I knew today was going to be tit when we were asked to curb the gifs and off topic chat. Now it’s just horrible. I can’t bear seeing her sucking up all the attention and sympathy like that Henry Hoover gif. She’s like a dementor sucking up people’s good nature and leaving them depressed and empty.

imagine your own angry gif here. I still like the man in the Panda costume smashing up a keyboard. 🐼🤜🏻⌨💥

I’ve written out a tweet to her 5 times now about this kitten and how it would be a kindness to let her go peacefully. But I know there’s no point, she wouldn’t listen and the vitriol I would get from her thick as tit followers would just confirm her opinion that she is Jesus Lord and saviour of the cats. She is an awful awful person and I wish I’d never heard of her

Good grief, I've only just caught up on the kitten thing. Does she know how long and hard vets work to qualify and then to maintain their knowledge throughout their careers? If multiple highly skilled experts tell you it's suffering and nothing they can do, LISTEN. Quality of life is everything. Unspeakably selfish and cruel to think you know better.

I can't stomach the thought of how much that little cat is going through.

I expect after she’s milked this for a few hours on Twitter, she’ll go on a tweet delete spree to remove the inconsistencies in her story.

What planet are her followers on? Petplan is a company, not a charity. My dog's insurance with them is expensive AF compared to other companies, but I'm with them for the peace of mind of a reliable, fast payout should it be necessary.

She got this wee cat saying she could afford to pay for its medical care. She can't go back on that now that reality has worked out differently to what she imagined.
Our cat insurance is costing us a fair wodge , plus check ups, worming etc. And he doesn't have any special needs . Should I ask PetPlan to insure him for free because, in my totally objective opinion, he is the cutest cat on the planet?

The jackolytes on twitter don't understand that sometimes letting a life go, painlessly, peacefully, is by far the more humane option than putting a tiny kitten through having its bones broken, or its limbs amputated.

I can't say I understand people like them. The idea of what she's prepared to allow this little kitten to go though is sickening, when she has been repeatedly told it isn't what the vets recommend.

SPOILER - Kitten talk ( sorry, it’s not working for me)

So our dog recently had an op - was referred to the specialist ophthalmologist In Leicester. They wanted payment upfront for a fairly straightforward procedure ( she was out the same day). We have insurance but the process was we paid, and then reimbursed by insurance. Just over 1k. I suspect Fitzpatrick will be very keen on ensuring funds in place before starting any work and won’t be swayed by promises. I also suspect they will immediately redo all the x- rays and tests ( clinicians - both human and vet tend not to rely on other orgs test results and x - rays for diagnosis are different to x- rays used for treatment). So Jack shouldn’t assume the 800 for the x- rays s a one off expense.
Also I suspect the hive mind her vet is doing is just going to validate the original recommendation.

I'm of the same view as @FreeSquirrels I'm an animal rescuer. I come from a long line of animal rescuers. I believe - an actual belief/value - that sometimes giving a beautiful animal some glorious last days before a kind death is the best thing to do. I would not be trying to save this kitten in the face of clear vet advice, and it's not because I don't care

The thing is, they do. I imagine if a real life person told this story or if they had a pet and it happened they’d be horrified. It’s this bizarre adulation of her, it truly is a cult of celebrity.

If anyone wondered, her excuse for not selling the Emin will be “My friend gave it to me, but I protested and in the end I agreed I’d look after it until they want it back”
How dare you say poor working class people like lil old Jack Monroe aren't allowed to have nice things like original Tracy Emins! Shame on you!
