My 3rd baby was 8.11 born and near 11lb when 6 weeks old. Could hold his head up from a few weeks old as well. My 4th was 7.7 born, lost loads and dropped to 6.12 and struggled to hit 9lb by 2 months, couldnt hold his head up until 6 months old and was delayed and still is with everything else. I suppose everyone's babies are different. But seeing Archie in them photos I just see a normal, cute baby!
He is a cutie

The way she’s holding him..looks so awkward..Kate looks fab as usual!
She looks like she has never held him. Kate is always such a natural with kids.

She looks so uncomfortable. Perhaps she is just nervous or something but honestly, I think all is not as it seems with her. Maybe at home, it is all nannies. Is that why in the first photos, Harry is holding the baby? She looks like a kid struggling to hold him.

Also, I am about to sound awful. But that dress is SO unflattering. In the photo with Harry, how does she look even bigger than when she gave birth???? She actually looks pregnant in it. She needs a new stylist. Her style has always been dreadful. She would have looked much better with a baby wrap, and more comfortable.

Edit to add: It is also interesting that Kate is normally really interactive with kids and babies, and not just her own. Yet in any photos of this event, she isn't interacting at all with Me-ghan's baby.

Added some photos to show.

Doesn’t look that big to me either, and his head does still have a newborn look I think. That said, my babies were over 9lbs and had full heads of hair at birth so maybe not the best judge!

Meghan does seem to be in pain, particularly in the second photo, so I suppose it's because she's still recovering from popping such a huge baby! [emoji15][emoji15]
Or from trying to hold a toddler like it’s a newborn 😳
Btw am I the only one who doesn’t like Kate 😂😂 at all. They both went after the bag let’s be honest
The baby is a cutie

I would be inclined to give her a break being a first time mum, she's probably a bit jumpy and scared carrying him outside.

What, after 2 months? First week or two I totally get but she looks for all the world like she's literally never held any baby let alone her baby before. Odd.

I haven't had a baby so I'm clearly way off! Maybe she just hasn't taken him out a lot?

Seeing Meghan holding Archie today made me feel a lot better about myself after holding my tiny goddaughter for the first time. [emoji1787][emoji1787] And bear in mind, she was the first newborn I ever held! [emoji23][emoji23]

Most of the time if you drop them they bounce, especially the little chunky ones.
The most damage you can do is drop them on their head 🤷‍♀️ Which might mean 18 to 20 years later they become influencers. 😐
She definitely looks like a new mum. 😂
I find her a million times more relatable than K.Middy 😐
Pity she didn’t give us a leaky boob for extra realness.

I’m never normally one to defend her but I have to say that even as someone who was lucky to take to motherhood pretty easily I still struggled taking my baby out and about for the first couple of months, I felt like all eyes were on me and I would be judged, it often made me behave awkwardly and I’m sure I seemed uncomfortable and inexperienced to many. That was without the world and it’s wife taking photos and publishing them in the media for the world to comment on. I’m actually really pleased they’ve decided to actually take him somewhere for once!!

Oh dear, dropping a baby has got to be one of my biggest fears. [emoji33][emoji33][emoji33]
I think it's safe to say Louis is the life of the party!! [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787] Cheeky little thing!!

I think it looks like shes nervous about carrying him outside. Especially with people watching. Im always worried about tripping over when holding babies.

That strangely reminded me of Peaches Geldof where her baby fell out of the pram in front of paps but she never let go of her phone.

Yeah I agree she looks nervous about being in public with baby. I've had 4 and still hold newborns dodgy 😂 like holding a bloody grenade. They don't just stay nice and still like a doll!! And just as bloody fragile 😂

Also further up the post there were comments about taken out of the home. My 1st went for his first walk in his pram at 2 days old with my mum (basically a veteran mother having raised 3 herself) so when I had my other they were out when I was able to walk! I remember being shouted at by my midwife for walking my 4th down to shops and back. Was roughly 3 miles there and back plus the shopping and he was 4 days old! The only reason I was told off was because of my own body not babies. I ended up having severe bleeding. Every mum's different and I actually like seeing her with Archie in public! Even if bodyguards and nannies are out of the photos, she's s new mum and she's doing her best

(Ps. Clearly I'm a bit emotional today as I try not to get involved with baby chat as I tend to get broody af. But Archie is bloody adorable!
Pps. Also apologise for how many times I say bloody 😂)

She should of had I’m in a buggy or sling. She would of felt much more at ease. Do her and Kate not get on?

I really enjoy holding newborns, it's the 6-7 month babies I don't like holding. Whyyyy do they flip their heads back and all sorts?! I think she's probably just nervous

If Kate and Meghan weren't sisters in law I doubt they'd have anything in common when you really strip it back.
Kate's very family orientated not just with her own little ones but with her own parents and siblings she's a country girl, outdoorsy builds dens with her kids said on a TV interview recently she has them out in all weathers just playing and exploring and then you've got the polar opposite in Meghan total different family values and up bringing adores the glamour, has showbiz friends, very pushy reputation apparently hypervidulant around the baby etc there's no smoke without fire and the palace insiders all say these two woman are not close as there's not a lot of common ground between them I think it's becoming very clear in royal circles Meghan is not at all popular merely tolerated .

It is really interesting as it makes Kate seem like the "relatable" and approachable one. And Meghan seems like the high maintenance snob.

We've never heard horror stories from Kate and Will's staff yet there are many about Meghan. Like you said, there's got to be some truth to how difficult she is.
