Apparently so. From shopping in a supermarket according to him.
I find it odd that he only posted only after having had it. That doesn't go with his usual attention seeking style. Youd think he would post while sick, not weeks later. Also the photos themselves...hmmm...maybe its me but something didn't sit right

Has anyone seen his Instagram recently? He just bought himself an off white fanny pack. I guess the money from his « book » and planners came quickly into the bank

He’s complaining though about how unfair it was but he got 3 A* so he wasn’t disadvantaged whereas many students were. Saying he didn’t work till the last minute makes him look fucking pathetic, not cool or relatable. And it doesn’t make any difference to students who work hard all year round and don’t get the grades they deserve because of an unfair system. Jack gets the grades from *privilege* not from being a hardworking student and it’s not fucking fair
I completely completely agree. I know being in the transitional year was really rough for me and personally I felt had a negative impact on my grades whereas others seemed to be fine with it, so although I can understand if he found it harder it is subjective. What is for certain though is that students this year have been truly objectively fucked over and I don’t think he should be comparing the two situations or trying to make out like he had it just as tough. Like others have said too, he’s ultimately privileged and I can’t imagine getting the grades he did without getting some level of support from his school - which students right now must be lacking.

Looks like Jack has always left studying till the last minute. It’s not really an effective technique for a lot of people and Jack shouldn’t encourage students to follow his lead and leave really important essays and exams till the last minute. It’s doesn’t make you look cool it makes you look like a twat.

Revising all the content is not the fault of the education system - that’s just part of what you have to do as a fucking student. Jack is so fucking pretentious and arrogant, and really he doesn’t know what it’s like for students who struggle and are disadvantaged by this system.

Btw I don’t agree with the current education system or the government that introduced it but Jacks take on this is really pathetic.

Also what does everyone think is Jacks stance on politics as he did it for a level and is obviously criticising the Tory government but doesn’t explicitly say he supports labourView attachment 210014
Does he mean he did GCSE as modular and then a levels as linear, I don’t get the half way through stuff, I’m sure anyone who did modular a levels continued/just did the last two at the end, it was introduced in 2016 so I’m a bit baffled

in his apartment video he says he wants to take pictures of the broken stuff of the flat so "in a year's time" he doesn't lose his deposit
so is he moving to london for a year? i guess he's not reapplying to oxford again...at least not for the year 2021-2022
If he has a 1 year lease starting from when he moved in, he'd have the flat until late September 2021 which works out fine for Oxford since the terms start in October.

Tbf I think he was genuinely shocked to get a first. If he got 72 last year it would’ve been worrying knowing a 67 could bring that down to a 2:1 overall. Congrats to him I say

I remember someone mentioning this (as mere speculation) that he might be a research assistant for Ali Abdaal's book. I guess they are right. Ali's PA uploaded a video where she and the rest of Ali's team (with Ali, of course) were on Zoom and Jack was there too.
I can’t imagine him fitting in with that group at all..

I'm pleased he's doing well. Can I get the money for my planner back then?

I understand people not wanting to be on camera, I'm the same tbh but in doing this you are having a negative knock on effect to the ones giving lectures etc

Eating hummus is the cool thing to do these days. He's such a trend setter. It's great to see what a wonderful use of his time these videos are. /sarcasm
I swear hummus was trendy about a decade or more ago. Now isnt it just a normal snack to choose

My only problem with vee is, in a recent video her sister and her walked into Asda without masks, she never said that they were exempt etc and hasn’t addressed it since... she got loads of comments on the video too
I think in one of Vees videos she said she had covid. So im assuming she thinks she cant get it again so doesnt wear a mask/social distance?

I've had it, can confirm I didn't want to do anything. Going up and down stairs wiped me out and I'd have to lie down afterward. I don't think I got properly dressed the entire 10 days I had full on symptoms.
Most people I know that had it were fine and that could be the case for Jack - hence the photos. Personally I got left with long covid which sucks, and I know other people still struggle with breathing too.
Honestly I'm personally finding the whole thing sort of nit-picky since these influencers feel the need to document basically all of their actions no matter how boring or strange.

Quick edit - though I wonder how he knows that he got it from a shop? I can't personally see him staying inside an awful lot

The no detriment policy at Durham basically means that you can’t get lower than the grade you got the previous year so if you got a 2:1 in 2nd year but then a 2:2 in 3rd year exams if balances out at a 2:1

My PhD cohort all did wildly different masters at different unis, we are in a highly competitive funded programme at a Russell group and it didn't seem to matter at all where we did our masters. One guy did Oxford but that was by far the most 'prestigious' - he really needs to stop being so hung up on Oxford and move forward.

As others have said it's really doubtful he would get accepted if he tries again next year.

Does anyone know what classification he got in his degree? Can't believe we've watched his videos for 3 years, and don't get to find out whether he got a first, or 2:1 or 2:2 in the end!! I'm guessing its probably not a first, or he would have been shouting about it, on his channel!
