In answer to this question in the previous thread. Yes, she thinks she was the injured party, and I doubt she will ever change her mind. I suspect she has a very old-fashioned view of marriage and that if you have children, you are married for life. I wonder if Alice's mother had a similar view, which is why Alice has ended up so damaged.

Going back to this comment from the last thread; I definitely think Ioan was guilt tripped into it. The miserable wedding photos say it all.
It's obviously hard to say because people tend to pretend in the public to have a happy marriage when they dont actually have it (since 2015-ish Ioan was struggling with this, it became every year more apparent that he was unhappy), but generally speaking I had the impression that Ioan was happy until around 2015 (obviously it's again not easy to say because Alice had no Social Media until 2013). Of course this doesnt mean that Alice was awesome during that time, but that he simply didnt took her behavior as anything bad (it's quite common among many survivors to simply think you deserve it or something like that), the proposal story showed this well. It is telling - and of course it could be just a coincidence, the infamous 20 years itch, menopause, midlife crises etc period fell into this - that a shift happened when he was able to see (on twitter especially) how she treats others as well. What I'm trying to say with this is that I dont believe that he was in pure survival mode waiting to be rescued the entire marriage. And if he was I also believe that having kids helps here, at least temporary

I dont think Alice is old-fashioned. The old-fashioned approach just happens in this case to support her cause.
To answer the question: I mean, look at that woman Alice started following, the one that sends judges materials to educate them. And it's common over there: "Judges etc lack training in DV/DARVO etc, we know it better". Obviously this will be true in selected cases, but this system basically assumes that all Karens are in the right and the judges are all bad. And this is how it is with Alice too. She has the same belief that she is in the right and everyone else isnt.
The bizarre thing is that Alice would have been the wronged party (for normal people) in different circumstances. If she had kept it zipped the sole fact that Ioan started then dating a young woman later on (no matter how many years later) and retained most of their assets (as per prenup) would have created the narrative Alice so much craves. Heck, even just the divorce in itself does the job nowadays! and she wouldnt even have a Restraining Order, and quite possibly even a somewhat peaceful relationship to him as well.
I would never claim Ioan did anything wrong by leaving his wife, having a new relationship with a consenting adult and deciding to live with that consenting adult. His public demeanour and general reputation is that of a good decent and affable man. Who has indisputably been abused by a toxic, narcissistic and aggressive woman.
What I do wonder is whether he has a problem with co dependency. That would have been exacerbated by his relationship with big, bad and broad. I don’t know if it is because of the focus this thread has on his life which centres on his time with Alice and also Bianca. But it does look like he becomes dependent on people, one awful and one nice. The pattern repeats in Ella, who has replaced him as the co dependent in Alice’s life. I would say being co dependents is one of the reasons why they can’t connect now. One of many reasons.
I can equally see why Ioan didn’t want to be on his own after he left Alice.

Gypsy's mother would also control her by withholding affection, unless she did as she was told. I may be way off, but I just can't help but wonder if this is striking a chord with Ella. If so, I hope she can begin to see how hard her father is trying to rescue her.

She could have even gone on to forge a career of sorts from it, maybe even been on one of those women's panel shows, gotten a column in a national newspaper, etc. She really shot herself in the foot over and over again, and now the majority of people who actually know she exists see her for the crazy abusive witch she is. She's made herself a laughing stock and a byword for abusive women. Yet she's still out here telling herself and us she's as strong as an ox and the smartest person in the room.
Well the abuse wouldn't have surfaced via the court docs but anyone with a brain who took the time to look could see that it was an abusive relationship. Before the separation she was calling him a 'pussy' on twitter etc. Most people don't examine tweets though and it takes a DVRO for them to recognise that abuse was going on especially as the stereotypical roles are reversed and a woman is the abuser.
However "everything she wanted" was Baby Angel living in the garage, pretending they had a good marriage and paying for her lifestyle and she wasn't going to get that. So for her, the next best thing was to publicly abuse him and BW as she knew how that would affect him. She also knew how withholding and PAing the kids would affect him, so she did that too.

I am sure for a part of the population this reductive interpretation would have been accurate. For me it is everything that is wrong with people who want to shame Ioan and catch blame in his direction. All he did was leave a marriage that wasn’t working. As painful as that is for the person being left, they shouldn’t automatically get wounded puppy status.
Life and relationships aren’t as simple as man = bad and woman = saint. Celebrity relationships have a high rate of failure. There are lots of affairs and there are lots of people with narcissistic traits and shallow behaviours. In this case we catch blame in Alice’s direction because of the proven abusive behaviour.
I mean if you decide to marry the notorious drunkard actor with a string of failed relationships, you should know what you are in for.
Ioan had a long relationship and marriage to Alice. There were no high profile tales of him playing around (a dodgy SM claim by a troll isn’t evidence). He left and put a decent amount of time between the end and his new relationship. So I think Alice’s claim that he behaved badly are nonsense. The problem is she is too immature and abusive to deal with the end of a relationship

There have been rumours about him being flirty but Alice is the one with the rumours of actual cheating, with one of her The Originals co-stars. I wouldn't be surprised if he had cheated, but not all actors who work away from home cheat. Most narcs however do cheat and I firmly believe Alice is a narc.
She admits she used to going through his texts etc to find out if there was any cheating. If there was, it was probably one night stands / escorts rather than the affair AFE had.

Would make sense - she was a beautiful (MOO) leggy blonde, well spoken, fluent in French. Even if she wasn't doing actual sex work, she could certainly have been paid for turning up at events and wafting about.
