s down a few steps (I’m assuming the plot the house is on is on a slant) and it’s essentially a porch area with their back door, a cupboard, and a coal shed.Oh thank god I thought I was going mad I couldn't find the Meldrums thread! A small snug dining room or study be more beneficial than a playroom.I absolutely agree and actually when I was watching her video I did wonder if they couldn’t extend that area to make it the width/length as the kitchen and open it up to an open plan kitchen/living/dining area somehow. Surely that would be more useful to them. Imagine when the 3 girls are teenagers and they are all squeezed around that breakfast bar, meanwhile 45 yr old warren has to still stand to eat his tea

The girls have other space to play. It’s not a long term plan how they currently eat their meals.

If they extended properly they could a decent sized space there that would do a dining room and have space for storage as well. They don’t seem to value a dining room at all. But no way would I have my family eating like that with one person standing every night!
She did say (maybe on insta?) that later in life when the girls don’t use it as a playroom she’ll have it as a utility instead. Didn’t get that at all.

I was thinking surely the girls would still use it anyway? We are lucky enough to have a playroom and I know when the kids are bigger it’ll be repurposed as “their” area, for if friends are round etc.Why even do a playroom, for it to have to be redone into something else when the kids grow out of toys?
