I'm not that interested in sports....let alone the invictus games! I still find it a bit confusing to have both the paralympic games and invictus!!

But I have gone down a bit of a rabbit hole, so the 2022 Invictus games are advertised online as being held in both the Hague and Dusseldorf in 2022. is this simultaneously? Are they holding the games across 2 sites?

And is Netflix a well known distributor in Holland and Germany? Or is this a bit of a bizarre move to put the initial publicity for a charity event on a channel that the host countries dont use that much?

I Am Invincible - Insight TV Insight TV is a Dutch company.....and I now feel extremely old........and way out of their target audience.

PRIMARY AUDIENCE: MILLENNIALS (1981-1996)
SECONDARY AUDIENCE: GEN Z (1996-2012)

Obviously the Invictus games is not worth watching for anyone born before 1981 !!!! We are just too old to be relevant any more!!

It was always inevitable that they would make an Invictus doc. I remember the one in 2014 did quite well and was interesting. I say this with all due respect to the athletes. it's hardly the most eye-catching thing they could do and in the US they're already used to the Warrior Games, it's not a new concept as it was in the UK. Kind of ho hum for them but good enough to overshadow Piers a bit I suppose. I wonder if they can resist another tone deaf personal interview ala South Africa?

If Harry ends up making a lot of money off it, imagine the outcry "Harry (38) who lives in a mansion makes money off wounded squaddie who can't get a job!"

You know what? I also hope they have a massive, lavish baby shower and show everyone what they really care about. Again. They're on baby no 2 they shouldn't "need" a golden nappy changer or whatever.

It would be a nice gesture to donate some of his fee, that's for sure. Given that Harry has to earn money now, though, this is probably as good as we could expect. Good publicity for Invictus, too.

( and it will focus on the charity, rather than be the "it's all about Me, Me, Me Me ghan Show" )

Hopefully Netflix have banned her from any more vanity projects/ clomping over mass graves in her Manolo's

Let's face it, the last thing we want is for them to completely tank, go broke... and have to come back home ...

😂🤣
Hmmmm...not sure I agree, although I take your point.

When he was offered the patronage of Invictus (which, as others have said, was not his idea) I am pretty sure it was never on the basis that he could monetise the endeavor. If he was donating his entire fee, fine, but he’s literally using his association with wounded veterans (an association he only has because of his title) to pay his bills.

I get that he has few options, but I tend to think that’s his problem - and Netflix’s. If they are going to give contracts to entirely inexperienced & talentless individuals then they have to accept that they are likely to end up with crap shows 😂

Smeggy born supposedly 1981.. I doubt she has interest in it and watches it. Don't think she supports chimpo post-dating era. So don't worry! :)

"PHILIP GET ME THE FING PHONE!!!"
Though having said that would more than likely something Philip would say how I dont know haha, since he swears a lot haha. Plus also is known for making the most (I think anyway) hilarious sayings

One thing he said to someone when he was in the Caribbean said "You have mosquitos, I have the press"

It's possible that Archewell have cut a deal with Insight and are bringing this up to date for Netflix. Not that interested. There have been background 'road to Invictus' documentaries for each of the games; this is just another one to add to the list. It's fine but not special and not original, and I can't see Netflix paying much for this type of content. What they want is the headline-grabbing Diana documentary, and I guess they have got that one lined up for later this year.

Yes, you go to Oprah for a friendly, confessional interview. She was pretty clear about allowing Meghan to 'tell her truth' and didn't attempt any follow up questions. Oprah's made her money and might well stick around to get the divorce interview.
Now that would be an interesting watch. It will be all the fault of Harry and the RF.

We'll soon find out, as they are shoving out PR about an upcoming baby shower with Oprah, Gayle and all their other friends. And of course let's shove in some Royal names for the keyword search. But the Harkles aren't commercialising their titles or royal status...

“The Queen will be very welcome if she wants to jump on Zoom,” adds an insider. “Baby showers are much more American than British, but the Queen certainly is aware of them after all the backlash and headlines that followed Meghan’s first in New York.”

Oh look, another greedy gift-grab and another totally egregious display of consumerism by the woke moral saints and eco warriors! My shock!

Don't worry, I'm sure they'll 'give back' to 'the community' by showing up for some photo op to hand out some sandwiches next year when they've recovered from their harsh lifestyles with another extended bout of 'leave'.

Seriously, this baby shower crap already makes me puke. duck off with yourself expecting endless gifts when you're already perfectly able to buy stuff for yourself. But a second round? Are you kidding? Have you ever seen anyone so greedy and materialistic?

It was exempt from tax I do know that but why I am not actually sure was actually her estate being worth between £50 and £70million the bulk of it going to Elizabeth II,though is actually property going to the Monarch quite essentially is exempt from inheritance tax otherwise would be applied I think

Purely due to being its quite essentially in her own name why she's not liable to pay income tax though was questioned about that in Parliament and just decided to pay it, though not being obliged to do so, is HMRC the Inland Revenue is the sort of I dont know how thats structured but yeah....
Harry may be telling the truth when he says he has no money from the Queen Mother ...YET....because the age he can receive it has been increased to 45 or so by the administrator...which happens to be Princess Anne. Princess Diana's estate is administered by her two sisters, Jane and Sarah, and I heard long ago that they too had adjusted the terms. Perhaps the long game plan is to keep Harry's inherited money out of Meghan's hands for as long as possible....10-15-20 years? She will not wait that out. When she leaves him, he can return to the UK and lead a quiet life, or go to South Africa and be the RF's point man there. The RF will protect Harry from himself as long as possible, and wait out this terrible marriage. How the UK responds to H&M, or the RF is up to them/you all, of course.

I just love the fact that they have done this to try and save him from having all his money taken by the greedy grifter 😁
He does sort of deserve it though. Does anyone think Smeggy will last out until he's 45 and bald as a coot? Probably not 😁

As for the invictus series. I respect those taking part but it's not the sort of show that I would bother watching. Those participating have show courage and determination but Hazno is just basking in reflected glory from them.

Invictus was a suggestion by a palace aide for something Harry could do that brought in the goodwill from veterans that he has then. It gave him his own little Olympics to play with and also highlighted disabled sport. He only cared about it as long as it made him feel important.

@Scotch Mist seen your post about PM's my lovely hammy friend. The function was removed a while ago by the moddies as there was too much abuse going on apparently. Some posters DO still have the ability to start a conversation though, and then you can reply to them & chat 😏😏😏 I think it's ID's that joined before a certain date not sure.

On topic: these two are still Freda words. I shall call anybody a Freda word if indeed they are one, and I don't care whether they're blue, pink, green, red or a lovely shade of poo with yellow dots on ❤

And the man that created Invictus, and Harry teh charitable hero never got any credit for it, so here it is :Edward Lane Fox.
The received gratitude was well this:
Oprah doing well in US media, and launching projects. 😠

I used to be able to start private conversations but I can't do it anymore 😪 I can see that some people would abuse it to bully others so can understand why it's gone.

As for Smeggy having another baby shower 😖
Is she going to donate these gifts that she doesn't need to a charity for mothers in desperate circumstances? No I thought not 🙄

And now it has turned into a nice little earner for him. Exec Producer fee for Hazza and Producer fees for Archwell Productions. From the Guardian:

Heart of Invictus will follow the journeys of individuals who are competing at the Prince Harry-backed sporting event for injured former members of armed forces. Harry will appear on camera and be credited as an executive producer on the series, which will cover the run-up to the 2022 Invictus Games in The Hague.

The show will be produced by Archewell Productions, the royal couple’s recently-formed television production arm. Income from the business is expected to be play a key role in financing their new life in California, following their decision to leave public service last year.

From Variety, there's something in this for Invictus as well:

The Invictus Games Foundation will serve as an executive producer. The project will provide “significant funding to the organization,” according to Netflix, supporting the group’s work ahead of the Games at The Hague.

Basically, the same documentary that has already been made for each Invictus games will be made again, but this time Harry gets to trouser a chunky fee. That is literally the only difference between documentaries for Invictus 2018 and Invictus 2020 - Harry's fee. But of course he remains devoted to public service...
