Hope jack watches the 2nd half of ibz's video: describes how oxbridge rejects hold their rejection for years, and if they get in for their masters in the end they could turn arrogant. oxford isn't the end all or be all- if your application was the best you could do it's more than likely that you were just not the right fit for the course. no need to continously reapply.

I wish Jack could see this. I hope he does. I think what Ibz Mo says about validation and “I got rejected and I need to deal with that rejection”, it’s so important to actually analyse why you feel bad about it and what you think that says about you. It’s a mature response.
Plus the whole thing about giving in a competitive application- it has to be THE BEST and sometimes you’re not the best and you just have to accept the redirection. Hope Jack learns this.
Damn this is a good video. Probably the best video of rejection I have seen. He is the only one who says "rejection is redirection" and then lives by it and doesn't keep applying. Something Jack needs to realise if he is going to keep saying that. This video and the maturity of ibzmo in it makes Jacks rejection videos look so bad.
To be fair I don't blame him for opening his book in store, how else is he going to know whether the pages were all there or if some chapters were missing?

I always find that making a public fuss (i.e. on social media) is always a good way to get the wheels turning, especially if the company has no trustpilot page.

I think Ibz 's video is bull, he says that if someone applies for a Masters and then gets in and thinks they deserve to be there then that means they're arrogant... but if you earn an offer you DO deserve to be there, and thinking you do isn't arrogant at all! Ibz definitely believed he deserved to be at Cambridge ... Why is that okay but believing you should be there for Postgraduate isn't??!Jack is a different situation anyway, he clearly doesn't deserve to be there as he wasn't good enough for an offer.
Also remember this is Ibz 's SECOND rejection. He's a year ahead of Jack, so to speak. Feels weird sticking up for Jack
but I feel like we can only compare his reaction next year to this video from Ibz. If Jack applies again and is rejected again and then decides to move on he's done exactly the same thing as Ibz so.Migrated from GG the other day so my first post here but I would say Ibz maybe didn't word it exactly right but in that bit where he mentions arrogance he also says those people feel 'entitled' which I heard as meaning people like Jack who say 'I'm gonna show them they were wrong before! Take that Oxbridge!' as opposed to just understanding that getting in means you deserve it..I also feel like people like that who do eventually get in feel superior to their classmates even though those classmates also got in lol
Anyway I sincerely hope that he doesn't carry the double rejection with him for years to come regardless of whether he gets in next year or not because it really isn't the be all and end all of academia or his career or whatever, he just needs time to sit and think: what does he really want out of a masters? Youtube content? Bragging rights? A stepping stone to a career in academia? To further his knowledge of literature? To avoid the "real world" for another year? Only time will tell

Fair point! Agree with that, think if that is what Ibz means he needs to work on making sure his wording is clear though.
Completely different courses which are looking for completely different things in the application process, which is also completely different. I still only think it's comparable if he applies for exactly the same course twice, like Ibz did.

Even then he has been rejected twice and he still hasn't changed his attitude towards it at all. He hasn't accepted either of those rejections. I feel like Ibzmo really realised why he was rejected and reflected on that.

Basically, they were in a busy pub, his phone was down on the table and someone put the menu down and tried to pick it up as they were taking the menu, he mentions how he’d never thought of it, clearly has had a very sheltered life as the cover it with paper trick has been around for a good long while
I agree, I always thought mugging meant you’d been attacked and robbed? So Jack was almost a victim of theft rather than a mugging. Obviously I wouldn’t wish either on anyone but there is a key difference between the two and the distinction is important.
