Announces he's going to be an author after showing zero interest in writing before and never having written anything.

Says he's going to share all his wisdom as a published debut author before he's even written a page, let alone sold a book.

Has a cover designed (by someone else) before he's written a single word.

Yeah, this doesn't come off as superficial, entitled fame-chasing at all...

I wouldn't be shocked if his management team reached out to a ghost writing company to get someone else to write the thing.

So does he have a publishing deal, or is he just going to self publish (which anyone can do). All surface level knowledge to share then, like always. He has the depth of a puddle

absolute clickbait, not about his book at all, just an ad for Fiver getting freelancers on the site ot design book covers to non-existent books, doesn;t even mention his book, the image from the insta story doesn't even appear with 'jack edwards' on it in the video

really weird concept because it's just one big ad for Fiver, nothing much more but I guess nice advertising for these freelance designers' skills

He did mention the writing newsletter though, I wonder when he's gonna send stuff?

So, just watching his video with Lena Norms. Does anyone else think he sounds very different on her video that in his own? Like his voice is higher pitched?

Christ on a bike. Either I'm just getting old and out of touch, or people are easily pleased these days.

Hi everyone, so I found this thread today and throughly enjoyed reading through the entire thing. I'm quite surprised that what I'm about to talk about wasn't mentioned at the time he posted it.

Basically I stumbled across his videos at the start of the pandemic, and found him quite endearing, having to leave university during a global pandemic etc etc. But from what started at curiosity soon turned into checking his social media posts frequently just to see how well and truly deluded he is. I particularly loved his free accommodation in London with a company that rips off students with no purpose apart from this being there for the aesthetic. Hence, why I wasn't surprised when he "moved" to Paris, aka moving from Airbnb to Airbnb, pretending to speak French (some of you will probably recall when he wore a horrendous suit and recorded himself ordering a coffee and pasta in French looking smug as if he said the most complex sentence), pretending he had a purpose there.

But one thing that irked me and really set off my dislike for him was when he posted this photo on his Instagram stories. I wish I screenshotted the rest of the story posts he had that day, but its the fact that he's clearly trying to post a thirst trap but then adding emojis like "omg i'm so embarrassed!" i can't remember the next story he posted but before he posted the picture he was like "avert your eyes!" and after he was like "okay back to book content you can look now!"

Like seriously? You've clearly just posted that for attention? If you've been hitting up the gym and been sticking to a routine and have started to notice results, by all means take a picture and be proud of your achievements. You don't need to share it, you can just have it on your camera roll. Secondly, if you do want your followers to see it, go for it, be proud, own it! Posting something like "god i'm so proud of myself for sticking to this regime and I'm happy with the results!" Don't pretend you were forced to post this against your will. You wanted the attention Jack.

So from that moment I just noticed that everything he does is just for attention, but he'll hide behind his intentions by going "WhoopS! Just sat down and realised this is where they filmed Emily in Paris! Silly me! I'm so clumsy!!"

It's the fakeness that just gets me so THANK YOU to everyone in this thread who has made my Sunday by making me laugh multiple times.

I've also seen that Jack sometimes reads this and indirect tweets about it so shoutout to you Jack!!! Post a thirst trap and own it, don't be fake deary!!

(Also he recommended that We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves has one of the best plot twists of all time and that is a complete an ABSOLUTE lie)

I just looked up this twist and good lord, that sounds like a laughably stupid gimmick.

Looks like a sponsored post this bit too.

these younger, shallower audiences are a bane on the culture
how do these people have the spare time to watch jack anyways? Shouldnt they be working/studying?
Or are they all living off mum and dad's money?
It's ridiculous to assume that because people have 20-30 minutes to watch YouTube once or twice a week they're living off of their mom and dad's money and not studying or working. One of the complaints I see a lot about studytubers on this site is how they don't show a good work/ life balance, but you think watching YouTube sometimes means you don't work or study?

Also, I can't remember how long his videos are typically so my time might be wrong, as with his upload schedule, but my point stands

when we had it for my book club it came with an envelope from publishers that told us not to open until a certain section... back then it was a very surprising twist though tbh but this far down the line it shouldn't be a shock to anyone who knows about books.

Just left a couple of comments on his latest Hay On Wye Video.. lets see if Athyn gets deleted..

PS he won't be able to get his head round A S Byatt as tbh I can't and I have an English Masters

Maybe it's just me, but regardless of the year, I'd have laughed my ass off and just tossed the book aside when I got to that twist. It sounds like a completely ludicrous gimmick reveal to try to generate word of mouth, and I can't see any book managing to make that not groan-inducingly stupid, especially one that's trying to deliver a serious drama.

@AthynVixen that’s what you’ll find on this channel — they’re all first impressions! If you want reviews, head to my main channel :) I can’t give an in depth analysis before I’ve read it!!

I was travelling to Berlin at the time when I read it and I literally threw it in the nearest bin I could find after getting off the train. I think the hype of him saying "this is one of the greatest plot twists of all time" made the reveal even worse I kept reading a bit longer to see if it was a joke

Reminds me of MonkeyNews with Karl Pilkington on the Xfm podcasts, where the subject of the story always turns out to be a “little monkey fella”…
