Funny she mentions the break she took after DKL. As if she had any choice in the matter 😂
Was the 'TV show (!)' she is referring to here that one off with Dr Rupy?

All day for a 2 min video on Instagram? Is she serious? For one thing, why that long? And why so many people to clear up around her etc. I follow Claire Thomson aka 5oclockapron & she produces some brilliant content which always takes less than 60 seconds to watch, takes as long to film as the recipes themselves since she knows what she’s doing & videos it herself as she’s going along, at least AFAIK. Always so much performative nonsense with Jack 🙄

Madness isn't it. Especially when you consider that THAT MAN did a whole run of programmes during lockdown with his wife filming him on her iPhone.

Hang on a cotton picking minute…
Did she not say, on the way to Cambridge, that she always says no when offered makeup before an event?!

She loves to think people are so attentive on a TV set because it is HER. Apparently they are always chuckling fondly at her gamine naivety, gently, softly telling her how great she was, being charmed by the way she does the washing up when she doesn't have to and gazes up transfixed at studio lights
It's all nonsense. I imagine most of the time the crew were gritting their teeth at her lack of professionalism and her constantly getting in the way. A TV show doesn't need a needy amateur, but someone who'll come in ON TIME, and will just do the job in a pleasant and professional manner.

Oh dear. Guest is defo buying followers. As we know these people have to be SCREENED, to get into comments club, so we know that they are not accidental bots. I wonder how many she’s actually losing on a daily basis to be pulling this stunt? Just an example of lots of her recent new followers - all JIM BOB numbers but all zeros 0 have a strike through and they are all accounts set up in April or May 23 - all of them are following 7 and have 0 followers. Not squiggling as they are bots. What a life Guest, what a life.

BIB for thread title.

You‘re absolutely right - it’s why she so bloody useless at everything. I just watched Dr Rupy’s launch video on YouTube

Compare that to guest’s comic kitchen. And now he’s on tv all the time, has a podcast, has published books, a website (with FREE recipes) and now has an app.

Her idea of working is like when I had my mum’s old typewriter as a kid and I pretended i was typing important letters 🤣
Plus Rupy has an actual day job (AND is doing a masters degree) in addition to all that. Which makes Jack look doubly useless.

Quite. Made it all the more ridiculous all these people on twitter saying guest should 100% have a programme - when they had no idea how bad she would be 😂
Nigella even suggested she have programmes simultaneously on BBC1 and BBC2 as her work was so vital 😂 I kid you not.
People had gone barmy mind you. On his programme JO had been chastised on twitter for cheerily shaking a bag of dried pasta, this was seen as mocking those who couldn't find pasta in the shops.

ETA Feckin eejits the pair of them 😂

I love this sycophantic hyperbolic peripatetic hysteria from poshos around Jack being so brilliant at cooking for the Poors™️. Yes, Nigella, why don’t we have Jack on every channel like some kind of dystopian big brother channel where you can’t escape from the same messages. Wtf is this, budget cooking North Korea? Imagine every time you flick between channels you just get a different Jack!

BBC1 meek and mild very Matt Much Jack. BBC2 Subversive Jack with Uber edgy clothes such as a flannel shirt and (buttery soft) leather trousers? ITV it’s Cath Kidston witch NIMBY Tory Jack chuckling along on This Morning. Ch4 emo alternative biker boots from M&S making jokes about fisting Jack, bit gauche?

Utterly tedious. I mean... she's a complete non-entity.

She has no talent, no star power, no intelligence, no charisma. Completely devoid of all the things that make 'celebrities' famous. When you strip the posturing and the lying away, what are you left with?

She is entirely unremarkable, apart from her scamming and weird ability to convince morons that she's some kind of modern day saint. Baffling Terrible.

I often think about her tweet where she talked about being told she was “difficult” on set and now she’s been booted by United Agents I should imagine it was, in fact, Rosemary who had this delicate talk with her in an attempt to rescue her TV career. Jack, however, being an insane narc, took this as a personal affront and evidence that she was clearly just Too Working Class and Neurodiverse for telly instead of making an attempt to behave any better on set or, you know, actually prepare for the work she was being paid for.

Delicious, really. Or - certainly tastier than anything Jack makes.
Looking back, there were a few times that Jack said she was meeting Rosemary, or even that Rosemary went over to Southend. Reading between the lines, I think there were a few times that Jack was told in no uncertain terms that she had to get her act together. Whether she actually heard or understood any of this is another matter.
She’s had more than enough chances. Chances that many other (more talented) people can only dream of. In fact, it’s hard to imagine *anyone* else being given the chances she has, especially since she’s proved time and time again that she can’t be arsed to make even the minimal amount of effort, is unreliable and unprofessional.
At least the chickens are finally coming home to roost though. She’s clearly been blacklisted by pretty much anyone she’s worked with.

I was having a conversation today at work which made me think of Jack (I try not to). Without outing myself, I work in a field linked to addiction/trauma and have lived experience of both. This is relevant as I have a new colleague who doesn’t. Today, we had a conversation as basically, she picks the wrong battles. So she is very keen to help and get it right but she focuses on something like “did I use the right way of identifying your circumstances?” Rather than dealing with the crisis and maybe rephrase and this isn’t actually the issue you think it is? My point being, Jack focuses on the issues she THINKS matters because, maybe just maybe, she hasn’t actually experienced most of what she claims to have? Or to be generous, not recently so doesn’t understand the current climate? I know this point has been raised before but it really stood out today.

Some of the best I work with don’t have lived experience but what they do is listen, they educate themselves and they throw themselves into doing all they can to learn And help with change. I fail to see what Jack has achieved?

Beyond anything, I am astonished how she can’t see how teaching “the poors” how to make a quiche for the coronation isn’t just bad taste but also again plays into the narrative of “if you just tried harder…..” or has never had the experience of being so beyond skint that you eat sugar for a week so electric And money for flour is beyond at that point.

it’s made me sad writing this, it’s why I avoid her thread a lot because she is abusing multiple narratives I’ve lived, survived and lost people too. She really harms progress and I’ve questioned more than once if she is some sort of plant.

what I will point out to Jack is that in all my time, I’ve never seen her doxxed or abused (rare occasion someone goes too far, it’s pulled straight away) People are worried; they are upset; it’s causing huge harm but none of that matters in Jack World, it’s all about YOU.

I mean it must've been bad for her not to be invited on Saturday Kitchen Live three years later 😂
Almost unthinkable when she was the 'co host' on DKL. She can spin it all she wants that she chose to have a break from TV, but she 100% was dumped.
I bet she wanged on endlessly about how tired she was and how hard she was working when the other presenters and crew just stood looking at each other with raised eyebrows.

THAT MAN's child regularly delivers more cooking content than guest.

I don't like to speculate, but if I were forced to I'd suggest having access to too many technical gubbins caused her to accidentally delete the whole site in an act of incompetence. She clearly didn't keep any backups because whatever happened could not be easily remedied.

ETA: depending on the hosting provider, self hosted Wordpress can be more vulnerable to malware attacks
Looks like she's been with wordpress dot com for pretty much the whole time, apart for a few months with Siteground in 2018:

Looks like wordpress dot com cancel your account 30 days after a billing failure, and they delete their backups 30 days after that. I reckon it's more likely that she'd miss a bill for a couple of months than make some sort of tech fuckup that wordpress support couldn't help her recover from... but who knows, really.

Definitely. I think on DKL in particular it was clear that she was making everyone’s job much harder. That is an no-no in any job. And live TV is stressful enough without having to babysit some incompetent fool that has been foisted on you just because Nigella made a phone call to your boss. Matt was visibly stressed by it, and normally he’s a very affable host (which is why he’s been doing it so long).
And yet Jack thought she was being cute and adorable and everyone just loved clearing up after her chaos. People in telly can be very polite and encouraging when things go wrong (which Jack will have interpreted as fulsome praise), but they must have been absolutely gritting their teeth at DKL. Still, I wonder if she’s worked out yet that she was SO difficult and unpleasant to work with that this is what got her blacklisted by the Saturday Kitchen lot.

She clearly thinks it’s that she’s too fascinated by lights and sometimes has to look down at her notes that mean people call her difficult, she’s blissfully unaware it’s her attitude, complete lack of prep and the fact that she inevitably seems to spend half of whatever she’s doing with her back to the camera silent. If it wasn’t so horrifying, it would almost be impressive how delusional she is.
Also she can't cook and she knows duck all about politics or poverty. Last time she went on she was fawning over herself for that comment about the Torys being incompetent as if they've accidentally ducked the poor... about as accurate as saying poors need to be more resilient with their budgets.

I find it crazy she writes everything longhand in her stupid notebooks when it would be so much easier and quicker to use a spreadsheet. And probably easier on her achy hands too
I know, with anything computer she can always use the “deleted it, mate” excuse like she did with her publisher for two years (it’s on post-it’s/my wifi is ouchie/my save button has bad mentals/the computer has locked me out or “is upstairs”) you think she’d pretend to do everything on a computer which can easily be blamed for the non-appearance of the “work”
