So one of my classmates died over the weekend and the school/students weren’t notified until tonight. We just spent the entire class sharing memories and crying and then just sitting in total unprompted silence.
Alice got addicted to the roar of cyber-applause. She’s on her knees nightly, clutching a bottle of wine like it’s the last elixir on earth and weeping over the pieces of her supposedly broken life, but the funny thing is: it’s still a fucking life.
She keeps trying so hard to tear the world down with her like a pair of expensive curtains. It’s like she wants to inflate her grief in such a way that it appears unlike any struggle humankind has ever confronted, but it’s a LIFE, Alice. Sometimes it’s fun, other times it’s challenging, sometimes you wanna cruise through it and other times you want to get off the ride.
But she has so LITTLE respect for life in this moment, and I can say that without knowing her, because what I witness is sparkling evidence all on its own. She doesn’t respect Ioan’s life. She sure as a prayer doesn’t respect Bianca’s life. She doesn’t respect her children’s lives. She doesn’t respect your life, nor mine, nor the lives of her enablers. And she, most tragically, doesn’t respect her own.
I’m rambling and I sound silly, I don’t know where I’m taking this. I just wish she would stop this NONSENSE. That’s all it really is, in the grander scheme of having a heartbeat. I think about my classmate and then I think about people who are wasting the life he wanted to have and SHOULD have gotten to enjoy more of. Alice needs a mirror, or a new pair of eyes.
