I think Alice would have hidden her worst aspects from Ioan, and she also wouldn’t have been as bad in the early years as she would later become.My side-eye with Ioan is he would have seen her at her worst attacking other people but still married her. Some ppl enjoy being in a narcs inner circle because it empowers them, they feel like it means they’re special and they get a buzz from it. The ‘official’ fan lady strikes me as like that, she felt elevated and she was giddy from it. It’s weird because the role they get is so yes-man and servant-like, it’s demeaning. Think of teenagers that suck up to the school bully.
It’s possible Ioan didn’t see it much and confused her arrogance for confidence, and her nastiness for over assertiveness. Then the rose tinted glasses fell off ..
Don’t forget Alice’s social media post where she made fun of Ioan for saying to her “the woman I married wouldn’t be so harsh/make fun of people” (I can’t remember the exact words). Alice then said something like “Can you introduce me to this woman you married” (I think, my memory is hazy).
IMO it took several years for Ioan to realise what Alice was like, as she wasn’t as bad as she is now, and also hid the worst sides of her personality from him.
He seems to be a fundamentally decent person, and no one apart from Alice (and Tone) has a bad word to say about him. While Alice has left a trail of destruction and public fallouts behind her.
Alice was superficially charming, good-looking, fun, exciting, and of course, energetic and loud. It’s no surprise people used to gravitate towards her. If you watch early interviews with her, she seems very likeable.
I often wonder what would have happened if Ioan left her for a strong vocal character who gave no fucks (I don't think he ever would as that is what he is escaping). She will meet this person in the future. She has lived most of her adult life being a 'celebrity' and demanding the respect she thinks she deserves. When she is working in Starbucks and is spoken to in the manner most servers get spoken to she's going to tit a brick !

Alice wanted an internet war and saw it as a way to gain traction, she thought she was going to be the next Brandy Glanville and has basically plagiarised her back story. I only read Brandy's book last year and OMFG loads jumped off the page that Alice has used/said. The whole reason Alice has taken that place in BHs is because she still thinks she is rhobh material. I don't think anyone is as evil/lazy as Alice when it comes to Z list celebs. Lauryn and Jack M might be talentless grifters but they put some effort into monetizing their tit. They have websites, 'products' of a kind to sell. All AFE can manage is harassment and abuse via her sock accounts and selling bullshit stories to the DM. That's the sum total of her efforts when she's not PAing the kids.
