I have, for the first time.watched Alice Evans as an actress. The first thing I saw her in was an interview on French TV - she was sublime, shiny, charismatic and looked very pretty (but in a kind of real prettiness not beauty.)
The Vampire Diaries - tit, she was TOTALLY beige. Forgetable and bland. And when she spoke there was a weird sybilant action with her mouth, not quite a lisp, but very close. When she stood and said something along the lines of "Come forward my sons", I just started laughing. Her mouth was wrong. Compared to the French interview, it is clear she has truly messed around with her mouth, and not in a good way. I think Alice was very eye catching for a very short period of her life. Also, having watched "Un Pour Tout" it is clear she is prettier in photos than she is on screen. She just does not 'shine' or 'pop' on screen. Her ex husband does - he looks better on screen than on photo.

I think Alice will have a complete breakdown at some point and then what have you got? Two angry girls and an overweight Chi mix dog that pisses in the house and probably isnt socialised enough to live with another dog. Dan was an absolute hole who lied to Betty and gaslit her. She also supported him financially. Alice could not be more different from the situation except that she has the same personality disorders as Betty and is likely to respond in the same way as she did to rejection.

Something just occurred to me… thinking about the difference between how Betty Broderick treated her kids vs how Alice treats them. Dan Broderick wasn’t a very involved father until after he left Betty, which is why she thought she could get him to come back by dropping the kids off at his house and showing him how much work it is to raise them.

The fact that Alice didn’t try this strategy on Ioan, to disrupt his relationship with Bianca, I think it’s a tacit admission on Alice’s part that she knows Ioan is a great dad, and he and Bianca would have thrived with the kids had they had unrestricted access to them. The alienation, I think, is not just to punish Ioan. It’s also because she’s terrified that if she doesn’t turn the girls against I and B, they’ll prefer them to Alice. I think she’s terrified of being alone and is afraid that’s exactly what will happen to her if the girls ever bond with him and Bianca.

I wanted to reply to this but was too busy yesterday. in a way Alice already did her version of the "drop the kids on the ex". This is 2021

She is basically suggesting here 80 % custody for Ioan, possibly because she thinks he wont take it. Or...

4 days after this message she tried to set up a abuse scenario (this is the incident where she tried to film the facetime convo with a 2nd phone in the hope he snaps during Ella's outburst)

So basically any time Alice suggests herself anything that gets Ioan more time with the kids she is just trying to set something up.

Just because she supported him financially in the beginning doesn’t mean someone has to remain married to someone, especially after
20 plus years. He more than repaid his debt and there was plenty of money for Betty to have a home etc.
Marriages end and a lot of us agreed that even if Ioan did cheat, knowing how bad things were at home, if it led to Bianca and a break from his abuser, power to him. I suspect living with Betty was very similar to living with Alice.

PS I don't think she will involve the kids in murder plot, just abuse, perjury, theft, etc, ie, lesser crimes. The kids wouldn't be much use to her if they end up in prison. She won't be another Betty B.

I wanted to be one of the cool kids so I started watching Fascination, but by now the thread has moved on. I'm still commenting, tho, eventhough it's yesterday news. I can't be suffering for nothing!?

Only half an hour in. Holy tit the acting's bad. Not just Alice, the lot of them. So I'm not gonna blame Al this time, I'll blame the director. Also, horrible writing. And sound editing. And there's more than an hour to go.

Alice indeed isn't sexy or hot in this, she's not even pretty. I'm honestly surprised. (And I think she looked lovely in Dalmatians and that she could be quite stunning when she didn't dress like a clown.) It's like they were trying to catch all her bad angles. No grace anywhere, she's kinda elephanty in that way. Also I now understand why she prefered herself blonde. This shade and shape of brown is not her look.

Anyway, going back in. I hope somebody gets eaten by a shark, because right now the whole thing is boring and cringe.

Sorry, not sure if you really understood what I said above. So I repeat: Dan was an absolute hole who lied to Betty and gaslit her. She also supported him financially. Alice's situation is not even VAGUELY like Betty's, except for the fact that both Betty and Alice have followed the same Histrionic/Narcisstic Personality disorder behaviours (to date and hopefully not in the future)
