Just curious - has Jack ever posted any of his writing online?
He's never actually written anything from the sounds of it.

It's like all his talk about wanting to take a screenwriting course despite showing no interest in film; he's just desperately searching for hobbies and personality traits to try to stay relevant to an audience.

Lol, I find that so funny.

Jack: I AM A WRITER.
What do you write?
Jack: nothing
Then how are you a writer?
Jack: THAT IS MY IDENTITY. *mumbles something about Paris*

Interviewer: "So what did you like about this book you recently read?"
Jack: "The better question is what didn't I love about this book? This book is like your grandma coming over with biscuits and a birthday card with £20 in it. The author is a majestic creature and a true, bona fide genius. Put me in a huge cardboard box, advertise my oscillating features and sell me in the summer, because I am a really big fan. If this were South Park, I'd be Stan Marsh, because I'm Stanning for this book."
Interviewer: "But...what's the book actually about?"
Jack: "As you can see from the cover blurb, this book is about people. People and places. And ultimately, that's all life is. This author is like an enthusiastic cardio surgeon, because they really cut to the heart of the human condition. We love a good book."
Interviewer: "Right, but what actually happens in it?"
Jack: "Well, I don't want to spoil anything. You can check out my 5th YouTube channel for a 1 sentence review of it later this year though."
Interview: "And I believe you're writing your own book?"
Jack: "Absolutely. I'm Jeffrey Write. I'm Edgar Write. Call me the Write Brothers, because I'm flying into the sky of authordom in a plane I built with words. ...Did I tell you I got rejected from Oxford?"
Interviewer: "You don't say..."

First time poster here...

At first, Jack seemed to have his own little charm and I found his videos mildly entertaining. However, as I've watched more, I can no longer stomach his egotism, the odd giggles in the middle of sentences, and worst of all -- the relentless, non-convincing lies. He seems to base his entire personality on mimicking other people.

I've just watched his video titled "the best books i've read". The way he felt the need to brag about receiving messages from the cast members is so grotesque and transparent -- does he think this makes him endearing? God.

Another first time poster...
Does anyone else get the impression that Jack lies on his Goodreads account? For instance, I swear I saw that he read and rated the book "Less" and now he is yet to have read it in accordance to his latest video. Same with "The Beekeeper of Aleppo". I swear I saw his rating for it, but now it is in his "want to read" list! I hope I'm wrong, as that is very strange to pretend you read a book and rate it. Anyone else notice this?

The haul video... When he talks about not having anywhere booked to live tomorrow, just done his laundry, not even packed. Wtf? He can't even function and plan like an adult. I'm surprised he spoke about it. He's this close to having a mental breakdown! Quarter life crysis

Just watched the haul vid and got vaguely annoyed that he said he's writing about grief in his book (and is reading Notes on Grief by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie to learn about grief). He makes it sound like (and from what he's shared) he's never really had to deal with grief, so it makes me feel like he won't be equipped to write about it. Not to say you can only write about things you've experienced but in my experience, people our age (I'm around Jack's age) don't know tit about grief and bereavement unless they've personally experienced losing someone close to them. Idk not trying to be too negative, he might do a great job but I've just had so many bad experiences with people being extremely insensitive around grief that I got a bit annoyed at that

I would be willing to put a month's wage on his book being absolutely terrible, so of course his attempts at writing about grief will be equally as awful.

'OMG can we just normalise how sad I feel. I am the pope of mope. I am DEAD upset...'

One thing this world does not need is a book by Jacques Edouards.

👀

Not sure you want to be calling attention to the shittyness of charging inflated prices for a cheap and insubstantial product, Jack.

Well you dumb duck Jack you should have checked how many pages it had before you bought it. Most booksellers online list number of pages a book has.
This! It's listed on the book's page. To use The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo as an example, the info appears after the blurb on the Waterstones site:

It's also at the top of the page.

And on Amazon (UK) it's here:

I wouldn't pay £10 for a 20-page short story (and I say that as someone who loves Madeline Miller's writing), but it's not as if he didn't have the information before buying the book.

Re: his crappy planners - I honestly don't get why people buy them. I'm not talking about Jack's specifically, but any of the studytubers' products. It's cheaper and more efficient to just buy a basic notepad (which tbh will have better quality paper) and make your own to-do list. Simpler planning usually = better. A lot of stuff can now be organised using your phone or other devices, so it doesn't even need to be a pen and paper thing. Sometimes I just write a to-do list in a Word document or on bits of scrap paper. As long as it's nearby it'll work as a reminder. There's honestly no need to spend loads of money on a 'kindness journal' or whatever else they're trying to sell.

(some) English-native speakers (aka Jack):
Oh my god, you UNLOCK SOOO many new books when you read books from another country! Such a wild concept, the genre of translated fiction! 😳 ✨ such an exciting entirely new concept!! and did you know these books were not written with English-speaking readers in mind? Can you imagine we are not the center of the universe and not every single piece of fiction is written specifically to cater to English-speaking audiences???
