Oh no that's so sad! I used to work for the BBC, many years ago now though so I don't have any contacts there sadly. I worked in the finance office in Broadcasting house, fun times.

I don't either. I reckon this is a tax scam so that they get a lot of free advertising, pay what they can't avoid for the venue, deduct their own expenses, and send a pittance to Africa.

Looking at the accounts for cancel cancer africa it's a pretty small scale charity though, In it's best year it raised around £50,000. Not a huge amount for a cancer charity.

Totally agree, I loved the Apollo, even up in the gods was still brilliant. Went to loads of brilliant concerts but bowies was the best . Myself and a BF at the time had to take my little sister to the bay city rollers , think we were the only 2 sitting in the whole Apollo.
