Sorry but I wouldn’t either. I read the other day about someone being denied travel from a Scottish airport due to a similar thing. They had travelled on it previously with no issue too.
I have been to the Algarve in April a few times. We went last year and the weather wasn’t very good. It was sunny and then it clouded over and got very cold but I think the same was happening in the UK at that time. On previous years the weather was fine, just a bit chilly in the evenings
When I was researching holidays for next year I put a Malia hotel on my list as people in reviews were saying it was the best holiday they have had (family with teenagers) and it had great reviews. We are not party people but I found that the old town is quite close to the party strip so I thought it would give us the option of both a more peaceful area and then if we fancied it a night out. I've never been so can't actually comment on what it's like and my friend decided on another option. It was my top choice tbh as the hotel reviews were great on TripAdvisor and it was walking distance to both the strip and old town but the hotel probably wasn't as nice looking as others so my friend picked another plus she was put off with it being Crete although she's put off any country with a party area which is stupid because most do and she just doesn't know about some.
Also look at Hersonissos, very lively at night but a nice walk along the front
And the check in staff/boarding agent. If they allow you to fly but you get denied entry at immigration, the airline gets fined heavily.
Great to hear. Did you hire a car? I know the bus service is good but don't know whether it's worth getting a car just for a day.

Thank you. Primarily, we just want to relax at the pool/beach, but would like to do a couple of trips to break each week up. A safari, trip to a nature reserve, boat tour, that kind of thing. It's unlikely we'd venture out aside from those trips. We'd be even less likely to venture out at night, dinner and a couple of drinks after is about the limit of our evening.
We went to the Gambia in 2022. We’re pretty active when we go away and didn’t find there was that much to do, but uf you’re looking for a chilled holiday that’d work for you. We hired a driver for a couple of days to sightsee which was good. Tui were offering a day trip to Senegal which we were told required a yellow fever jab to enter (we didn’t do that trip). Strangely once in the Gambia that requirement disappeared. We found a week was long enough. Early spring and the weather was pretty good.
