I did linear alevels and my mum is an alevel teacher so knowing both systems, I don’t think there is much of a difference in amount of content - more just difference in when you are assessed. Jack did history and english lit, both of which have an element of coursework, even under the new spec. He should try learning the content for 3x 100% exam alevels the night before which is what I had to do. Personally, I definitely achieved better under the linear system because of mental health and family issues throughout the two years, so I wouldn’t have been able to cope with continuous assessment. But Jack makes everything about him, it doesn’t work all ways, each system has its advantages and disadvantages but those who are less privileged than Jack are the ones who miss out and he needs to understand that. I just don’t understand why someone with A*A*A* would feel the need to complain about an education system that he obviously benefited from.
