I’m another Archers lover, received my Academic Archers badge in the post this week.
I’m proud to say my daughter is the first woman in the family on my side to graduate from uni.
I thought we were rich growing up as we had a car, for my dad’s work. I think that staying near where your family are is a good indication of class - MC/UC move wherever the jobs are, if you are WC you are less likely to move as you are more likely to be worried about family networks if you or they need help.

It is quite possible that L has learnt how to best 'manage' emotional roller coaster moments with JM and a quick like actually buys her less grief?
Do we need to stage an intervention? Only joking, I know we can’t go into RL and interfere.

That’s certainly the impression I get. Other than a ‘like’ there is no other interaction.

Who the duck is Vonny?
Aching ovaries! I feel quite sick 🤢 🤮🤢
Vommy De La Berk is a character who both does and does not deserve a thread of their own. Her attention seeking and inconsistencies really really upset me, more so than Monroe. To Jackie’s credit she has actually published books. Vom will just pose with books and depending on her whim, will be a serious author or an undiscovered french intellectual from the 19th century or a refreshingly frank feminist thinker™️ and so on. If you catch me writing anything else about her on here, please ban me.

Jack seems to be sickeningly in love with her on IG! I’ve never heard of her.

Mine too. Keeping the peace. Not wanting to the ex to really veer off the rails or to be accused of abandoning her or cutting her off.

I've mentioned this before but on L's instagram she posts cakes JM made her captioned ' I'm so lucky' and I can't help hearing JM saying that if you were in a relationship with her: 'you're so lucky' .

I don’t care about Jack anymore, she’s somehow moved beyond even my deepest contempt. However! Paradoxically, I actually do care what the cabal have got to say about her. Everyone who posts here is just so clever, and kind. I genuinely don’t think I’ve seen the likes of it online before, not that I’m on forums much, but let’s say mumsnet or whatever. The camaraderie and support, really and truly, what a gang. Such open and selfless consideration, and such thoughtfulness. Someone could really learn a thing or two from you vile trolls.

Hey everyone,

Gosh it feels like forever since I was last writing in real time. It turns out following Jack and working full time aren’t compatible and so it’s meant I’ve been GL’ing in the evenings. Who’d have thought it!

When me and the person I’m kind of dating started talking, Tattle was one of the things we have in common surprisingly! We used to talk about it and JM a lot, but I think it’s trailed off for her and she’s not one for posting on the forum. Unlike me.

My observations on the kitten have been mainly sitting open mouthed at Jack and her selfishness in regards to the kitten.

It’s plain as day to see that this kitten has been brought in by Jack as a prop to help get Louisa back - the kitten porn videos are actually retching. For someone who is so obsessed with social media she actually has no self awareness. You can see that everything is to get at Louisa - the kitten porn, the she left, the posting memories thing.

The fact she is keeping this poor kitten alive despite vets saying that she should be PTS, is actually animal cruelty. Why aren’t the vets referring her to some sort of agency for help? The mite is placed in strategic positions by Jack, forced to walk on her poorly legs, it’s animal abuse. I’m so angry even typing this.

Whoever said that Jack will find a tweet from days ago and write ‘she died’ on it after a silence nailed it. She will do exactly that because of the attention she will get, rather than questions if she does some huge post. I really hope Noel tells her to duck off.

Jack is a narcissist, probably the worst one I’ve ever encountered. One day her followers will learn and she will disappear from social media. An absolute bleep and she can rot for all I care, she has a defenceless beautiful creatures life in her hands and would rather have her saviour complex than do the right thing. A total bleep.
I agree. It’s funny how once you spot a narcissist you can see their behaviour so clearly. The hard bit is spotting the narc in the first place, when you are being manipulated. Also, it’s good to see you back BT :)

I’ve been thinking about class reading all your replies, maybe it’s a Scottish thing but it certainly doesn’t seem to be as obvious up here? Sure someone will correct me. I am a very strange mix, my Dad grew up WC in a Council house but had a good job. My Mum grew up MC by virtue of her Dad owning a shop and they lived in a nice suburb. Parents married and bought a house in nice MC area.
Terrible separation due to addiction and DV and Mum left and had to rent. So we lived in a rented property that was freezing, sleeping in clothes and me staying wherever I could so my Mum could work full time to keep our heads above water. Sorry all sounds a bit JM, I know! Back in those days no money was required to be paid by Dad (still holding down good job) so he didn’t.

Over the years Mum was promoted again and again and became an Area Director in her field. I’ve been so lucky to have such a strong female role model. I reckon I’m likely MC but no Uni for me as Mum couldn’t afford it, and no Land Rover as we couldn’t afford a car! My lovely Grandpa did take me to dance lessons though ❤

Sorry for the essay but that is why I get annoyed at JM, just get on with it. My Mum did, back in the day when there was no financial or care support. She worked hard and made really nice food from not much, always inspired by the books she loved Elizabeth David etc

@Doobots did you notice she started doing them for free then after a week or 2 there was a charge. Very clever!
I did not! She first came to my attention whilst moaning about not being able to afford Edinburgh rent whilst offering a place she has in the country to someone to stay, saying it was very modest and where she went to write! Oh so relatable. And don't get me started on her Corona eye patch 🙄 I would love to watch her and Jack in face-to-face conversation to see who has the hardest life.

Yes. Her niche. Not his. He doesn’t feed slop. No one eats slop. People like texture. Crunch. Bite. All of that can also be done on a very tight budget. She’s so far off the mark with her pitch and USP.
This is what bugs me about the cooking! I love crispy, crunchy food and none of her recipes have that. It's just one stew after another.

Exactly. What is simpler than home made flat breads, hummus and veg? Cheap wraps? Etc. They cost pennies. No slop required.

There's a bit of discussion about Vonny on thread 32, from page 29 onwards, BTW.

Yay - my class has been confirmed! Avid Archers fan here too, even in lockdown (although I admit it REALLY IS hard work at the moment!). Radio4 and World Service when politics kicks in...so I AM middle class, despite spending huge parts of my childhood and early adulthood fairly skint , on council estates, in poor schools, along with my parents and siblings. Thanks guys! 👏👏👏
I'm just catching up, but wasn't the story between Helen and Rob one of the best examples of coercive control. I can remember barely being able to hear Rob Titchener's voice without feeling sick.
