She’s been in that bungalow house since last February, so it’s perfectly feasible she’s on a rolling contract now (saves on agency fees for the landlord, not having a yearly contract drawn up). From my hazy memory (as a landlord and working for one of the big agencies though not in letting) it’s one month’s notice from tenant, or two months from landlord, though I think this is negotiable, and Covid will have changed it all anyway. Which is a lot of words to say it really could be fixed or rolling. Shrug.

This "rolling monthly" stuff is grade-A balls. I worked in a lettings agency on Saturdays when I was a teenager. Managed lets - the landlords want long rentals, so there are no gaps or empty periods, and they leave everything to the agency to do. If Jack and Louisa said they wanted the bungalow but they had a cat, the landlord (or landlady, as Jack has said, but more likely a landlord, as Jack likes to send people down the garden path) would say "ok then, I'll accept that - it's a long rental and it's a couple, so it's ok", etc.

Jack is a pathological liar.
It automatically goes onto a rolling contract when the contract runs out and isnt renewed. Im in a managed let and mine has run out before due to a landlord overseas not being on the ball. Landlords are known for being difficult with pets, they used to be able to take a bigger fee but now fees are banned.

What was she replying to? Doesn’t sit right with me that she mentions raising SB, sandwiched between comments about her pets. Raising a child is quite different...
I googled 'Jack Monroe Lies' and it was one of the images that came up.
It must be a screenshot someone took as I'm sure this would have all gone in a great delete-fest.

They will go so unbelievably aggressive and nasty, and try and ruin you if you so much as hint at questioning their fake version of reality. It’s not for the faint hearted, not at all. If you say something like “I don’t know why you’re Tweeting your financial situation” you’d get back a tirade of abuse that includes every crappy thing about yourself that you’d ever told them in confidence, mixed with a loaf of stuff that doesn’t even make sense to the argument, but leaves you bewildered
They’re not ‘normal’, they exist purely on the energy they steal, anyone attempting to cut off that flow of energy sends them over the edge. That’s why her unwell mum and busy dad, and her son’s dad, just ignore, IMO. It’s not worth being ripped to shreds over.
This, just this. It happened to me with oh's family member, i have never known such vitriol thrown at me. And then afterwards she couldn't understand why I no longer wanted to go to their house and be all pally.

I just used to nod and agree with her, so I can totally get why Jack's family don't call her out. Look what happened to Jack's brother when he did, she attacked him physically!

I know someone who is a recipient of the heating benefit and it's only about 150 pounds. So not alot in the grand scheme of things if everyone gets a similar cut.

If indeed she really is struggling for money this bad she really needs to start thinking long-term. Everyone's money is limited now and there will only be so much more than they can physically give.

She needs to organise herself a better more secure financially job and set herself a decent budget. I understand it hard to struggle quietly but she needs to time tone the woe or is me and stop tugging at peoples heart strings so much.

I am not rich I'm fact I am pretty skint but I don't show it. I get my money and work out how much I will need for everything and budget accordingly, yes sometimes the pinch nips harder than others but I still try and manage with that I have until I get some more money. I live within my means and save really hard for any splurges and even then they are budgeted.
She needs to talk financial adviser and get her money into gear and get herself of her feet. This money will help but again it's not secure and it's not long term
It is £140 for the warm home discount (under 65s) but the winter fuel allowance is for over 65s and is £200

Pets? She has them on rotation doncha know....
Shouldn't be getting a dog if she's really struggling for money/anxious about the future. I want to take in a 2nd cat but I'm holding off right now as future seems precarious. She's a very entitled "know it all" isn't she?

And got praised for it by the squiggles. If it had been the other way around they’d of been lighting their pitchforks.

What did Jack do to her brother?! I'm intrigued.

Been grunkering for days now. My friend is friends with the person who owns Jacks house. She’s not happy with jacks description of a crappy bungalow. Don’t know the rental contract or what she pays per month. But. My friends also rents. She says jack must be on at least 4 times her salary to afford where she lives as my friend would be unable to rent in that area on her ok salary.
Not much tea to spill really but I could probably get more if I pumped my friend more. But I don’t feel comfortable doing that.
Please tell your friends landlord that I love that house, its in no way crappy or indeed a bungalow. She is so lucky not to have anyone at the back of her, just the tennis courts (this came from Jack), and to be detached. I wish I could afford it

Raising a child is not the same as raising a dog.

Unfortunately plenty of people who have raised children can still be terrible neglectful dog owners.

Wait, what account is this? And when was this?
I was raised, for a time, by AMAZING grandparents until it was decided that I should go back to an inadequate mother..
Life was not easy and I'm glad we had no pets.
