Ummm you know how random I get, but it's all cultural influence and an example of how media can affect us maybe even subconsciously.
Imagine if you will you just broke up with a guy and you are feeling a bit 'off the rails'. Imagine if you will you are a young woman a tad confused about your sexuality too. What you gonna listen to on the old stereo? What are you going to sing into the mirror mirror on the wall?
Whereas I personally am more a fan of Martha Wainwrights, YMF, or Flo and her dogs days are over, I did indeed myself used to love a listen to Alanis. Someone very kindly on another thread (ssssssh, its secret) just reminded me of her song '
House' from the
Jagged Little Pill album, the song is about sneaking into your exes house, hiding in the shower, finding out someone has cheated on you and...putting
poo salt in their bed, it's ends like this....
'
And no, it wasn't my writing
I better go soon
It wasn't my writing.
So forgive me, love
If I cry in your shower
So forgive me, love
For the salt in your bed.'
Oh and the one whose name I now refuse to utter because of her filthy love of bombs is a big fan of Alanis Morrisette too......I wonder what Alanis thinks of all this!
