Also, if she is working 16 hours a day () then wtf has she got to show for it?
Nothing, absolutely nothing.
So two options
1.She's shit at whatever her job is.
2.She's lying.
This 10000000 X this.

She is working 16 hour days and all she achieves is a few Letdown Larder answers, a few Tweets about her back story that nobody asked to be reminded of, and another picture of that bloody cat asleep.

She is touting for more work, but what about the work she already has that she is ignoring?
Del Monte collaboration, nothing not even a recipe for pineapple chunks with cheese on sticks.
Poverty book that she asked people to send heart wrenching stories, nothing, not even a thank you to those that contributed.
The budget cookbook, her seventh, nothing, not even a tweet about a possible date it will be available.
Beige postcards, nothing, not even a rehash of one of her old recipes.

No doubt she is hoping that the Guardian will be wanting another article from her 'cause nobody else has a poverty story to beat hers. But even they seem to have dropped her like a hot brick now she has found a right wing paymaster.

Too much texture dear heart. Pineapple and cheese with a bit of stock and generic herbs in a slow cooker for 8 hours? Now we're talking!

Her Patreon subscribers must wonder how she can work 16 hours a day but not post anything they’ve paid for.

I am actually in shock at her tweet about regretting changing her name.

It's like the ultimate example of privilege in action that she compares herself to Poorna Bell and Kamala Harris, two women of colour who didn't change their first names, who grew up in (I am assuming here) white, english speaking communities where their names were another thing along with skin colour that marked them as different, and along comes Woe Is Me Monroe, who is "whiter than mayo" or whatever she called herself, middle class, comfortable upbringing to white parents in the south east of England, and her contribution to the conversation is "waaaaaaah, poor me, I regret my decision which I made of my own volition to change my name from " Melissa" every day."

Well that's not what you've said before!?!

She can't let anyone else BE can she? Literally every thing in the universe must be seen through the lens of how this effects Jack Monroe.

I just can't with this bullshit today.

Not so good to post a pic of the last coven night out before lockdown. Now everyone knows how we look like , except @MancBee who took the picture.

It never fails to give me eye roll strain when she mentions her “difficult” name. I know a fair few people with her birth name, and a few extra Mel/Melly/Lissys, too. If someone says that name to you it registers immediately, it’s a well known and easy to recognise name. Does she actually think it has the same cultural connotations and potential for bullying or discrimination etc as Kamala or Poorna?? She’s a bandwagon-hopping joke of person. I know people with names like Poo, Porn and Egg, which mean totally different things in their languages, and they always gracefully address ignorant comments without all of this self-pitying bullshit. She makes me sick, seriously.

She gets paid upfront then 'sick notes' out of it.

Just getting in with a #thread title suggestion (did I do it right?)

It fits to "quietly telling MR about my own poverty".

Hadjicostas.
It's not even difficult is it? It wasn't anything about being 'difficult'.... Jack just decided that she wasn't that particular person anymore. Much like she does every other day. What happened to 'Knitting Jack?'

Argh this is exactly how I felt - Silver Linings does say she's referring to her second name Hadjicostas rather than Melissa but she still completely ignores all the other factors that go along with cultural exclusion/otherness.

Couldn't sum it up any better. She is absolutely disgusting. She's so lucky that she's irrelevant enough that people can't be bothered to call her out for her bullshit on Twitter. A more high profile account would get ripped to shreds for trying to shoehorn their way into a conversation like this as a privileged white woman.
