Making a big deal of nothing to sell his book is fucking disgraceful. What about students who actually struggle with real issues like finances?? Jack is obviously just in it for the money or he would have made a free ebook - it’s all so he can be a published “author” (if you can even call it that) and get the financial benefits

Agreed. Anyone think he’s done it to strengthen his Oxford application as well? Not saying that’s the main reason but it could be a reason.

He's been very quiet about his applications this time around, which does make me wonder if he only applied to Oxford. I wouldn't put it past him to put all of his eggs in one basket again and assume that his persistence will pay off.

Imagine the admissions officers noticing his name and sighing, "it's his third time applying now! What a sweet, driven, persistent boy. We just have to let him in this time". Like yeah, no, that's not how it works.

I think constantly working under pressure in any context raises the question of whether someone takes their work seriously, but i imagine some people work best under such conditions. Nevertheless, it seems he was not willing to consider any other options apart from Oxford.

Think he is genuinely a Taylor Swift and Harry Styles fan tho. Don't think he's that into Kpop.

OMG you guys he literally deleted ALL of his videos and tweets about Oxford/rejection... on the 3rd Feb 2021 his social blade lists a loss of 800k or so views - which I reckon is the two Oxford rejection videos. I'm thinking he didn't get in for the MA (his third rejection) and was so frustrated he just wanted to cut the 'reject' tag he'd earnt himself. Why is he being so shady about it all and trying to obscure the truth?

He unlisted them I think. I found this, it was linked in the infobox of a 'Jesus College Oxford' video, ironically.

I get the same vibe (to a lesser extent) when YouTubers ask their subscribers "What content do you want me make/what do you want to see on my channel?" Why don't you make what you like to make? Or even better, analyse your own stats to see what works best according to views/likes etc.

I sort of get the reading suggestions from subscribers because most people won’t really branch out into other genres unless “forced” or encouraged to

That all being said, I think there’s a huge difference when they jump on the new popular thing. BTS is a big one at the moment, and kpop in general, it’s literally the only reason that it has expanded into the West - the huge fan base will watch whatever they do or whatever involves them and it’s free cash, the rest of the world doesn’t have to be interested in it at that point. Jade also did this recently with kpop too. That just screams lazy and money-hungry to me

I’d just keep emailing the customer service team, I’m also sure under consumer law if a product doesn’t live up to the description you’re entitled to a refund, I’d just double check this and quote the legislation back to them, it’s an utter farce

You're probably right. I could just keep it as my 2nd planner, I really do like the layout. But I'm not pulling it out in front of people. It's an embarrassment for the cost.

Based on my unis no detriment policy his minimum average would be whatever his years average was up until the uni shutdown. the previous years grade would only have a small impact depending on the % worth of year 2 grades that go towards the final award classification
