I think that's a really good point. TLQ was looking at a variety of disastrous decisions marriage wise and thought she was doing the best thing. We're stuck quoting Monty Python 'No one expects the Spanish Inquisition'.I think she faked a pregnancy when she showed up at the Inskip wedding.
I think she faked a miscarriage (maybe more than one) along the line.
I think the Queen was wary of her and wanted to advise a long engagement to see how she behaved long term but then I think a fake pregnancy made them arrange the wedding (and move Eugenie's to a later date.)
I also think the Queen had guilt and regret about not letting her sister marry Townsend or Charles marry Camilla or Andrew marry Koo Stark. And this made her take her eye off the ball and let Meghan in because she didnt want to deprive Harry of the love of his life like she had with the other three.
In hindsight she should have allowed the other three marriages and should have forbidden Harry to marry Meghan and should have written Meghan a large cheque to walk away from Harry.

Random thought that came into my head just now: Harry gives me the ick so much, yet his brother William is dashing and lovely. I'd say yes to one and helllllll no to the other. I just can't imagine anyone wanting to cozy up to Haz, he always looks like he smells of stale sweat and booze, dishevelled, selfish etc. There's no way Meghan was actually attracted to him. Didn't TM Sr (according to TM Jr, so perhaps a pinch of salt is needed) regularly visit the Far East as a - let's not beat about the bush - sex tourist, and invite TM Jr along too?
Before I retired, I sometimes wondered what the hell it would take for Child Protection colleagues to remove a child from its 'parents'. They'd go to any lengths to keep the family unit together even when the so-called parent/s were IMO lost causes. However one of the few things that would get their arses in gear and carry out an emergency removal was a minor witnessing or being aware of adults (even the parents) having overt sexual relations. I can't imagine the US is so very different, but I guess the Markle household was off their radar.
