I think sometimes people are railroaded into signing an NDA or even quite ignorant of the implications of an NDA at time of signing the contract of employment.

Whoever knew she was the nanny at that point in time would probably not want to hire her anyway - her reputation already being in tatters - what would someone like that have to lose? California included, except some industrious (aka Wealthy) Los Angeles/SB/SF and Silicon Valley parents have created schooling pods of 5-7 same aged kids with a private tutor, to create "bubbles" or "pods".
