Can you lads ensure there’s a recap at the start of the thread, I’m not trying to moderate, they’re really helpful when looking back if one of the first posts has some points about what’s gone on. Start out by explaining why the title is #vimesbootsindex cheese: £1
I agree - remind people to check the Kickstarter in the wiki

I'm still a few pages behind, but you can all rest assured that #vimesbootsindex created by jack monroe, director of on a bootstrap ltd (compulsory strike off suspended) is on The List

I'm gonna leave the current list here for the benefit of our new and returning fraus and herrs. remember, this pretty much only covers the last 18 months or so, since I started contributing to these threads. every single thing here has been mentioned/promised by jack, mostly to never be seen again. but she does get a nice tick when something is completed (rare)

That’s not winning at the mo, Hotesy T. I don’t do recaps but have the thread ready for when it’s time.

Long time lurker on these threads. Did anyone else think she's had media training based of her interview on Lorraine this morning? I've seen her before on cooking things and a Russel brand podcast and she came as across as neurotic and unprepared. Today she seemed calmer and I'm convinced her voice has changed, less nasally!?

I simply cannot believe the amount of people who retain supermarket receipts. I’m in there every bloody second or third day; half the time I say no thanks when offered the receipt and the other half they are either used for wrapping gum in, blotting lipstick or just for taking up space in pockets and handbags. I feel like I’m in the wrong here.

That aside though:
* my living situation and my dietary requirements are vastly different from a decade ago,
* I fully accept costs rise and suppliers/distributors etc have to be paid fairly,
* imagine how much of a nightmare it must be to go through all those excel sheets with misspelled items, abbreviations, different formats, some people using the American MM/DD/YYYY and others using DD/MM/YY. bleeping HELL she is literally doing this for NOTHING. A monumental waste of time.

Her poor, poor, already infantilised son is now going to have to spend half term going through Malcolm’s receipts for two pot noodles and a warburtons toastie loaf.

I keep laughing every time I think about it.

There’s a few ahead of that. I’ll do it, but if people gently, softly correct me then i’ll passive aggressively call them pal.

My wife works with stats and I really want to get her to read this thread but I can't figure out how to without sounding mad
Yes!!! I've tried to explain to people what I'm looking at, and never get further than .."it's about this chef...."

The whole story is just too overwhelming

Much love but I believe there may be a riot if it’s not #VimesBootsIndex and some combo of CHEESE £1 / one cheese please 😂
You can’t just come in here with your lived experience of what the title should be and disregard the data of how many votes there are @vimesbootsthreadtitledemocracy
