As a teenager, i would chat with strangers in chat rooms with a fake "asl" just for fun, i just remember i enjoyed the "flirting".
When i was around 17, bbm (blackberry messenger) was a thing. Somehow i added (or got added by) an older guy, maybe mid to late 20s, and he kinda invited me to his house?! ofc i blocked him right away but this made me scared because he was in the same city as me and he knew my face from my profile picture. I think this is what made me stop chatting to strangers until a few months ago, i joined a forum (?) for learning french and this guy kept asking for my pix while i just wanted someone to practice with! instantly blocked as well.

I didn't tell anyone cuz it's just embarrassing.
omg this has just reminded me.. when I was about 14 i got my own computer in my room, not sure if parents are maybe more aware now but if I had children I would have been much more cautious. I would spend hours at night (I never really slept well) on chatrooms chatting to random people, sometimes having cyber sex with men (this is before the days everyone had videocameras, thank god). But one person I spoke to stuck with me. I was quite depressed at the time and started speaking to this girl from America who was the same.. eventually we spoke about maybe meeting up somehow, and I was at the point of giving her my address to send me something.... Luckily I decided not to, very very nearly did. But looking back I am 100% sure I was talking to some old creepy man. It terrifies me what could have happened

I used to do the fake asl and cyber sex thing all the time too from about 10-13.I usually wouldn’t even lie about my age by much either .I went through a phase of giving my mobile number out to these people too and got people ringing me all the time ,some were clearly Middle Aged/old men .My parents used to go out on the weekend and leave me home alone all the time so aparantly this is how i filled my time

i remember I spent so much time closed in my room my mum at some stage thought I had a drug problem. I never gave my number to anyone, as far as I can remember, but that also might be as I didn't have one at the time... yeh lots of the people I spoke to definitely knew my age. so scary, when did chatrooms disappear?

That if I wasn’t so financially reliant on my boyfriend I’d finish with him. He’s so bloody boring, he makes no effort with my kids and constantly takes the piss out of me. I was fantasying earlier about winning tonight’s euro millions and how I’d give him some cash and say see ya. Alas I didn’t win a penny 😂. Maybe things will improve once lockdown ends.

Also when I’ve had a few drinks, I’ve got a plastic jug in the kitchen that I’ll pee in because I can’t be arsed going upstairs to the loo every 15 minutes.
this is foul.

when you’ve peed in the jug, what do you do with it?! Leave it sitting there? That’s actually vile. 🤢

When I was 14/15 I joined some weird dating site called flirtomatic, no idea why, curious I guess, obviously pretended I was 18, I spoke to some weird men, I stupidly gave one of them my number and he kept ringing and ringing and wanted me to send pictures and that scared me, maybe that’s why I could never do online dating now 😓

Honestly or even chatting to people as friends although sometimes I feel lonely and entertain the thought but i stop myself. I just can't trust what people pretend to be online (I also pretended to be older, oops) so really the most i can do is write on this anonymous forum🤣

When I was 10 I started going on chat rooms and talking to god knows who .Anyway I made friends with a girl who I think was about 12 and said she lived down south somewhere .We exchanged addresses and sent each other letters and photos ,she did actually appear to be who she said she was but I look back now and think wtaf was I doing giving out my address and sending off pics of me and my family to a stranger .I was just a very young child I suppose who couldn’t see the harm but how dangerous
I did this too! Didn't think it was harmful at all at the time, but I also thought the pop-ups for me to win a pink laptop were real too. Was very disappointed when it didn't turn up.

I actually ended up talking to all sorts of pedophiles though as well. I was around 11-12 and I used to go on webcam chat rooms. I was talking to this 'boy' for quite a while, a few months at least. He said he was 14, lives in the UK, not too far away actually. This was before 'sexting' was a thing but it definitely still happened. I ended up sending him some pictures, he'd never go on actual cam as he said he was shy although he'd sent me some pictures of 'him' beforehand.

How stupid was I. When he revealed himself he was some balding old man, threatened me and said he'd send the pictures around my whole school. I was absolutely terrified. I signed off and never went on that site again. Thankfully he didn't do it, but knowing someone has cp pics of me is sickening. My own stupidity really, but at the same time I had 0 knowledge of the dangers on the internet, and was incredibly young and naive.

I had someone randomly add me on Instagram and they started messaging me. Innocent pleasantries and out of no where he started telling me he had a fetish for women wearing adult diapers (he was american) and would I consider sending him a picture of me in one. I replied absolutely not. He then sent me a picture of himself in one and let’s put it this way it had been used. I immediately reported and blocked him. Now I have my own daughter it’s made me realise it easily may not just be adults he has a fetish for and I’m glad I blocked him.
I have loads of experiences and life lessons stored which I’m not exactly comfortable talking about but once my daughter is old enough I think may have to admit as I would never ever want her to go through or do what I have in life as I live with the daily shame and guilt. Is that normal to feel?

All you guys talking about chat rooms has got me remembering my first ever boyfriend! I was maybe 14, we met on Omegle (lol). It then progressed to Bebo and then MSN. We used to send each other letters, he wrote me songs, called me all hours of the night. But never went on video/shared pictures of himself as he was “shy”. He had a lot of difficulties with self harm and would often call me at 4am saying he’d attempted suicide and just needed to talk to me. I found myself texting him non stop throughout school, my whole life was this person I’d never seen a picture of. One day I was in London with my mum (about 4hrs from home), and we arranged to “bump into” each other. Unbelievably he was who he said he was (although quite a lot greasier and more emo-ier than I imagined). We told my mum we went to school together abroad (I’ve lived everywhere so quite plausible). A few more months of text/MSN dating and my mum (much to dad’s disapproval) let me get the train to London to stay at his house. We did this until I was 16 - until he became so manipulative, nasty and strange. all because I didn’t want to have sex with him. He used to create fake profiles of me on Bebo/myyearbook (again, lol) and write all sorts of horrible, derogatory things. He then started sending disgusting letters to my parents and citing me as reasons for his suicide attempts, all because I was “frigid”. He shared my address with his band mates who were all 20+ and heavy drug users. They turned up at my house in the middle of the night, threatening to burn it down if I didn’t get back with this guy. I never used online nonsense again after that! But know I was very lucky, at least he was real. 😬

At uni I was sat on my friends bed and accidentally wee'd after laughing too much. It was on her favorite fluffy blanket on top of the duvet.

I got up after a while and never told her as I was soooooo embarrassed 🙈 I bet it smelt horrible that night! 🤢

Ah my mum is a very sensible person (and slightly irrational, to this day she still insists on calling me whenever I’m on a train as apparently most sexual assaults happen on trains...) but I was an idiot and lied to her. Told her we went to boarding school together a few years earlier and I knew him well, never lost contact etc. I was being bullied a lot at the time and she just wanted to make me happy / see me have a friend other than my lovely history teacher 🤣. I really ruined things a bit for my younger siblings, internet/trust wise.

I had a boss (f) who was a right witch. Loved to humiliate her staff - in public at any given opportunity. (This was before every car had dash cams). So me and one of my work colleagues knew where she lived, she parked her shiny flashy car on the main road, so we drove past her car, I leant out the window with my steering lock and smashed off her wing mirror. Took a few attempts but so worth it when I saw it in the staff car park. Same mate was being cheated on by her boyfriend so we superglued matchsticks into the door locks of his van. Another mate - also being cheated on, boyfriend had an entertainer cosworth, loved it more than life, so we poured cooking oil and stones all over the bonnet. They got married... 🤦🏼‍♀️
Not so long ago I was in Waitrose with my daughter. I was perusing the bread and she wondered off. this absolute little b and his mother pushing a pushchair with another kid were standing next to me. This little fucker was having a massive tantrum and she was trying to negotiate with this 3 foot terrorist about what HE wanted, and he was screaming etc, as she looked so embarrassed, she walked away and as he went past I did a big stride forward tripping this little hole straight on his face!!!! Slap! He was crying and mum came running back and I said “aww are you ok..” 😏 and his mum carried him off! One thing I cannot abide is children in charge of parents!! Don’t feel bad at all.

When I was 17 the company I worked for had a party, so me and my friends were on the dance floor having a blast! A person from my department, much older than me (mid 30s possibly) went by the name of *jane but was a man in a dress. I was wearing a cute sheer backed off the shoulder top and trousers. I was dancing away and Jane came over, a finger in each corner of my top and pulled it down exposing my boobs for all to see! I was absolutely traumatised! I put in a complaint and Jane didn’t return. Still shudder at the thought.

Good on you for complaining! I think at that age I wouldn’t have known how to handle the situation

Oh wow your last story is really disturbing. This child could have had autism, adhd or learning disabilities. If I’d have witnessed your actions you’d be straight on your face too you weirdo.

I struggle a lot with diagnosed OCD. Something i have come to notice is that OCD is massively misunderstood and the stigma attached is really hurtful to sufferers. Everyday, even if it is the best day of my life, i have the most heinous intrusive thoughts. It breaks my heart a bit more everyday. When i get an intrusive thought my demeanour changes entirely, like a deer in headlights. People notice and i imagine think i am a miserable loser. I fight a lot to be understood but you just can’t make people understand.
I'm diagnosed OCD too. I used to feel exactly the same until I was put on Sertraline, before that I had the worst 6 months of my life. You're not alone ❤

I completely sympathise with you - hugs ❤ I get intrusive thoughts too and I’m sure I have OCD. Every so often I get awful thoughts about people I love and terrible events happening and I feel evil for thinking them in the first place. I’ve never told anyone in case they think I’m an awful person. They make me feel physically sick and like I’m going to cry. When it happens I go through a silly ritual in my head in an attempt to stop them coming true. I’ve never been diagnosed and I’m too nervous about going to the doctors because I wouldn’t know what to say, and Im worried that they wouldn’t believe me or couldn’t help. Hope you’re ok and that things get better for us soon xx ❤
You wrote exactly how i feel. Thats so difficult to do. If you ever have to talk to anyone please don’t hesitate to send me a message. We’re all in this together xxx
