I wonder how it will be possible for his channel to be sustained without the Studytube element, unless he reinvents it with a new emphasis. I think there will be younger students coming through who will want someone they can relate to, who has recent student experience. Although it may not have been the initial motivation, it seems obvious to me that most Studytubers are only producing content for the financial rewards.

Have people seen his reply on twitter? Firstly how unprofessional is this sending planners in the wrong order?
second, his book launch should have been the most amazing day of his life? Get a. Grip.

Jack is moaning on IG about job rejections. It's unsurprising (regarding both his moaning and rejections).

Also he said that he has a flat to move into in London - I don't understand 1) how he can afford one, 2) how he would pass the credit checks, and 3) why he would bother to waste the money when he's not doing anything there.
I don’t understand why he’s so insistent on living in Camden, his parents don’t live that far from London? it’s very normal to move back home after you’ve graduated, all but one of my friends did! Like save money whilst you can!

I feel like all his videos are about buying books - buying YouTuber books, buying celebrity books, doing book hauls etc. I know he comments on them too, but it's getting a bit old.

In fairness, it makes complete sense for him to pull all his tips together into one book. he has offered a lot for free over the years and this gives people a lot of info in one place and a chance for him to make some money out of it. I'd do the same tbh. A lot of people wouldnt the time or inclination to research everything individually and watch hours worth of vlogs etc. But yeah it's not high literature

He always gives off "distant relative you would feel uncomfortable being alone in the room with" vibes. Always found him really creepy but not sure why
Yes yes yes this! I'm so glad its not just me, I could never work out exactly why I felt like that because its nothing specific I can put my finger on? And yes I didnt feel like that a couple of years ago, I think its since his poses have got more "sexual" (?????? Again bad wording because they're not explicitly sexual but the winking and the way he's staring and stuff you know what I mean?)

It reminds me of when a celebrity will publish a guide on pregnancy when they've just had their first child. It's so naïve and self-involved.

I never really took to Dylan, I don't know why. I guess he gives off 'lad' vibes which generally puts me off. I think I only watched to find out who his dad is (as he had mentioned that his dad was an actor in a video).

The video Jack refers to is this one:

Some of the comments on Dylan's video (which was made more than a year ago) are recent because of Jack's video as well, and Dylan has responded to a few.
Okay although this video is terrible and I lost brain cells watching the few minutes I tuned in for, I was expecting much worse. I mean he put himself in the F category so seemed pretty self-aware and like you said, didn't even say anything negative about Jack? I assumed he said something unpleasant for Jack to be so salty about this guy reaching out for a collab but this was really harmless.

I would be interested to hear him speak about youtuber books like Grace Beverley's considering all the talk about her writing on her thread!

He was always going to become irrelevant as he aged out of student age but with Covid its fast forward that. His content is already out of date

does anyone else find it irritating how Jack Edwards is capitalising the success of BTS just for views?!? He's got over 700K videos for such a bog-standard analysis on BTS' music videos and that's probably what's made him make even more BTS related stuff. He knows his channel will be boosted for views and he's monetising off it. I laughed so much when I read this tweet. Why doesn't he just do the research himself? Maybe I'm cynical but I've seen it happen with Unjaded Jade too. They all just talk about BTS for views and never go into any depth..
Yeah, it’s easy enough to find out there’s countless threads and Reddit things with books related to BTS. To be honest ... it happens to most YouTubers these days because it’s easy views = easy money. It’s why so many accounts make ‘reacting to BTS for the first time’ videos.

I hate when YouTubers ask for research for their videos ... you’re the one being paid stop being lazy!

What was the “main character” thing about in his new vlog? Surely in your own life you are the main character??? I don’t understand😂
That's the point, it refers to people losing sight and focus on themselves and attaching themselves too much to others and others needs or actions. Something I guess many of us are guilty of at times.

The individualistic way millennials (as a rule) view the world/society has brought this way of thinking back to the forefront even though it's been around for decades. I studied a little bit the generational differences and this is something that multiple scholars/researchers have identified in the millennial generation.

And yes employers and universities absolutely look at social media

In fairness the basic survival section is possibly useful, its shocking how many come to university without that basic life knowledge

However the work section seems in an odd random order

He said that the *oh so special, not found anywhere else* course only had, what, 6 places or something? For a small course at Oxford, he needs to be one of the most competitive Lit graduates out there, and he isn't. Presumably he applied with a predicted 1st, which he got, so he's not developed his application in the slightest. Plus, it will hinder him that he only got that 1st by the skin of his teeth. I bet he regrets faffing around and procrastinating so much on his exam prep/assignments now, but I guess he just wanted to seem rElAtAbLe.
You know, I genuinely think Oxford would have been fine with the scraping a 1st thing. He's human and so too are Oxford staff and students. Like you said, what they will have a problem with is all the rushed essay videos, blaming everyone but himself and his persistently cocky and over-confident attitude towards academia ( which they really really have a problem with). I'm sure he's capable of great things, but I think he really needs to consider the possibility that Oxford may not be one of those things.

i’m pretty sure it’s Jack - did you read the title?? it says “i read these books”. if someone else posted they’d normally say youtuber or jack edwards reads!!
If you share a YouTube video to Reddit the title of the post Is automatically the title of the video unless you change it, someone’s probably just posted the video in the subreddit because it’s related 🤷🏻‍♀️Would be funny if Jack was that desperate for views though
