They must reeeally be fed up struggling for content. I'm willing to bet James wasn't necessarily dashing to film himself in his hotel in that last one, giving the play by play about how they had to go get his clothes, and then even filming the interview. I bet that was more a matter of Clair not wanting/ having any content at home and it was either telling him here you take it and come up with something, or nothing.
I always think it would be really rough to be a youtuber once you start not to enjoy it or lack content or if the thing you're trying to film very much varies depending on many factors. Like they're not always out or travelling like some, or have jobs that they can regularly film everything on that they know people click on every time, but sometimes when the fodder for the vlogs IS your life and you're burning out, it's bound to be like this.
Also James could do more work related stuff and literally just tag the camera along all day but he doesn't at all seem like one who'd wanna do that. I honestly don't even blame him; I think them getting their start during the pandemic is what made it seem like they could "go all the way" with this thing, and with YT as saturated as it is with people trying to get their subs up in competition, it's just gonna be an uphill battle it seems.
I did YT for a good few years trying to promote my channel, myself.. etc also in as honest a way as possible, like without clickbait etc and it was just soul-sucking trying to keep up, and I'm just a nobody! so I know they maybe thought they could take it to like 500-600k or 1mil subs or something but it's just suuuper hard, especially if you're starting to slow down or you don't have some sort of provocative content, probably why they pushed them to get into reels.
