Thank you for correcting me! It really annoys me when people do this because, to me, it makes their channel much less personal? Like it’s sad because obviously Jack loves reading and I’d like to think he has made this second channel to share that. But all these celebrity challenges and challenges based off trends like you say is just one big opportunity to cash in on fanbases. I wouldn’t mind if they were sprinkled in between normal reading vlogs and stuff he was passionate about but from my knowledge, these trendy ones are all he’s done of recent. Just seems more fake to me :/
Its all about clickbait and key words to fit in with algorithms. And when that happens authenticity tends to go out the window

Unsurprising that literally 90% of his jokes in his Handforth video are from the top comments of the viral video. Not saying they were the most original jokes anyway, but he could've tried a bit harder.

So many of his jokes are "stolen" from social media. One time he replied to a tweet about Covid coming to Durham after being rejected by Oxford and a week later he made that exact same joke in a video. He must be painfully unfunny when he can't get prompts from other people.

The photos look like IG stories that he drafted but never posted. My thought is: he got ill, presumed it was COVID, so never got tested, but didn't want to be called out for not getting confirmation. I don't know, but I wouldn't feel like taking selfies if I was suffering with a severe respiratory condition.
I've had it, can confirm I didn't want to do anything. Going up and down stairs wiped me out and I'd have to lie down afterward. I don't think I got properly dressed the entire 10 days I had full on symptoms.

Most people I know that had it were fine and that could be the case for Jack - hence the photos. Personally I got left with long covid which sucks, and I know other people still struggle with breathing too.
Honestly I'm personally finding the whole thing sort of nit-picky since these influencers feel the need to document basically all of their actions no matter how boring or strange.

Quick edit - though I wonder how he knows that he got it from a shop? I can't personally see him staying inside an awful lot

He says the supermarket was the only place he went from 25th Dec to when he tested positive - which was 14 days. So the more likely situation was that he caught it if he mixed at Christmas since symptoms can start up to two weeks after? Not that I'm particularly judging him if he did see family since a Christmas bubble was allowed, but he can't really say he definitively caught it at Aldi or whatever.

Yeah I didn't really understand how he concluded it could have only been from the supermarket. You can absolutely be exposed to coronavirus and only develop symptoms 14 days later, like you said. His family home was in Tier 2 (I think?) so they could've had other extended family over for Christmas. Agree it's far more likely from Christmas mixing than from touching a bag of flour at Aldi. And tbh it could even go back further than that - we don't know if he got the test on the first day he developed symptoms, or whether he waited to get a test as his symptoms persisted. So it's not impossible that he could've picked it up when he travelled back home for Christmas... there's plenty of reports of incubation periods exceeding 2 weeks.

Also, he's living at home, so surely his family is also going in and out of the house for food shopping etc, so it's not necessarily from his own trip to Aldi.

Wouldn't be surprised if he only said he got it from the supermarket so he could make his 'Went to the supermarket and all I brought back was covid' joke

OMG you guys he literally deleted ALL of his videos and tweets about Oxford/rejection... on the 3rd Feb 2021 his social blade lists a loss of 800k or so views - which I reckon is the two Oxford rejection videos. I'm thinking he didn't get in for the MA (his third rejection) and was so frustrated he just wanted to cut the 'reject' tag he'd earnt himself. Why is he being so shady about it all and trying to obscure the truth?

He unlisted them I think. I found this, it was linked in the infobox of a 'Jesus College Oxford' video, ironically.

Yet - and also deleting ALL tweets about Oxford... we can only assume that he was rejected surely? As he already has the degree if he'd gotten an offer it would've been unconditional hence he would've shouted it from the rooftops. I think he's going to keep it secret he got rejected for a third time

I sort of feel bad for him but also maybe this is the time he just moves on from the whole Oxford thing.

100%, he was cocky and thought he could get in if he just kept applying, I’ve said before they know what they’re looking for and he isn’t it. There’s nothing wrong with not fitting into oxford!
Although unless the plot twist is he’s going to Cambridge 😂

That or he is limiting it as he is applying again and not wanting to draw attention to it if they check out his channels. Not that he needs to, they'll remember the 'guy with youtube channel' applying for 3rd time. Despite what applicants think, admissions staff do remember 🤣🤣

I'd think so. Jack is way too annoying, he'd definitely tweet about getting into Oxford as soon as he got the news. In that case I'm expecting a very dramatic "moving on from Oxford & identity crisis" video in a few months.

He wanted to apply for this fall, right? Application deadline was January 8 according to the department website, the last comment on the video was two weeks ago. Would he already be hearing back from them? I don't think that's enough time for admission procedures, surely?

That's like 5 weeks, it's more than enough time to hear back on an admissions decision for a masters and that's assuming he applied at the last minute. Most places have a turnaround time of 8 weeks maximum from what I've seen.

It depends, turn around times can vary greatly depending on a number of factors and I don't know how Oxford works. But yes if that's their deadline and they are very officiant then it's possible he has heard.

They’d have shortlisted for interviews (if that’s what they do for postgrad) oxford work on a quick timetable in comparison to some unis
