Yeah to me is the classic example of a kid who was never cool and now has suddenly become 'cool' and popular thanks to youtube so feels he has a point to prove

When I was their age I really don't think I was as know it all or arrogant as these study tubers and influencers in their early 20s are.
Having been a student and having worked at a university they make me laugh so much. They act like they're the first to ever experience anything when half the time. I really think some of them are in for a shock when they enter the real world.

This is what I can't understand either. If he applied with a predicted first, and now has that first (by the skin of his teeth I might add), then literally nothing will have changed about his application.
I wonder why he actually wants to do a masters degree - because studying is a massive part of his brand? Because he wants to prolong entering work for as long as possible?

He's only 1st generation, probably because typically it was only doctors, vets, lawyers & clergy who needed degree level. Nurses, teachers etc went to colleges and gained diploma's - now most subjects are taught at degree level
He is still incredibly privileged, but the further education system has changed dramatically, so his parents possibly would've gone to Uni had they been of age now. Also University education is not an indication of intelligence, which I think a lot of Studytubers forget.

He could well have done. Even then I think it's somewhat healthy for him to maybe take a step back from the masters applications and focus on something else for a year rather than spending another year on applications.
The only bit I didn't like was his comments on the screenshot of the comment he posted. They were just asking a question. I know we aren't entitled to any details of his life he doesn't want to share, but when you put parts of your life online and there's gaps people will ask questions about the gaps to make sense. Whether he wants to answer them is down to him but he shouldn't get frustrated by people asking imo
That video really highlights how posh, privileged, precious and patronising Jack is. Also some of the advice he gives is highly questionable. I liked the other guy tho, he seemed grounded and most like any student I've met.

I wish Jack could see this. I hope he does. I think what Ibz Mo says about validation and “I got rejected and I need to deal with that rejection”, it’s so important to actually analyse why you feel bad about it and what you think that says about you. It’s a mature response.
Plus the whole thing about giving in a competitive application- it has to be THE BEST and sometimes you’re not the best and you just have to accept the redirection. Hope Jack learns this.

Okay yeah that was a bit weird - wasn't even shade, he outright named her! I think YouTubers think that being so candid is always good because it means they're being ~transparent and open~ but there are some times where it really would've been better to just say nothing. Maybe I'm overly sensitive but my mind would start spiralling if someone named me in a YT video saying they didn't 'connect' with me - like even if it's the truth, the person who hears it on the other end is inevitably going to overthink about how they came across. There was just no need for it, especially as it sounds like they were working together in a professional capacity on a project.
I also think Holly is kinda going through it at the moment, so maybe not the best idea to bring up her name in a mildly negative way just to show your followers how ~honest~ you are.

His vlogs after graduation have been so vacuous. I feel like he should've stuck with that screenwriting course, given how he has no job nor grad school plans. He could also spend some time volunteering if he can't get a job. Right now yt is still profitable for him, so he has the financial cushion to work without getting paid. Either of those two options would make for more interesting vlogs than what we're getting now.
