Twitter is still in meltdown over Matt making the final. I find it quite amusing.

I'll blame Tony Adams. Since he quit Strictly his votes had to go somewhere 🤣 🤣
I don’t agree with many aspects of how Matt conducted himself during the pandemic, including lying and cheating, but he wouldn’t be getting all this hate if he wasn’t a posh white man 😆 Twitter’s a bit of a cesspit

What’s been the highlight for everyone so far? For me it was the Jungle Arms. I prefer it when they get on [and my favourite campmate seemed more genuinely happy that night than at any other time in there]. That episode ended on a feel-good. ☺

As someone who’s never been inclined to watch before, got to say the cyclone underwhelmed me a bit, sorry. Maybe cos all 4 were too good at it and because one used it as an excuse to be physically violent.

I think Mike sealed his fate there bitching about matt and turning his tops around so you can't see the number. He has a nasty streak.
He doesn't like matt fair enough but you don't have to show it all the time alot of people don't like or support the Royal family but nobody treated him differently or was nasty to him in there did they.
Think it's hilarious that matt is beating all these nasty has been "celebrities".

I totally disagree. And that's fine, we're allowed different opinions.
The campmates are allowed to treat Matt differenly and it gets swept away, but if Matt was to do the same there would be outrage and he'd never get away with it. Imagine if Matt had of jumped on someone half his size like Mike did? Matt is being held to a higher standard.
Mike seemed borderline conspiracy saying mat was showing his number more because he wants to win. As if that would make any difference and they're all there to win it!!
Mike is a rugby man with a large, strong physique and he was playing a physical game with other adults. I honestly don't think it was that bad, especially in the context of the Cyclone challenge which demands resilience to a bit of rough & tumble. Jumping on Matt was just part of the game to protect the stars and if anything, probably looked worse than it was.

Incidentally, I thought it was interesting how different it all looked when they slowed the action right down. The slow-mo clips made everything seem so much more dynamic - bigger, better, bolder etc. I'm sure that also affected people's perceptions of how the game was played.

Of course they all want to win, nothing wrong with that per se, but I thought it was a bit sneaky of Matt re the clothing thing. I find it a bit cringey on Strictly when the dancing couples are miming hearts, telephones etc and pleading for votes as their phone number is read out but loads of them do it and it's not done on the sly.

I just think Matt reckoned he was being clever and getting one over on the other celebs. If he'd done it when the others were all watching and/or mentioned it to them and had a laugh about it then it wouldn't have looked quite so desperate.

Charlene you said the words “I’m a celebrity get me out of here” and got booted out first if anything it conquered you.
Charlene’s ‘conquest’ of the jungle is on par with Il Duce’s of Abyssinia. You know: a bit tit and, uh, didn’t really happen.

All this meltdown on social media about Matt is precisely the reason he's doing well 🤦‍♀️

There's a large amount of reaching to blame him for things that only helps him. Much of the criticisms of him wanting to win, playing an act, loves the attention etc you can level at just about all of them.

He's twice as likely as Owen to win in the betting odds.

I hope there's no one political next year as it all feeds into fracturing and arguments having someone so divisive. The world needs less of this.

As massive as it is Twitter can be a total echo chamber especially if you only follow and engage with like minded people.

I'm in my 50's and my husband and I both use Twitter but only for news really. I very rarely tweet myself. The thing is none of our friends or family use Twitter or forums, maybe a bit of Face Book but that's it. There are huge swathes of the public who don't engage in social media and that's why it always comes as shock when votes don't go the way people expect.

I’ve seen rumours it’s a fix as all the celebs in the cyclone were eligible- no non swimmers, heart issues etc. However think it’s a good coincidence, not a fix as there were few of those :)

Does anyone know if there will be a coming out show this year, or when it will be shown. I always enjoy it.
On Mikes coming out & going to the hotel photos there’s a camera crew inside the hotel filming him as he walks in so I think there will be.

David Ginola had heart issues and he did it.

I’ve been lurking on this thread the whole series, loving reading everyone defending their favourites!
Owen to win for me, only cos I’d ride him like a train given the chance 😉

You’d probs have more of a chance if he didn’t win 😂 he’d still be hanging around Essex nightclubs instead of spending his money

What a ridiculous post. My dad played professionally and many of his friends did too. I've been to RL dinners and met loads of players over my 66 years. They are funny, sportsmen, hold jobs like everyone else. Anyone can drink alcohol - even me!!!! Do you?

When dad died a trophy was given in his name, and players of all ages from their 30s to 80s kept in touch with mum. They are loving, caring, normal people who shouldn't be associated with clap trap from people who don't know them.
Sorry for upsetting you, my experience of rugby players was the local town rugby club, and an ex boyfriend (not associated with the local club). I used to go to the local pub with my friend, whose brother played for the local team. The culture of drunken debauchery was toxic in that environment, they were shagging girls in the toilets and the carpark behind their girlfriends backs, and boasting about all the revolting antics they got up to on rugby tour (so much for"what goes on tour stays on tour!"), so unfortunately my experience of them was a very negative one. My ex confirmed the culture to me, he was lovely but had a lot of issues of his own that I suspect he drowned in drink.
My husband is a kiwi, a huge All Black's fan, but he told me the culture is very similar in NZ where the sport is called "thugby" in certain quarters.

I have met a few rugby players and socialised with them when I was younger. Mike is definitely like them. Faux-macho, a cold arrogance and an irrational disdain for others, especially those they feel threatened by. When they eventually speak it is either drunken, macho "banter" (which is code for male bitching), or it reveals that in fact they can be a bit thick, have no opinions on anything of substance, and actually have very little in between their cauliflower ears. They hide their insecurities with toxic masculinity and drunken debauchery.

I realise I am making a massive generalisation and I am sure there are some rugby players who are nice blokes, intelligent even. But none were that I met.
You haven't met any Welsh ones then 😅

This has aged particularly well! He might indeed 😍 Love it

ETA it’s getting a bit more obvious whose team placed those cameras and why… 👁👁
