If she has been spending £20 a week for 10 years on food and toiletries (just like patreon, she’s ignoring the pet food issue), then her outgoings she admits to are £10,400 for that 10 yr period.

Where has the money gone Jack?
And if she’s saying her shopping is ~always~ £20 a week, and that she ~always~ has enough food for 2/3 people, then is she pretty much saying that food prices ~haven’t~ gone up by 344% after all? (Wouldn’t that rise make her £20 shopping now cost £68??)

Doesn’t everyone out some water in the bottle at the end to make sure you use it all? I do that with shampoo and conditioner and shower get as well…

Nope, as a dirty capitalist pig who eats like Henry the 8th at every mealtime, every time one of my servants does the washing-up for me we buy six bottles of Fairy (Platinum, naturally) and bathe the dirty dishes in pure washing-up liquid.

Can someone please insert that tweet with toiletries pricing. Because is she really trying to tell us her household, including a 12 yo and two adults, at least one of whom is menstruating regularly, is using 12 rolls of toilet paper in a month?

ok found it

And only one bottle of diluted washing up liquid a month! With all the cooking that comes with her ~ profession ~?????
Tha
Former squig reporting for duty! Been grunka-ing for weeks, even watched some DKL from the wiki. On the verge of going full frau many times... but today sealed it. A good friend came to box up her books that had been resting in my flat as she shifted accommodation. Now, I first heard of JM through this friend. My friend is a woke soft butch in her thirties who loves to cook and so naturally she fancies the Vivenne Westwood right off Jack. It even used to be a running joke between us that if she wasted food she'd never have a chance with Jack Monroe. Ah, those innocent times.

My soul has been burning with two questions: one, has my friend encountered the chaos? Been abroad this month so maybe not! Two, did she ever cook anything from either of the 2 cookbooks (Bad Food For Bad Days and Tin Can't Cook, since you're wondering) that I know she owns?

Since she was boxing up books today and even reminiscing about certain cookbooks, I was able to casually ask as BFFBD passed over her hand: Did you ever cook anything from a Jack Monroe book?

Actually no, she replied. I was unsurprised but then she continued... "I did cook loads of recipes from her blog and they were delicious."

Frauen und Herren, is this sheer lust speaking? Or are the blog recipes in some way less vile than the book ones?

And will my friend ever admit it to me if she encounters the chaos? I am certain she hasn't as of today - but it may happen.
This is gold!

10 years ago she was feeding herself and toddler SB on just £10 a week. (Strangely just after doing one of those asinine challenges for the Labour party group she was working with.)

Now, I am terrible at maths, but that's not a 344% increase either.

Tesco sell value soap for 15p… so 45p for 3, saving 55p.

But Tesco also sell 250ml shower gel for 30p.

She could buy one soap for hand washing, plus a shower gel, for 45p.

But Tesco also sell a litre of value shampoo for 50p.

So rather than spending 99p for 3 bars of soap and going through the slimy rigmarole of boiling them down for shower gel, she could spend 95p, a saving of 4p, and have hand soap, shower gel and shampoo proper.

But that’s not poverty cosplay enough for our am dram destitute dame.
She doesn’t have a big Tesco that she can walk to in 20 minutes so this information is irrelevant.

(it isn’t, it’s really useful. However, Jack will ignore it when she grunks)

Friends. I have seen the Twitter between & after services today. I have not dared log on here yet to see.

But why does Jack see it fit to profane the Lord’s day with a Chaos I cannot live-follow?

Let grunk perpetual shine upon me; I am deceased.

Not to get too graphic but I use my chests ‘natural funnel’ to get water into the bottle so I can swill it out 😂

I don’t dilute washing up liquid but I am still using fairy Christmas branded dishwasher tablets as they were half price in Asda in January so I stocked up 😂

The academic is now subject to a pile on. WFT is wrong with these people. They don’t want to debate, they just want to destroy.

Poll added, as requested by someone on the last thread.
Hi. Origin story!
I'm a recent Frau. I found you all after the begging blog. I've always followed Jack on twitter, sometimes I've retweeted and liked some of her posts. I've never bought a book or sent her any money, although I wouldn't condemn people who have, until recently.
I thought she was genuine for a good while, because although I have always thought her recipes looked tit, I'm a daft twit who sometimes gets taken in by people, even though I'm a proper grumpy old misanthrope who hates EVERYONE!! After the begging blog, I started seeing twits pointing out the bleeping enormous amounts of money she's been getting for doing sweet duck all. I somehow came across you mithering ninnies, and after I read the wiki, I became bloody furious. I'm working class on a tit income, and I struggle from month to month. duck these class tourists who STEAL to line their own filthy pockets! I've had/still have my share of mental health issues, but she weaponises hers for profit and gain.
I can't believe the bleeping hubris and arrogance of this person. I want her to own up to her problems, pay her patreon subscribers back, seek proper, effective mental health treatment and start again with a clear conscience, for her own sake and for SB and the pets. I'm sat working out my outgoings for the next month, like all working class people do, without asking for thousands of pounds a month from strangers.
Thankyou all for the hoots I've had over the last couple of weeks! I feel like I've found my people! I love the catch phrases and I'm doing my best to keep up!
Now, go well, you mithering, ninny Frauen, and, duck off xxx

Evening, new here although I've been watching for weeks since I picked up mention of AM on Mumsnet (not registered on there but watch). I am on Twitter and I've been pretty vocal - I'll try to remain anon but if this is in conflict with Tattle I'll de-reg. Ta
I think the general rule is don't both post on Jack threads on Tattle and interact with Jack related things on Twitter (or other celeb/influencers where relevant) So you can read one and post on t'other, and you can post on non-Jack related Twitter but generally don't cross the streams posting-wise.

There has to be a Netflix series surely? (although feel free to use creative license to edit out the irritatingly nasal voice Netflix!)
Yes in a Don’t F*ck with Cats style. The Canal should have a starring role. We would have to remain anonymous, but I’d like Steph McGovern to do my voice over.

I don’t know if I’m going to explain myself very well but I think her insistence on only using Asda for her ‘weekly shops’ and lists of cleaning products actually proves to me that they are not real. It is just the easiest and quickest way for her to show how poor she says she is without any real leg work. She just has to look on one website for prices and make one quick trip to Asda for her fake weekly shop. In my experience very few people (particularly people struggling ) get absolutely everything from one shop - they will use different shops for different aspects of their shopping. For example I will write my weekly shopping list with 3 shops in mind - Home Bargains, Aldi and Sainsburys. I will get most of my shopping in Aldi but as I am also fussy about certain brands I will see if they are available in HBs then if not I get them in Sainsburys along with any more ‘exotic’ ingredients that Aldi doesn’t stock that I might need for certain recipes. I love HBs for toiletries, cleaning products and things like jarred sauces and multipack crisps. There is never any mention of visits to any of the discount retailers like Home Bargains, B&Ms, Heron, Farmfoods, etc. I don’t think I have ever seen anyone in one of the big four supermarkets with just the value range in their trolleys. It’s is just a performance by her that this is how the ‘poor’ shop.

This is it! So just use less?! I don't get Jack logic. Last month she was saying she uses shampoo in her washing machine, now she's claiming making her own cleaning products with cheap staples.

Jack, be careful, you'll mix yourself up some ammonia and knock yourself out.
A couple of weeks ago the Daily Express accidentally taught its readers how to make chlorine gas while mixing common household substances.
