It is. There were lots of kids at my sons old school that had autistic type of behaviours, but the behaviour was as a result of other conditions not because they had a specific, separate diagnosis of autistic spectrum disorder.
A similar thing happens with ADHD. My son is autistic but for years he had ‘features of ADHD’ on his paperwork. He did eventually get a separate diagnosis of ADHD, but quite often they do use ‘behaviours’ or ‘features of’ just as helpful descriptive terms.

Re the drugs and drinking when pregnant.
As a simple statemen, all pregnant women are advised to cut out, smoking, minimise drinking alcohol and, I think, cut down on coffee. Eat healthily, take exercise, don’t overdo it, get plenty rest you all know this with any reminding from me.
No doctor has ever said:
‘Oh, snorting cocaine, that’s fine.’
'Getting legless, that’s OK, don’t worry if you fall over’,
‘One-night stands -an excellent idea, have fun’ - if so, the world would be full of drugged up legless pregnant women.
Everything about Harvey his history and his future is a tragedy, and whatever is said and whatever counter arguments are presented I believe KP’s behaviour whilst pregnant was a major contributor to his condition. I accept the genetic history may just be true but as we have heard so many lies over the years I find it difficult to believe, I also think it makes a good cover story for her behaviour whilst pregnant.
Another case of where she is a victim of men, in this case Havey’s issues are all due to DY’s faulty genetic makeup and beyond her control.

With my third, I craved fresh earth, I used to lick potatoeswith my fourth and last pregnancy I munched my way through a breeze block and craved cement. My son was born weighing 11 lbs! I think most of that was the breeze block lol. It literally took over my life at the time (the cravings)

My son was diagnosed with ADHD which we had always thought he had but also got a diagnosis of Autism at the same time
A colleagues daughter was born with a syndrome, she has learning difficulties etc. I'm sure she also has ADHD or/and is on the autistic spectrum but the mother would not have this looked into when the child was younger. There was no history of the syndrome on either side of the family. My reason for mentioning this is because the mother smoked through pregnancy, I remember seeing her in town heavily pregnant puffing away, I always wondered whether this caused the syndrome?
In my lads case it was obvious to me that he had ADHD as I’ve got Aspergers and ADHD myself, but his paediatrician didn’t want to bother with a formal diagnosis as she didn’t feel it would make much difference to his support package at school. When he got a bit older he really started to struggle at school so he was eventually referred to a psychologist who diagnosed him straight away and put him on medication.
So it must be two dogs there and loadsa mirrors?
