She loves the drama and the engagement that she is finally getting through tattle. I’m going to take this as a mega compliment because I am actually a mum and in a roundabout way she has said that I’ve been the ideal one. Cheers mate. It’s been really hard at times and has taken a lot of energy and sacrifice and I’ve not had the best support nor role models, but I’ve done okay I think. Maybe an example of a normal decent mum just isn’t something that feels familiar to her.

My teens say I’m “goated”.

(For those who don’t own teenagers: ‘goat’ = ‘greatest of all time’. Goated is therefore a good thing, apparently.)

I'm not a mum but I grew up in a single parent family, my my mum worked HARD and long to give us the life she didn't have.
My best friend is a single mum who educated herself after leaving school at 14, she now runs a successful business and employs one of her sons to ensure he has work in an unstable economy.
These are just two examples of strong and capable women that I know. They're the ones people sympathise/empathise with when things go tits up because they did everything they could to better their and their children's lives without being grubby scabs of society.
