I decided to rewatch Series 3. Michelle is buzzing, Banjo and Amy ❤ and even the ridiculous "creative genius" Paul, so much better!

Kate’s ‘brand’ is hacks, mainly Ikea. As there’s not a whole entire website dedicated to them. Oh wait…

I felt like this last year too - Matt was a much better designer overall than Roisin, but the prize for winning the series suited Roisin’s aesthetic better

I think Craig should've had more praise for thinking about how awful it is to sit facing a wall for hours - his design was really good (and believe me, I was prepared to dislike him from his hair/beard/shorts combo). Putting in a sink/breakout area/somewhere to eat lunch when it's raining makes it a much more practical place to work.

I like having a nosey and seeing what they kept - surprised they kept Emma's freehanded painting...

Studios at Boxworks - Boxworks

Studio 2 Rita
Studio 7 Craig
Studio 15 Bradley
Studio 16 Emma
Studio 18 Victoria

Presumably the others are rented out already.

I thought they all had a better grip of the brief than I would have, I'd have shoved in grab rails and modesty screens for the commode. I would have liked to have seen more Holly, I do think her designs would have become boring but she so much like a Carolone Aherne character I delighted every time she was on screen. The poor premise and design aside her planning was piss poor on that one (not enough MDF and hoping some would magically appear)

I've only dipped in and out of this, but just watching the final, blimey, can't stand stand wallpaper on ceilings! Giving me a headache!

Michelle literally said in her critique this week "I'm seeing this across the board, as a collective, my designers are not getting certain things about cohesion and furniture" - she seemed really frustrated at the standard.
Maybe they need a masterclass or be told to read a book or two - do they learn everything from AI and Tiketty Tok?

I like the tomato thing. Lol and the striped light. Irrelevant though as I'm not UK based. I don't believe for a second she designed any of it though. It's typical fast fashion homeware trends they've slapped her name on. Stripes and foody themed. Not ground breaking is it. They probably had a cheetah print group of stuff ready to go if Sophie won. These ladies are not product designers so it seems like a random prize for people who say they want to get into interior design.

After a knackering day traipsing round with the kids Sophies' would give me a headache, although Lias' bedrooms were boring and a bit generic. Agree it's been a bit lack lustre this year but has managed it's usual trick of getting me all fired up with some paint stripper and a nail gun!

The previous guy who won solely on his Portmerion design in the final had an instantly forgettable range for John Lewis that can't have shifted many units

I preferred Sophie’s too but absolutely no one was worthy of ‘master’ It’s becoming laughable now

Michelle was saying that it needed to follow the brief about being a place for the dogs to learn in a hoke environment and so she thought that Victoria’s, which was a corporate sitting room, was great? You had to think about how dogs behave and so Bryony’s fabric drapes and pots everywhere was also ok by Michelle? The lady keeps changing her mind!
Having had a slightly unhinged Terrier we saw Bryony's room and said our dog would have gone on a rampage in there! The brush heads on the ramp would have been shaken to death as would the drapes. Seemed very impractical to me.

I lost the will in end so didn’t see if any of the box owners were asked for their opinion. Massively agree on the shit budget. It’s like changing rooms with haughty guest judges

John was carried through to the semis by Craig. I don't know how he survived three weeks on the sofa, and countless weeks not finishing stuff. I think Victoria was a stronger designer than him, it's a shame she was kicked out in the hospitality box week.
I'm not keen on Briony's style, but at least she generally gets things finished.
