It is all totally disgraceful but I honestly believe it’s a vocal minority thing on social media. If you’d gone on Twitter in the weeks leading up to the last General Election it would have had you believe Corbyn would win by a landslide. I read plenty of articles, listen to plenty of interviews from a range of different people that restore my faith. I see it as a pathetic fad that will have its day and then slowly fall away. Pendulum swinging back, if you like. Let’s hope so anyway.

Please dont worry about race wars. We almost had one last year here in South Africa.

All of this racism talk on English speaking social media is very America-centric. I’ve lived in an Asian country that shall remain nameless, and it’s very racist. Towards white people and black people and other Asian people. I wasn’t there that long, fortunately it didn’t affect my employment and I didn’t understand the language well enough to pick up all the comments - but they were made as speakers of the language would tell me if I asked. I still love the place, but to live there full time would mean putting up with a lot of racism towards me. Although I lived there years ago and things may have improved.
i haven’t lived within in a black majority population such as an African country, but I bet there is yet another racial dynamic.
I’m not saying the UK is a paragon at all - just that everywhere is different.
For a country that wants to be a world leader Americans do forget there is the rest of the world out there.

Well... taken in context of wearing it as a costume to a party called "Colonial And Native" .... that's all around sketchy in my opinion.
It amazes me how people in such public positions or in positions of authority act the way they do. They really believe they are above it all. When will they learn? At the least I think it's poor form.

Having said that, I believe that people can grow up and redeem themselves from past bad behavior that occurred especially when they were young and in their formative years.

I can forgive when people own their screw-ups. It's when they don't and blame others for their actions that it puts me to my soapbox.
