I have a horrible feeling she's about to diagnose herself as having diabetes.

I think she’s going to go for the long con with it. It will be thirst for the next day or so, then peeing a lot, then really tired, then “my breath smells like pear drops anyone know why?”

Satay sauce is the best, I love it so much. I make it Indonesian-style with ketjap manis and vary the rest (sometimes I make it with coconut milk, other times I leave it out sometimes with garlic, sometimes with onion etc. There's so many varieties).

I think Jack tries to emulate it sometimes by popping peanutbutter into her weird noodle creations, but she never seems to add any other ingredients like Ketjap to make it taste good/create depth.

She had a green bean /peanut recipe (not sure what the rest of the ingredients were) that tasted of nothing when I tried it. Probably because she doesn't know how/when swapping things is fine and what ingredients are actually essential for the basics of a dish.

Oh I love ketjap manis. We had it in one of our Hello Fresh meals and I bought a bottle the next day
I haven’t used it with my peanut butter noodles yet though so thanks for the tip!

But I've just received a response from the ed's team at the Graun. Basically the use of the word 'feral' was justified with 'it makes sense in context of the interview even tho derogatory' but they did agree to remove it from the photo caption as that had no context.

Apparently they received a few complaints so refresh your inboxes, cabal.

The first hand experience thing is a flimsy justification for hate speech, and I'm shocked the Guardian would use it as a defence.

I grew up partly in South Africa. If I were interviewed by the Guardian and I used heinous, dehumanising language to describe the black people I knew as a child, "first hand experience" would be - quite rightly - no defence.

Jack Monroe grew up in a position of extreme privilege over these fostered children. Her use of "feral" is just vile.

Dissapointed but not surprised about the Guardian's response...

I'm sure she's given a heads up about the cabal of trolls but even if she was being trolled (which she isn't by us... we merely and largely discuss information she has put out on a public forum and point out inconsistencies), she has no right to call foster children feral. It's derogatory, especially if they are from certain ethnic backgrounds.

Jack being a 'divisive' figure seems to have actually helped her in this particular instance, as if that's the only reason complaints have been made? they don't even seem to have considered that people could actually find the language she used incredibly upsetting and offensive.

Totally - that last line ("We have had a few other complaints about the same issue and will be sending a similar response to them too.") makes it clear they think this is some sort of coordinated attack.
