There's lots of chat in Ana's threat but in case you didn't see it he was out for dinner with Ana and Haz in London tonight. Haz travelled down from Manchester which is under strict lockdown just for dinner and is now on her way home.

I know this tweet is talking about the UK government’s policy towards A-level results but to me it just seems like Jack is bragging about the fact that he did all his work last minute and still got a 1st.

Some people, myself included, have to work incredibly hard for the grades we want (it’s highly unlikely that I’ll get a 1st) and I put in so many hours of research and essay writing to get the grades I aim for. Yet, it seems that people like Jack can just swoop in last minute and get a 1st without even really ‘trying’.

I feel like he didn’t mean much harm by it but I felt slightly insulted by his phrasing of it, as if we can all just do things last minute.
Plus, I always found in university that the ability to pull things off last minute varied hugely between arts and sciences. If you bullshit your way through some rushed science, you will be categorically wrong and fail your assignment.

In the arts, your rushed writing may pass muster if your thoughts and opinions are valid, because there are many different valid thought patterns to pursue. Then you're at the whims of the marker of how well you do, but you probably won't fail.

Interesting that he's deleting/privating all evidence of Oxford stuff - pretty sure that means he's been rejected. Next time he does a Q&A on Insta, at least one of us should submit that question.

Also took a look at his LinkedIn - when he said he was a research assistant in his recent video, I presumed it would be academic research (i.e. assisting with data collection/analysis etc.). Nope, it's basically assisting an author to find sources for a self-help book. The irony.

He also lists the StudyTube Project as a current project - pretty sure it's defunct now as the novelty of lockdown has worn off; the last upload to the official channel was over 3 months ago.

I was just watching an old collab video, and listen to what Ibz says at around the 14:55 mark:

Very relevant to Jack right now I feel.

With the Bridgerton thing- are those even books that he would've read without the TV show?
Haha of course not. No way. Like the Harry styles and Taylor swift ones before it he chose them for clickbait and likes.

I definitely think people should be calling him out on the Ad, even if he isn't being paid there is a much better way to explain himself than just having Ad there. And if he isn't being paid or getting something in return then I don't see the need for Ad to be mentioned

I’m the same year as Jack. The transitional year meant that some A-Levels had been made into the new linear ones and some hadn’t yet, meaning some people (like me) ended up doing 2 ‘new’ A-Levels and 2 ‘old’ modular ones. My ‘new’ ones didn’t even have official textbooks released, and that included history. It really was a complete mess that was hugely overlooked and my grades were a lot less than expected despite working really hard. I give him credit for this but also openly stating you work at the last minute doesn’t really help the case.
He’s complaining though about how unfair it was but he got 3 A* so he wasn’t disadvantaged whereas many students were. Saying he didn’t work till the last minute makes him look fucking pathetic, not cool or relatable. And it doesn’t make any difference to students who work hard all year round and don’t get the grades they deserve because of an unfair system. Jack gets the grades from *privilege* not from being a hardworking student and it’s not fucking fair

I think people forget that when employers look you up they can and will check these things- you just KNOW he'll have put the StudyTube project on his CV but when an employer checks it out they'll quickly see that he stopped doing it.
Exactly. Just because he was the first person to think of a large-scale collaboration doesn't mean he orchestrates the whole thing, or is the chairperson or whatever. Literally every social media about the TSP stopped being active 3 months ago, so either everyone got bored of it, or he's keeping the account info to himself so no one else can take over (and therefore share the credit).

Also as a linguist, this TSP video triggered me:

It's the NATO phonetic alphabet, not just the phonetic alphabet. The International Phonetic Alphabet is a completely different system, and I'd have thought someone with an interest in English would have known to be specific.

I HATE it when Youtubers say their justification for ads is because it helps them make content and that they couldn't make videos without them...

Bitch please the ads are not supporting your channel, which costs so little to run (how much did the hummus cost? that's your biggest expense?), What you actually mean is "thanks for giving me so much money that I can rent in central London without a job"
THIS so much!

“Thank you for the opportunity to make more money off spamming you with stuff you don’t need”

Also I can confirm that Jack's sixth form college actually looks even fancier than my private school, so I have no idea what he's on about. In fact, if I didn't know any better, I'd have thought it was a private school! On the website of his college there's a virtual tour, so here's some images from that.
Oh my God, this is insane! As Jack would put it: "like my whole time at state school I had no clue what a good state school even looked like so seeing Jack's school is blowing my little mind"

I actually found his most recent video quite interesting. I much prefer when these studytubers use their channels to help educate with a more modern twist than when they try and pivot into lifestyle vloggers with no real focus to their channel.

Wouldn’t say for privacy reasons but it was someone in the entertainment industry, he was smug about it so bet he’s dying to tell everyone
Depending on the celebrity its not something to be too smug about. Celebrity PAs work bloody hard and often take a lot of crap.

I think this seals the deal he is after fame and celebrity rather than academic success. Which probably showed in his Oxford applications

I did linear alevels and my mum is an alevel teacher so knowing both systems, I don’t think there is much of a difference in amount of content - more just difference in when you are assessed. Jack did history and english lit, both of which have an element of coursework, even under the new spec. He should try learning the content for 3x 100% exam alevels the night before which is what I had to do. Personally, I definitely achieved better under the linear system because of mental health and family issues throughout the two years, so I wouldn’t have been able to cope with continuous assessment. But Jack makes everything about him, it doesn’t work all ways, each system has its advantages and disadvantages but those who are less privileged than Jack are the ones who miss out and he needs to understand that. I just don’t understand why someone with A*A*A* would feel the need to complain about an education system that he obviously benefited from.

His hair looks awful, it looked better all one colour before he did anything. Is it just me or have jacks videos gone really downhill recently? his content is so boring since he left uni, like making a big deal out of living on his own as if he’s just doing it for the first time.
No, it's not just you. Could also be a combination of the fact that he's doing youtube pretty much full time now he's graduated. I find a lot of people's content goes downhill once they go full time on youtube.

Okay so this is maybe a stretch, just something that's caught my attention lately. Not sure if people here know the youtuber idkimhaz (haz), but she's mentioned in past videos that she's had a big crush on Jack but wouldn't try anything because she respects that he has a girlfriend. Now maybe I just don't trust Haz (she comes across like the sort of person who would make a move regardless lol) but I've noticed that the two of them have been interacting a lot over the past year - remember when he broke covid guidelines to go out for dinner with her and Ana? And they've been in tiktoks together, have been commenting on each other's posts. Idk maybe I'm reading waaay too much into this, it's just that if I were his gf I'd be a bit uncomfortable considering how clear Haz made it that she fancies Jack!

[Edit: just clarifying that I by no means think that Jack is cheating or anything like that at all, it's just interesting]

Jack's degree results were published on 16 July, and still no word from him on Youtube or Twitter, about what grade he got.......its so suspicious, and I, for one, feel cheated that he is hiding this from us! We didn't need to know about the failed Oxford Masters application, but we do need to know his degree classification, after 3 years of watching him! Anyhow, I'm not watching his channel anymore....useless!
We don’t *need* to know anything about him.
Still since he decided to put his whole uni experience online and has talked about grades before it is suspicious ... Did Durham have a safety net like some other unis this term? (where your final grade won’t be lower than the one you had last year).

Jack is moaning on IG about job rejections. It's unsurprising (regarding both his moaning and rejections).

Also he said that he has a flat to move into in London - I don't understand 1) how he can afford one, 2) how he would pass the credit checks, and 3) why he would bother to waste the money when he's not doing anything there.

I hate everything he wears. His Instagram pics are just a huge collection of ugly outfits that not don't look good, items that don't go with each other, don't suit him and make him scream he is trying too hard.

And the vests...🤢🤢🤮🤮
It’s such an obvious copy of Harry styles, another trend Jack’s jumped on 😂

He did buy 43 books on Amazon, which, seeing the average new book is $15 where I'm from and some look like classics so maybe $10, that is around $400-600...
