Gotta love that on the one had she is FORENSIC with spreadsheets, detailing the costs of smart price/ essential ranges for years, but that when someone has a question 'it all works out about the same'.

Know there are a wealth of options but could I please nominate 'mind the gravy' as a thread title 😝
Also I received several emails forensically detailing the Christmas recipes yesterday (must have signed up when I was naive!) Specifies del Monte grapefruit in the starter but no mention of #ad or 'other brands are available' dodgy af !
Bets on her including pineapple in the traybake, and not just any old pineapple, no.

I never thought I’d see something worse than brendas sausage “delight” but the moussaka has ended me 😱😱😱

I didn’t food came that colour...
I'm still not entirely convinced it wasn't a mislabelled crumble, cos calling that a Moussaka is an affront to several things.

Her costings are crap, to be fair. In one breath, she is listing the shopping list (so full price of everything), then in the next, she drops to per portion of a product, to get it cheaper for the headline price. It’s a swizz really and completely pointless because very few people relative to her following, do their shop in Asda and Tesco Express Southend branches. It’s also awful that she has now got into bed with a premium brand product to the point of promoting it without the #ad notifications, and at the expense of her previous budget/smart price support. Yes, she has bills to pay (and good on her for doing it without resorting to poor people benefits), but to sell out in such dramatic fashion is quite something.

Lidl and Aldi are the king of budget and frugal shops now (with a bit of other places such as B&M/Home Bargains etc, if you have the time to shop around and price compare). I have the Lidl app and that’s quite good for tipping you off on future bargains - as well as % discounts on stuff if you have spare money and space to stock up when on offer. Jack does her readers a massive disservice by not including them.

Honestly this seems to be Jack's mantra. All herbs are the same. All large is the same. All supermarket budget ranges are the same.

"Everything is the same as everything else"

I still can’t let go of the fact she said two home economists at the Express tested her recipes?! Again, not to 🔺 but that simply doesn’t happen at newspapers.

I was gently but firmly told by a lady doctor that they could see 3 people in the time it took to get a needle in me and fill the bag so I should stop trying.
I decided to stop donating blood when I was told I was a “slow bleeder”😳. People were being hooked up after me, and leaving whilst I was still going!

And there's me thinking she's lost her sense of taste. Why would she drink squash in various flavours of she couldn't even taste it???
To be fair, she hasn't claimed to have lost her sense of taste. One anonymous P Mink did lose their sense of taste back in September, but the incidents appear to be unrelated... 🤔

I like to think the white hearts she’s so taken with right now are actually a stand in for our enamel SlopBot pins!

If Jack were on desert island discs she would choose her own singing. (Cliff Richard just did)

Maybe they tried her Yorkshires recipe, thought 'Christ, this is tit' and went to buy an edible replacement;

Instead of her stupid £20 shops full of yellow sticker items, it would be far more helpful to draw up a basic weekly shopping list and do it each week at a different supermarket to compare overall value over a period of time. It would be giving people on a budget information they can actually do something with in an effort to save money. But of course there aren't any Mediterranean a pats in doing that so instead we get the weekly whoops shop up.

😲 Cliff Richard just chose Jack Monroe songs on Desert Island Discs? Was 'Landslide' (cover, a cappella) amongst them?
