Matt Haig does have a thread here. He was on a podcast with Dawn O'Porter and commented about here saying how people were jealous and haterz.
He has come off twitter for a bit and was on Woman's Hour talking about mental health. He showed quite a lot of awareness I thought by saying he realised he was both too opinionated yet thinskinned for SM. Maybe Jack should pick up on that quote instead.

Ah but Jack always describes herself as having the hide of a rhino, to cope with the haters. Surely "thin-skinned" wouldn't be relevant to her..?

What a great account the vegan lady has though. We eat a lot of plant based. I’m jealous that you can get vegan chorizo in asda- she uses it in a recipe on her grid. We’re planning a vegetarian version of a recipe with chorizo this week- I think the sun we will use is halloumi.

Sorry (but not sorry) all this carry on reminds me of the IT crowd episode work outing where Roy pretends he is a wheelchair user all to get attention and in his case catch the eye of lydia fox? Or in Jack's case to cling on to her cherished victim status and also as an effective means with which to gaslight anyone who would seek to question her carefully constructed narrative which she both hides behind and uses to manipulate others from a safe distance.

Just as an aside has she ever been through the long lengthy stressful and sometimes humiliating experience of having to fight for resources? respite? diagnosis? disability benefits? or any kind of help and support?
I'd guess that would be a no then?

I’m liking how her sock is still playing innocent with the viggles, and to be fair they are giving her the benefit of the doubt and calmly explaining to her their problems with Jack. She must be twisting inside the sock with rage.

On topic, I don't have anything new to add as all you other wunderschöne Frauen und Männer have said everything, but the wheelchair in Jack's bio has pushed me over the edge. How DARE she?? On a Grunk so unsure if this has already been said (apologies if so!) but there was a piece in The Spectator about him/his brand/his general presence on Twitter last week. As a disclaimer, I'm not a Spectator reader and I definitely do not agree with their editorial stance. However, the piece raised an interesting point which overlaps with Jack, imo. The article was saying how his first book was genuinely useful for getting the message out there about what it is like to experience poor mental health and has helped in breaking down the stigma for illnesses like anxiety and depression but his brand doesn't translate as well to a medium like Twitter. The message that stuck with me from the article was when the author explained that Matt Haig's overriding message of 'I was at breaking point but now I've got multiple best selling books and a film on the horizon!' is not what people who are experiencing the lowest ebb of their mental health need to hear because that's a faraway fantasy for most people in that position. The best most people who have been in that position can hope for is good health and to be supported in a recovery that makes their life feel fulfilling. I say there's a crossover with Jack because I think the start of her career was the best part of it. Twitter has been her downfall. The problem with both Jack and Matt is that they're like flies stuck in amber, they haven't adapted their output so it's all rather same-y and just becomes unhelpful noise rather than making a salient, striking point day after day. Few people are capable of that and neither of them fit into that category.

On better news, I listened to Saturday Morning Live on Radio 4. Richard Cole, Mary Portas, AND someone called Ella who has got up Jack's niche by writing a cook book about cooking and depression.

She came across very well. AND she said it takes 30 minutes to properly caramelise onions. If Jack was listening steam must have been coming out of her smol pixie ears

I agree. I honestly think she needs an extended break from Twitter. Maybe seek some help too if she really can't break the addiction, question and challenge her need for validation on there with a mental health professional.

She has been given the benefit of the doubt by the more charitable contributors (for the moment) but the snark is unmistakable for the less forgiving.
