Have you heard 🤞
Thanks for asking!

No I didn't get the job, they offered it someone in the same industry.
Had another 2 interviews in the last fortnight, which I did not get - same response.
It is so disheartening!

I have even applied for jobs paying a lot less, but get told that I am overqualified....you can't win!

I feel you so hard with this, I applied for a job that is in a completely different industry to what I am in now as I fancied a change, it would have been an £8k pay cut but I was willing at the time ... to then get a call saying they think I would be bored as I am well over qualified for what they're looking for.

Turns out the candidate they did hire was a graduate, and they ended up offering him the job at £5k less than what was advertised too so I'm glad I didn't get my hopes up too hard !!

What is meant to be will be, and what passes you by is not meant for you <3 xx

(I am still on the hunt for a new role too, but feeling positive !!)

Reviving this thread!

Negotiated a pay rise at work during our end-of-year reviews/appraisals, and I've gone from 43k to 47k and received a 2k bonus (better than nothing lol)

Been at this company a year in June, so overall not bad given the dreadful economy. Would ideally like to be on 55-60k given my experience but the job market is bleeping terrible right now or they want you in the office 3-4 days a week (I do 2 atm)

39k p/a - 25 years old, but I do a lot of overtime so end up taking home 3-3.5k after tax.
Live with my parents, no bills, but I still struggle to save - the more you earn, the more you spend 🤣

I get just over £33k now as my hours changed and I had a pay drop. But this year I've had between 10-95hours overtime a month which I hope continues. Definitely got overtime until September at least. I really need to start saving and stop booking holidays especially as my mortgage will go up next year and I live alone

This actually makes me really sad as a teacher with almost 2 decades experience and earning nowhere near these amounts.
I think it's time I started looking at other jobs but no idea where to start or what else I could do.

I work in corporate sales training and a lot of us are former teachers. Big salaries in this field.

£191.10 every 2 weeks on Job Seekers Allowance as an unemployed accountant.

Money does not even touch the the sides when it comes to my bills.

I just cannot get a job at my age, despite my wealth of experience 🙃

Check out the Sales Enablement Collective. Also if you're interested in Learning and Development rather than a pure sales focus, CIPD has resources and information.

27 year old on 40k, about to have our first child and unfortunately being a woman in the construction industry means I am about to go down to SMP - absolutely stressed about everything I can't lie, any advice on earning a little extra while on maternity leave?
I will add, we are extremely lucky we both earn a very decent wage for our age group, but we bought our first renovation property a year ago so all savings have been rinsed 😂

TA on £22,850 a year. For what we do, an absolute joke. Yes we get the holidays (unpaid I might add) but we're teaching interventions daily with groups of upto 10 children yet classed as "non-teaching staff". On top of everything else - constant photocopying, trying to bring down dis regulated children amongst 400+ other things 🤔🤣

Teacher here! TA’s are worth their weight in GOLD!!! And the pay you are given for what you do makes my blood boil. Having my wonderful TA is the only reason I am still in the job. Our school budget dwindles by the day and we are constantly being told we might not be able to have TA’s in school in the near future. I teach 4-5 year olds, high SEN and behaviour needs with lower ability children who need daily interventions in reading, writing and maths. It’s such a hard job, I thank my lucky stars every day I still have her ⭐

I work in the NHS in an admin role for 55k. I’m pretty happy considering I joined the NHS 4.5 years ago as a band 4 earning 22.5k! No prior experience, I used to be a hairdresser with my own business but packed it all in as I hated it!

I would love to progress more but I’ve decided to stay put for a bit, I’ve got a lot of life stuff going on at the moment (house Reno and ivf 😵💫) so this feels comfortable for me!

That’s amazing. I’ve only ever heard people moaning about NHS admin roles. How do you find it?

I personally love it, my favourite job was being a PA but I just needed more money! I moved from an operational role to a quality, risk and safety role and thoroughly enjoy it. The NHS is sadly on its knees but the work life balance I have is good and I can’t complain ☺

31k medicines data analyst. Wanted a career in academia and did a PhD but just wasn’t for me in the end. Got loads of experience in data analysis and clinical trials and now I’m in a job that allows me to WFH and work flexibly as I have caring responsibilities for my Nana. Would love to go back to uni to retrain to be a nurse but I can’t afford the drop in pay when I’m wanting to start a family and move house 🥲
