Thing is, if you take it from Ab to C, it would either be too high or too low when you take into account her repeated vocal fry and reedy little head voice. Bunging it down to Fm would make it more manageable, what with anything F being a generally more manageable key than anything in G (for anyone except small children doing hymns in school) but you'd still have the four flats.

Sometimes, just because something can be done, it doesn't mean it should.

In any case, Faure's is far better. Especially as it's in Bb to start with, so transposing a semitone is a realistic prospect, and was written with accessibility/non professional singers in mind.

I didn't know that about Faure's! And I was thinking about transposing to C but forgetting about her singing along!
