For me, the stand out thing that she did that pissed me off was begging for money on Twitter at the start of lockdown. When people were in financial uncertainty themselves and it was such a scary time for some. I was utterly disgusted with her for that.

I think it might be good to add a list of all the expensive homewares that the patreon is funding too - I know some have been mentioned upthread. There’s the dyson fan and dyson hairdryer, 3 or 4 x brand new cotswold co bits of furniture, the two garden swing chairs, the fancy alarm clock, the Oooni and gawd knows what else. (But she cant afford a tutor for her son. Or vet’s bills).
Oh and it also seems likely she paid for lip fillers too (though this isn’t proven so should probably be left out).

The time it was revealed she had named the disabled kitten with a short life expectancy the same as her exes beloved childhood dog was very chilling.
How frustrating that I unfollowed so as to not add to her stats...and she locks up! In saying that, I know it will be more of the same, with more sycophants stroking her ego so probably not missing too much!
Just want to add my love for Grunkas post - and agree it should be front and centre of all links over here. It certainly speaks for me. After I unfollowed, I also ended up unfollowing a few other accounts because they would re-tweet effusive praise of her into my timeline. The POTATOES piece especially. If there was a comprehensive “eye-opener” available, then it might be easier to say to people in real life at least, that we like, “Here - read this, I am interested in your opinion”.

I put money into her business to help out food banks when she did the push to buy a copy of Tin Can Cook for them - and since then have discovered (like all of us) that she is just an absolute shameless fraud. When I read a food bank, after some chasing, got some photocopies of a few recipes, I was considerably less than impressed. I imagine most of her more affluent followers chipped in for quite a few copies to go out to the food banks too. Would love stats on THAT little venture. “Buy my book for the poor people pleeeaaase”. Then barely send any out.
She is the one that wants to be famous and on telly, talking pieces on the radio, and in the Guardian, speaking events about her “poor upbringing”, She is the one that is monetising her private life. So suck it up and take the rough with the apparently very lucrative smooth.

I think this does explain though why Jack has so few Patreon subscribers (compared to the number of SM followers she has). If she’s not providing the promised content, or the promised content is a bit shite, then people will not sign up at all or will cancel - unless they have more money than sense.It doesn’t seem like they police their creators - from their ‘help’ section it appears that the creator is of the utmost importance and the supporters have to confront them about lack of reward and requesting refunds directly. The ball is very much in the creator’s park. Even in the case of someone making a one year pledge and the creator providing none of the expected benefits from day one, they cannot claim a refund. Their approach seems to be that the money is to support the creator and not necessarily to obtain the benefits (53 postcards a month, opportunity to submit your own slop, etc) that you’re led to believe you will be given... (??)
Honestly reading about this is really putting me off Patreon. I completely agree that creators need more protection from issues like spending hours on a commission only for the recipient to say they don’t like it and refuse to pay... but not offering any help to supporters who are getting duck all of what they were promised? Their philosophy is Jacklogic: I promised you those rewards THEN, when you paid, not NOW
All you can do is cancel your pledge so they won’t get any future payments
I support one project on Patreon - a podcast which releases most of their content for free, I pay only about £3/month for the extras. The creators have taken a few months off and while I wouldn’t have minded continuing to support them despite getting nothing, they paused everyone’s pledges because I guess they have integrity, respect their supporters and feel like they should deliver on their promises
I don’t know anything about the charity commission but charities have to be registered and you can’t set up a charity to benefit a specific person to my knowledge. Sorry Jack(not really)

The only thing I feel awkward about in my previous postings is regarding knowing where she lives. However this is all based on things she herself has posted online and me knowing the area well. I would never go there or post any exact location but she’s made it bloody easy for people to find. For someone who was apparently stalked and concerned for her safety she plays fast and loose with location details.

This was the turning point for me also. Especially as she was still living with someone else who was working/earning. She seemed to be getting plenty of work herself.
Remember, this is the woman who seriously wanted to crowdfund for a house.

You. Nothing more needs said!This is what brought me to Tattle. I've followed her for years and so much has been 'off' but never saw her made accountable for anything. She even got away with the awful comment about David Camerons son without too much of a fuss. At the start of lockdown I was genuinely so worried about family and friends and the future and there she is complaining about work being cancelled and begging for money. Whilst living with her well paid partner.
Also whoever wrote the post about using Patreon as a charity is spot on. It's not there to provide money to buy your families food and pay bills because the freelance work has dried up. It's money in exchange for regular, meaningful, creative content.
Incredible post @GrunkaLunka and also @heretoreaditall2019 - we are not worthy! Agree with @Pocahontas that they’re fairly objective and think the sheer support shows we are all on the same page.
Could we also add @Dogmuck post (possibly from last thread?) about how JM has no legal footing somewhere in the recap? It was so succinct and brilliant as well as debunking that JM has anything on us so to speak. I think the sheer nastiness/pile ons that JM instigates can/does at times really unnerve/intimidate people, especially when she mentions her ‘lawyer’. Dogmuck’s post is a good reminder that she doesn’t have a foot to stand on (and only furthered by the fact we’ve said we’re not sharing posts now she is private).
