Jack Monroe #399 Catastrophically embarrassing

Lurker reporting for duty. I have checked the tweets of JM on and off for years, because reader, I knew her many moons ago on a lesbian/bisexual message board and she came to a meet-up once, aa I recall she was socially awkward and needy simultaneously.

The regulars on the messageboard realised very quickly that there was something a bit off with JM. Just like now, she veered from one grandiose story/lie to another expecting us all to swallow the verbal slop.

This was long before becoming a celebrity chef, but once she hit the headlines, we watched with amusement as she carried on telling enormous porkies rather than cooking them.
I found it both funny and a bit sad that she was going to eventually trip herself up, but other than the fraus here who’ve done a sterling job keeping tabs, the rest of the internet seem to be wilfully blind or ignorant to her BS.

I have two particular concerns, the first is her pretence at lesbianism, when we are currently in the most profound period of homophobia and lesbian erasure caused by trans ideology and misogyny. She should simply hoard the newest label of bisexual to add to her larder of isms, ologies and syndromes.

The second is her mental fitness to be around her child or even her dog. I’ve a couple of close friends who had to grow up with narcissist mothers and it does not end well for the offspring. It has a devastating impact on their mental health and sense of self.
If the father is truly a good man, I hope he’s got full custody.

She's done a small amount of likely well paid commercial work for personal profit. Since the start of September we've had no recipes, no guides, nothing which could provide actual help to anyone.

The thing about the please will you leave me alone tweet is this: if Jack avoided social media, she wouldn’t see anything like this - and to be fair, the tweet is not challenging or unreasonable.
Jack is projecting her own mood onto others and delegating her responsibilities for her own well-being onto the WWW.

Her well-being is her responsibility and that’s not a get out for bullies. There is a big distinction and Jack can’t see it. Anyone who reasonably questions her is at risk of having their Twitter pored over in order to identify their political leanings, their thoughts on gender or anything else she can use to attempt to discredit them. People of all opinions and persuasions are entitled to question the things she posts and promises - it’s too easy for her to try and cancel them.

I am confused so if she comes off twitter she said will be dealing with this alone alone but i thought she had a whole host of people IRL helping her through, so therefore not alone.

I have a question about Twitter stats for @Brian Butterfield or someone who understands this stuff please.

When you block someone on the haunted glove app, I think that account no longer follows yours as well as you not following or seeing theirs, correct? So if Jack was baiting people to draw out and block them, unless she wasn't following them to begin with, the -numbers in red under the FOLLOWING column would be higher over the last 24 hours, as some of them would have to be following her to be in the Comments Club () and therefore capable of replying? Or were her replies open? Or was she just blocking people making themselves known via QTs? I just think that number should be higher than 1 given the sheer amount of activity yesterday, and the increasing boldness of her followers to ask really basic questions or show dissent.

OK, before I go and do something else: weird twitter thing - how come when I scroll down Jack's feed (tweets & replies) I can see the hilarious Burnside tweetings, but if I click on it says it's deleted?

Is it my browser or something and people who hadn't looked before would see nothing?

Also hadn't noticed Jack knowing that Burnside was female before. (ETA - sorry, incorrectly included the last tweet which was actually about Rachel Dolezal)
