I'm suffering today as I overdid it at The Sloppies last night. I haven't enjoyed myself so much in ages and happy that I didn't do anything I regret but actually something that was good!

I rarely drink but was in a celebratory mood as it was my birthday, SBs finished school, and my husband back from working away. I know Christmas plans have been ruined and the covid nightmare seems neverending, but have to make the most of any chance of fun and laughter.
Happy Birthday for yesterday! I love you attitude to make the most of fun times and recognise the things we can still celebrate 🎉

What’s the betting Jack comes out now with how she must have this new super strain as there’s no way normal Covid would be this bad and her temperature this high.

Today was written in the stars for her to continue to fool 99% of the British public into believing she’s an anti poverty campaigner/martyr.

@DinosaurSenior what odds are we offering on this one?

Ps. I just opened Insta and genuinely at first glance thought this was Covid Jack

Over here, we eat torró (turrón - the most famous/traditional style is basically a hard nougat, but there are 1000s of varieties) as the main Xmas confectionary. There is a fabulous company that makes really fancy artisan varieties, which are delicious but expensive (10 - 12€ for a 500g block). They have just donated 22.500kg to food banks, which is phenomenal (and makes me feel good about splurging on some for myself!).

Why isn't Britain's foremost food poverty campaigner highlighting similar efforts over there?

She doesn't highlight any good causes. Christ knows how she's still managing to keep attached to this campaigner/activist label, she does duck all for anyone but herself. It would take her less than a minute to promote charities and signpost her large audience to their websites but she doesn't even make that small effort.

The charity that got a mention as part of this god awful Daily Express dinner, I have no clue about after reading her article as she can't shut up about herself long enough to talk about anyone else.

It's astounding that someone so utterly selfish has carved themselves an image of a saint.

Playing with the slop bot.

It's a masterpiece. Made funnier because I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if Jack created actual recipes that are identical to some of those generated by the bot!

How does a dessert of 'mushroom and bramley apple cheesecake' sound?

I find her avoidance of Aldi and Lidl completely baffling. I'm sure there are still some areas where these are not the nearest supermarket but for the vast majority of people these will be the cheapest and nearest option. If you live a particularly rural area I'm sure there will not be a Tesco or Asda much nearer than an Aldi or Lidl. I live in a not particularly large town close to a large national park area (haven't got a triangle emoji!!) and I have 3 Aldis and 1 Lidl within a 3 mile radius all on bus routes.
I think it shows how out of touch she is. Aldi and Lidl have grown enormously since her months in poverty. It is insane for anyone talking about poverty in 2020 to just ignore them.

Remembering her saying about the fight for the cherry in the fruit cocktail, this could be right up in her niche

My latest creation is Mel Donte Wensleydale, Mel Donte lemon marmalade and Mel Donte glacé cherry tikka masala. I snarfed it energetically with the eye wets at The Sloppies and the bot from Mel Donte he say 'cherries with stones good for the bones'.

I have aldi, co-op and several Asian shops near me. Her recipes discriminate against me.

I agree! He could just do what he always does to his guests - talk over the top of her and pretend she isn’t there thus starving her of the much craved attention 😂
She could then pen a public searing reply many days later with all the things she thinks she would've said to his face (but wouldn't really) as she did with Edwina Currie.

I can’t believe her response to this, dunno if I’m being over-sensitive, but even for her this is insanely mean-spirited.

I think this is the organisation the squiggle was referring to -
https://www.growinglinks.org.uk/street-food-project.html

The work they do is so important. When I next get paid I’m going to donate to them (it feels like I’m donating to spite JM, but I just felt so bad for that guy on Twitter getting a response like that from her).

Great suggestion, I just made my donation to Growing Links :)

And it's lies anyway, if she can walk to Asda she can certainly walk to her local Lidl. She just doesn't want to 🙄.

Writing from the past, I’ve done something I never thought I’d do- I’ve skipped entire threads, relying only on brilliant recaps and most liked post filters. So much content to get through! So little time! Such high temperatures!!

anyway @Switchstreetz, as everyone has said, The Sloppies are a work of heartbreaking genius, totally amazing. I’ve also made a small donation to FareShare in gratitude, and thanked The Cabal for promoting their work in my message.

I can’t help but wish that just like The Oscars there was a goodie bag for all voters — perhaps a small vial of horse spirit, a pineapple ring, or a chaos countdown clock for example — maybe next year!?!

so please get, with all love, to duck you evil witchy trolls ❤

Right Jack. That’s Auntie Nicola has put up the border again so no looking at Caledonian sleeper tickets after Lard Day!
(In all seriousness I’m trying to console a devastated friend who was going to drive home to Scone from England to see her parents and now can’t. She was made redundant this year, it just all sucks.)

Just ❤ @bladiesla . The work they do seems to be so meaningful and varied.
I just want to say that I don’t usually share online when I donate to charity, but I think that whats been done on this thread since yesterday evening is a rare case of genuinely raising awareness. And also, there’s been times when I couldn’t afford to donate to any causes, what I’ve donated today isn’t much, but I know that the fact that I’m able to donate anything is a privilege in itself.

I know what you mean re: not sharing donations, but I mostly wanted to mention it as it's a thank you for the Sloppes entertainment :)

Really sorry about your friend, Laddered, I have pals in similar positions, it does indeed suck. HAVING SAID THAT - It's really something of an indictment of Jack's behaviour, when she scuttled scampered up to Edinburgh just as soon as she could for no reason whatsoever in July the very day after our lockdown was lifted. duck off away from Scotland Jack we're in the middle of a pandemic you dumbass.

I updated Slopbot not long before you posted this and you just got two of the ten new phrases (Jack used 'thankyou' a total of ten times since the previous update, we have her unctuous followers on Twitter to thank for that). 'The single cherry in a tin of fruit cocktail' was added as an ingredient straight after her Del Monte partnership was announced. I've also just taken the fancy é off glacé cherry as for some reason special characters don't display properly so now the font won't do a chaos.

@Scarletfever it is so lovely of you to think of donating on my behalf, it warms the rinsed tinned cockles of my cold heart and I am glad I have managed to provide entertainment with my incredibly silly jokes. Now duck off.

Thanks @Veronicaaa , I feel so useless as a friend, miles away trying to make her feel better when I have the luxury of a husband and a toddler (remind me when I say ‘luxury’ when I find another half eaten carrot down the sofa or pen marks on the walls!). I’m STILL ragin’ that she came up to Edinburgh, I felt invaded. She was taking the piss. Immunocompromised my a.
