We changed our holiday to St Lucia, TUI were great. A few extra costs as different airport, new seat reservation costs, but overall we're getting a pretty good deal and still getting our holiday. So sad for Jamaica, but hopefully they are able to get themselves up and running soon as tourism is so important to them.

Finally December and the month of our cruise! I can finally say “we are going this month”. Got some new clothes for it in the Black Friday sales so I’m all set. I need to restrain myself from starting to pack already.

Does anyone get terrible anxiety before a big holiday thinking of everything that can go wrong and how they don’t deserve to go on the holiday 😆 I have been waiting all year so excited now it’s the week before I am riddled with anxiety. I’m not an anxious person but every time before I go away is the same 😣😣

My holiday anxiety is awful I pack and unpack my case multiple times before I go because I can’t sit still I need to chillax 🤣 such a difference coming home from the holiday couldn’t care less about the travelling everything gets shoved in the case and still half drunk on the flight from the night before 🍷
When I go away I always buy a new 'airport outfit' which to me is the equivalent of when my mum used to buy me new outfits for Christmas day... I'm a 35yr old woman 😂

way home is a different story, don't give a shite what I look like, what I wear and could not care less about anything in the cases.

We have just got back from a 2 week interrailing trip round France Italy and Swizterland (with sode trips to.Monaco, Austria and Liechtenstein) and it was one of the best experiences in my life! The trains on the whole went really smoothly (apart from being thrown off a broken down sleeper train at 6am and having to wait 4 hours for a replacement and the inadequate rail replacement services in Italy) We had amazing weather and I have totally fallen in love with Switzerland!

I've been on a proper downer since I got home, I could have quite happily turned round and done it all again!

Have booked Florida for next year with virgin staying at lake Buena Vista resort and spa. I'm so excited I've not been since I was a wee girl. Went all out and going upper class both ways. It's crazy money but worth it after the few years we have had as a family so surprising my husband and sons with the day we fly

I've a job interview for a fixed FT position in a job I'm currently in and I have two flights booked, one in March and one in April (four days each and both around weekdays)... I don't care if it means not getting the job because of it as I always have other opportunities, it sounds ignorant AF but lads I'm just a 25 year old girl life is short 🙈💃

How far ahead do you guys book holidays?

I’m seriously thinking of booking a 2027 cruise (finally) since it gives me time to save and I’ll just have to pay a deposit upfront.
However, it feels so far away and I’m anxious about not knowing what my financial situation will be so far ahead or even what if someone invites me to something during the holiday I booked 🤣 sounds crazy but a few friends have got engaged recently so I’m like “what if they book their wedding and I can’t go??”
I have already got things for booked for 2027 😆
All my husband and I do is travel so we have to think far in advance to make things work with leave from work and money.
Taking me little sister and her partner to Thailand, it will be their first time so it will be special.

My husband has time off in January and wants go take the kids abroad as we've never been able to before. But where is warm enough at that time of year that doesn't come with a lengthy plane journey? I have had a google but prefer to hear from people who may have been somewhere!
The Canaries are always good for a bit of winter sun!

We're supposed to be flying to Jamaica two weeks tomorrow. Keeping an eye on the news and really hoping the hurricane doesn't cause too much damage/chaos. Its a package booked with Tui so hopefully if we do need to change it they will be helpful. I just want some sunshine and to escape this dark miserable weather. Really glad we aren't there just now!
Start looking now. It’s going to absolutely wipe the islands. Even of you could go, I wouldn’t. They will be busy cleaning up and rebuilding.

Any recommendations for a city break for a mum & 16yr old son? Were into everything hence Im struggling to lock in a location 😅
Krakow was a beautiful city and had a lot of historic tours outside of the city, Budapest is equally as beautiful and has unusual things to do like the baths and its 2 cities in one and a other city that has tons of offer is Berlin.

We are currently in Japan for three weeks (one more to go). What an amazing place. We have two nights at a ryokan at the moment, and it's wonderful to recharge from the business of Tokyo and Kyoto before diving back in.

Just a little random titbit that might help a fellow traveller in the future.
I booked a solo city break to Venice last year for May'25. A friend recently asked if she could join me however the hotel is fully booked, Venice so obv a popular destination.
I've emailed the hotel with the request and even though they are fully booked, we've managed to wangle a twin room.
So the moral of the story is always ask!
I'm assuming they keep a room or two spare in case of emergencies and we're being upgraded to that
